Miles happy to have gotten food, was eating without a care in the world. He heard Tien tell Sorcha about the sword. “Hey, I’m the one who was working on it,” Miles said wanting to get his word in. Miles thought that this riceball was actually pretty good. “This is so good, nothing like some food after working. Thanks, Naka.” Miles hadn’t eaten since he had got here and a little food was exactly what he needed to keep him running. He would have to check in town to see if he could get his own mini fridge into his dorm room.

“Nuts and berries sound good right now too,” Miles said. “So, Tien you did what before you came to this school.” He wondered how fairy society worked and what would bring one to this school. If they didn’t have a community than how did fairies meet fairies? Miles finished the last of the riceball and moving onto the onigiri. He was enjoying free food so much that he almost forgot about his book.

He grabbed the compendium and opened it to the page he had been on. “More notes than more food, so is everything as desired now Naka?” Miles wanted to make sure everything was as he wanted. He couldn’t really change anything but he could make sure that he wanted the sword still. He didn’t want to disappoint.

Cyan walked toward the sound to find that is was none other than Tien and Naka, as well as two other people, one of which he might have seen in a hallway somewhere, but he couldn't remember exactly. It didn't matter too much, because an idea had just come to Cyan. While, in many of the shows he had seen, eavesdropping was looked down upon, it was also the most common action of the "mysterious character." That would be neat; to be seen as a cool character like that.

"All I have to do was wait for the right moment in the conversation, make a witty interjection, then jump down from my perch and...crap," he thought as the realization hit him, "I'm not high up anymore, and I sure can't climb that tree." Some bushes caught his eye, and he decided that that was where he would make his entrance from. He had made it halfway toward them when the fairy cheerfully exclaimed "But this is for you! Naka is giving you a present."

Cyan looked back and couldn't hold back the snerk that slipped out when he saw Naka's face. Poor guy. Judging by that, he assessed that Naka was giving the sword to the tall red-haired girl as a surprise gift. "Nice," he said, unintentionally out loud. He cupped his paws over his mouth. So much for being mysterious.

"Everything is perfect." He said shortly before smacking his own forehead. He shouldn't have been surprised but of course Tien had managed to tell Sorcha about her birthday present. It had not occurred to him for a second that Tien wouldn't know what a birthday was. Due to that Naka gave in.
"Happy Earry birthday." He said with a smile. After that he took a step away from the group.
" Focus your feelings through the sword and try to use them on my. You know I won't die." He said to her in japanese. It was still easier and she would understand without alarming the others before she got the chance.

The helicopter landed on the far side of the Island, hovering above the water and staying away from the treeline and well out of view of people, not that they had to try really hard to stay invisible since the chopper was invisible and shielded from sound thanks to the pilot and copilot. Meanwhile, their passenger donned his parachute and prepared to make land.
"remember, acquire your target, eliminate Nakata Ishikawa." The pilot said.
"There is a flare gun and red spray hidden in the forest, it's the one called the forbidden forest." The copilot added.
All of their prattling was pointless. Even his direct commanders didn't tell him word for word what to do during a mission. He often had his own methods of completing a mission that were infinitely more effective than whatever they were going to tell him to do.
"My job includes assessing the situation and determining course of action that best suits the mission parameters. I don't need your input." He responded slightly before jumping out of the helicopter...,

Sorcha stood mute as everything happened at once, Tien and Miles talking about the sword being a gift? for her? She was trying to take that in when she thought she heard a sarcastic
"Nice"
from somewhere. She spun around to see a bluish-green ferret/weasel/squirrel/rodent? type creature standing there. And it was wearing pants!"Who or what are you, and why were you sneaking away?" What the dickens was going on here? Then Naka handed her back the sword, explaining it was her birthday present. He remembered her birthday? Awed she took the sword, struggling to hold in the elation that the thought and the gift gave her.

