The school would practically be under lock down. Rather, a vast majority of the students were asleep right now, yet still it would be difficult to get around in the halls. Regardless, he had been caught and only narrowly managed to get away. For whatever reason, they had lost track of him despite the only possible course of escape being the roof. Apparently they had not thought of that, instead thinking that he must have gone downstairs instead of up.
He stood upon the very edge of the roof, looking down at the school grounds. He saw many lights coming from the staff members that were out searching for him. He would likely be unable to make his escape until things died down, but he was not sure how long that could take. This was not the first time he had been caught inside the school grounds, and he found it rather likely they would not tolerate it for much longer. Things would have been so much easier had he simply registered as a student, but that was an impossibility now.
Despite this being the third attempt, he had been unable to recover any relevant information off of the school's network database. The only things he were able to find were student profiles, budget and financial information (which would be a jackpot were he some sort of fraudster) and other things he had no interest in. He decided that, after tonight, he would have no need to trespass on school grounds anymore. That was, unless of course, information down the line led him to believe he would need the school further.
Alistair leaned over the edge more, able to balance himself well enough that any ordinary person would be in severe danger of falling. And a fall from this height would be enough to severely injure or kill someone. He heard a yell from down below and immediately jumped back off the ledge in an attempt to hide himself. Did someone see him? He began frantically looking around for a place to hide in the event that they came up here looking for him. It was quite dark out, except for the large bright moon. But he found it doubtful he could remain hidden for very long.