Focus her feelings Naka had told her, she nodded in understanding but why now? here? She knew he would not have told her unless there was a good enough reason. She gestured for him to stand further away from the group. There was no doubt in her mind which emotion was going to be tested now, pure elation and happiness. With the sword in her left hand she raised both of her hands outwards towards Naka. At first it was a slim wall, a force field surrounding her, then it became thicker and as poured the feelings into her power the force field started twirling around her, similar to a tornado, it picked up speed so that it was equivalent to a category 2 hurricane. She watched as Naka was blown approximately back 30 feet over the stone benches and tables and smack into the big shade tree in the courtyard. She saw hit the trunk and she immediately became mortified, she rushed towards him and in that moment, she briefly wondered what had happened? Why was he not further out?, he should have flown further, and looking around there should have been more damage. Was there something wrong with her powers? She had never had control over her powers before? They were always too extreme, but that was secondary once she reached Naka and kneeled down to look at him.

Slightly alarmed when Naka smacked his head, Tien fluttered about anxiously. Nobody had chastised her for speaking, and with no clear explanation that she had messed up, the fairy would persist in not understanding the situation. But truthfully, Tien didn't really fit in here. She pondered the thought as Naka and Sorcha pulled away, and furry... vaguely humanoid rodent thing turned up. She'd only moved into the dorms a while ago, and as she had her own dollhouse (partly-soundproofed for extra realism), she was certain she'd never met this... creature.

Tien felt even more out of place. He was an animal, but he was bigger than her. Everybody was. Why weren't there fairies at Starlight? Was she the only one in the whole world? Everything here was strange and incomprehensible, and Tien longed for someone just like her - a fairy, captured and brought to this island for no apparent reason, where everything was silly. Caught up in her latest misery, the fairy had quite a delayed reaction when Naka disappeared from view. Appalled, she zipped off after him, wings beating the air as fast as a hummingbird's. "Naka!" she cried as she approached, changing her trajectory into a steep incline. "What happened?" Aghast, Tien's eyes swung around to Sorcha with something approaching accusation.

"She didn't do that, did she?" Because Sorcha was supposed to be his friend. He'd gotten her a present. How could a friend (with present!) ever do that?

Cass stared at the heaving, whispering forest. She'd finished her afternoon shift at The Copper Lounge, gone home to shower and change, then gone for a walk - one which had led her here. She suppressed a shiver as she watched the forest, absently rubbing her left arm; the one bitten by the chimera. The puncture wounds were deep, and the doctor had given her dummy stitches while trying - uselessly - to convince her to go to the hospital. No, too many questions. The long, shallow cut on her throat had already lost its scab, leaving a shiny line of scar tissue that she hoped would heal. But it wasn't her injuries that brought her out here, gazing at the shadowy mire. In there, somewhere, were three dead bodies. Leon and Pete couldn't have survived, and... well, she'd already killed Joe. It struck her as odd that she didn't know, and would never know, their surnames.

After another moment of quiet reflection, Cass pulled her sheepskin-lined jacket closer around herself. It was no good standing around whining to herself about being a killer; she needed to keep working on a way to break her mental link with Fordren. He lived in the city, like her, and she could feel when they were physically going towards each other - it was creepy. She wasn't one for company, especially not the smug, do-gooder, know-it-all kind. Shivering - more with disgust than with cold - she began to turn away from the forest and begin the long walk back home, to at least improve on her endurance level, when she heard something. Not with her ears, that was far too pedestrian for a freak like her; with her mind. Nothing like it had ever happened, but it was as though someone whispered behind her ear, and she jerked around in shock.

"Who's there?" she asked, and felt stupid for addressing thin air. Rallying and reminding herself that nobody needed to know she'd turned into a paranoid lunatic, she took a slightly more brazen approach. "I know you're there. I won't turn my back on you."

The air probably wouldn't care one way or another, but at least she sounded convincing.

Cyan scratched behind his ear as he answered, "Um...yeah. Hi, I'm a painted weasel. I'm Tien and Naka's roommate. Um, I think it would be best if I not try to explain why I was sneaking."

To his surprise, the girl actually turned away while he was in mid-sentence. "That was kind of rude, although I'm not really one to talk," he thought before he saw the tall redhead take the gift from Naka and create an...energy tornado? She then proceeded to send Naka flying 30 feet back. Being indestructible himself and knowing Naka's powers, Cyan wasn't too shocked, but he couldn't help but wince. The impact must have been painful, since he relied on regeneration, not resilience. Cyan wondered exactly what the girl's purpose was in doing that? "Um, if you need target practice, maybe I'm a better subject," He said before noticing the girl and fairy's reaction, "What's wrong?" He scurried toward Naka to see how he had taken the hit.

Miles watched Naka fly away from the girl. “A successful sword if I have to say so myself.” Miles looked and saw a little green weasel run towards Naka. It seemed that it had on clothes. “What do we have here?” Miles walked over to the weasel and picked it up. “What are you doing here little guy? Did you lose your master? Hey Naka why’s this weasel green? And why is it wearing pants?” Miles started to pet the weasel. “It seems the sword works. I don’t know how she sent you flying but it was pretty funny.” Miles wondered why the girl Sorcha needed emotional control. She seemed to have a pretty strong grip on her powers. He would just count the sword as a success and move onto something new. He already knew that Naka would be fine from the attack since he could regenerate himself. But this little weasel was more astounding at the moment. He wondered what gave it its green color because it didn’t look dyed. He continued to pet the little weasel and looked at the sword he had made it still kept that faint green glow and the bear claw was still attached. He would made his sword after dealing with this weasel.

Sorcha agreed to what Naka had said and he was happy that she wanted to test it out... until he actually hit the tree, at that point he was more critical of himself for getting caught up in the moment but all in all it was still fun and he was still pleased as punch that the weapon seemed to help. He was glad that Sorcha found the gift useful and he had to agree with Miles. It was an astounding success and he was glad the opportunity had come up. That was about the point where Tien started fluttering around him and asking if he was alright.
"Don't worry. I told her to do this because I wanted her to test out her gift. The power she used is one she uses when she feels extreme happiness and uses her power. She would never have done it if she thought she would hurt me. You should give her a present too, I think you and her can be good friends. She likes you." He said to her, voicing to Tien the way he would imagine Sorcha to feel.

After taking to his feet again, he looked to Miles.
"Thank you for making this for me, I hope to L-earn one day how to do this too." He said, trying to properly pronounce the "L" this time. Then he looked to Cyan.
"And what were you doing creeping around in the dark like a pervert." He said in a playful tone to the weasel. After Cyan responded, he would look to Sorcha.
"I'm grad you enjoy the gift. I can get you the sheath for it." He said with a heartfelt smile. For once he was starting to feel like he had friends in his life and a place he could feel settled.

Tatsujin dropped his bag off in the forest, along with extra supplies in a hanging tent that extended off the face of a cliff at the edge of the forest before heading inland. His identity had already been prepared and he would enter as a new student, transferring from a similar school in Japan. The disguise was perfect, he'd even brought a fun little toy with him called a neural interface distributor specifically to keep people from being able to read his mind while he was there. Of course that wouldn't keep them from knowing he was around and the fact that they weren't able to delve past his surface thoughts might keep some of them suspicious but at least he'd be able to sleep without discovery of his current nefarious plans.

As he exited the forest, he heard someone call out. His thoughts raced at first.
"Hyper senser? Feral? telepath? Empath? aura viewer?" He tried to scale what the cause of his detection might have been, but his thoughts quickly switched to a course of action. Even though the person in question was asking, they might already know he was there. Given that possibility, he decided to answer.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He said, taking his place behind a tree and opting to step out slowly for rational effect.
"I'm a little lost. Is there anyway you can help me find my way to starlight." He said, a lie, though as he said this he scratched his head with his right hand, the hand that canceled out powers just in case the telepath hunch proved to be the answer. At the very least he planned to use this one to help him get closer to his goals. Meanwhile the neural interface distributor (NID) would allow him to blend in more without obviously hiding anything... at least for the next 12 hours.

Cyan didn't like the idea of being picked up by a stranger, especially one who seemed to view him as another mindless animal. "Hey, hey buddy, I'd like it if you didn..." His voice trailed off as Miles began to pet him. "Actually, would you mind scratching my back ever so gently, just a bit above my shoulder blades? There's this one spot I just can't seem to get with my teeth or my claws."

In response to Naka's remark, he replied, "Well, well, why in such a good mood? And I'm not creeping. I was just trying to make an entrance, that's all." Cyan looked up at Miles, "Try to warn me before you pick me up again. If I were a normal weasel, I'd've scratched both your eyes out. Not that I'd ever do that. I'm just saying."
