The set up was perfect. He'd called The lads together for a nice time. Went ahead and charmed the owner of the mark into letting him pay for stuff ahead of time. He was all for misadventure and trouble, but getting arrested for actually stealing was not on the menu. Still, it'd be fun letting the guys think they were nicking the snacks.

He sat on the curb a half block away from the store, waiting on the guys. He rested his arms on his knees, smoking a cigarette. He checked his phone. They should be showing up any minute now.

Beyond anything else though, he couldn't get that girl out of his head. Alanna. He'd only met her briefly at the Masquerade, but something about her had stuck with him. It felt like electricity when they touched and he, admittedly, was kind of obsessing.

Oh well. A movie night with the lads ought to help with that.

It seemed strange to him that someone he only knew slightly from school would invite him out with a group of others. Hal had made sure to finish all of his work before heading out, not wanting to leave it all until the last minute.

Sam, the boy who invited him, seemed like a nice guy, even though he knew very little about him. The evening was supposed to be a movie night and Hal had presumed that they were meeting at the store to get some snacks before the film.

Making his way to the store, he stumbled across the boy who invited him sat on the curb, smoking. Since there was no one else around, he presumed that he was the first to arrive. “Hello,” he greeted politely, “Are you alright down there?” Hal wasn’t the best at talking to people and it was hard to know what to say.

Jamie got Sam’s texted and stared at it for awhile. They really only had two options: go willingly or risk Sam coming to get them. Seeing as the best option was to just go along for the obvious ride they headed to the meet up spot. Jamie wasn’t sure why they didn’t just meet at 7-11 and then go watch the movie. It was probably just the fact they didn’t want to leave their desk that made them question things.

“Heeyy?” Jamie sorta of asked walking over to the two boys. Hopefuly they ended the night with minium amount of trouble. Sharing a dorm with the mastermind behind this whole thing was a bit...overwhelming at times.

“What exactly are we doing and does it involve me getting a mystery flavor Slushie.”

Loshi was avoiding his work, and although he was somewhat caught up, once he got the call, he was gone. Out the window.

He had a huge grin on his face, glad for the mystery event that freed his from that room. Approaching, he viewed the other Event members. A Cleric, an Ice Mage, and some sort of Metal Wizard. Not suited to any fights. A team of mages are almost always knocked out fast.

Stepping over, He gave finger guns to Jamie, glad to be here in a proper party again.

"Just fine, lad. And possibly, Jamie. Possibly." He grinned up at the other two boys, looking completely nonchalant.

"Finally," Sam said as Loshi showed up last. Standing up, he gave his neck a quick crack and looked his friends over. Not the best, but nowhere near the worst. And what was better than doing simethsom crazy with your best mates?

Taking the cigarette out of his mouth and tossing it into the storm drain next to him, he got a darkly serious look on his face. "Alright lads. Here's the fuckin rub. We're watchin films tonight. And for that, we need snacks. A ton of snacks. But sadly we're all impoverished students, aye? Cruel fate. But! I have a solution. Follow me, and ye'll eat til yer in a sugar coma."

He gestured to the convenience store at the corner; a shining neon and fluorescent beacon of hope in a dark, unforgiving world. "What we need is," he said, pointing to each of his friends in turn. "Drinks. a couple of those twelve packs of canned colas. Crisps and dip. Two of each. Candy. Like ten whole bags. A slushie for each of us."

He paused, nodding sagely. "We'll go in and I'll cause a distraction. You lads nick the stuff. And if all goes well, we'll be in and out before they even notice. Any questions?"

Hal waved to the other people as they arrived. Once again, he didn’t really know the people but making more friends couldn’t hurt, right? Work seemed to overwhelm him at times so doing something like this was new to him. He would usually watch movies with his mother or spend time with Liun but they were adults. This group of people were around his own age.

Sam seemed as though he was one of the ‘cool kids’ that found it easy to be surrounded by a group. Hal didn’t understand why what he was saying had to be so serious but he nodded along none the less. However, he finally realised after Sam’s last comment. “Wait, you mean you want to steal the snacks...?” he asked in a shaky tone.

Hal didn’t want to seem uptight or uncool but stealing was wrong. “I have money from my mum.” If she ever found out, there would be a lot of trouble. The problem was that he didn’t want to be cast out from this group; being the goody two shoes was lonely.

Jamie was on board until Sam mentioned exactly what they were supposed to do. “S-steal? S-sam they probably have security cameras. You know how those work right? Because I do.” They were starting to becoming increasingly worried as the seconds went by. All this for a slushie? They were gonna get caught and Jamie doubted that they allowed people to play tech in jail.

“We could always combine resources and like I dunno make do? Like there’s f-four of us, do we need a twelve pack?” Surely Sam had to see reason right? They had enough for their slushie but they were living off an allowance from the school. Why did the other boy have to be so...trouble seeking?

“Why do I get the feeling all our words are falling on dead ears?” A sense of dread filled Jamie, at least Sam hadn’t gotten them arrested so far.

Loshi nodded, hearing the items and quantities for each, and began to walk off into the store. His mission was set. He was already gone as the others began to complain.

Spotting the Shopkeeper, he immediately moved into the other side of the store and put a twelve pack of cola in both of his pockets. it wasn't noticeable, but it puffed out his pocket like he had a couple of tennis balls in each of his pants pockets. He guessed that his inventory counted it as twenty-four rather than two. that was half of his inventory gone. Best to make several runs, in case the other items were similar.

Walking put out, he grinned at Sam, and handed him the two twelve packs, and waited for his response. it would be a waste of playtime to have grabbed the wrong items.

Objections. Sam was ready for objections. What he wasn't ready for was Loshi just... walking past him all the way to the convenience store. Same stood slack jawed for a minute then turned to look at his other two friends with a pinch of horror. "Uh... in for a penny, in for a- fuckin shite, Loshi."

And then Sam was bolting after him, nearly tripping over himself as he barreled through the door. Leaning heavily on the counter, Sam grinned at the store clerk and whispered to them, explaining that Loshi was one of the friends he had talked about and that he was just grabbing the sodas he'd bought before. He was new. He didn't apparently understand English that well. It was fine. Nothing wrong in the slightest.

From anywhere else it'd look like he was distracting the clerk, albeit very poorly. Talking with his hands despite the clerk very clearly looking past him at Loshi. Laughing nervously and mustering a tlstring of words a mile a minute. But when was was said and done, the clerk let Loshi leave. No cops. No sirens. It seemed as though it had worked?

Now as long as the other two hadn't run off, it'd be perfect. He'd have to remember to talk to Loshi later about this.

It seemed as though Hal and Jamie were in agreement. It was slightly more comforting not being the only one that felt that it was wrong. Loshi, on the other hand didn’t seem to be phased by the whole breaking the law thing and went straight in. Hal thought the whole situation through in his head as Sam followed Loshi into the store.

In and out in no time. No one would know. Except his mum always had a way of knowing things Hal didn’t want her to. However, if they got caught, they would all be in the blame and he would still get friends out of it. Thoughts surged through his head about the pros and cons. Sighing, he made his own way into the store to see what was happening.

Sam was talking to the shopkeeper, probably causing a distraction, and Loshi was in the drinks aisle. Looking between Sam and the candy on a shelf. Slowly, he made his way to them, his heart beating faster and the money in his pocket growing heavier. I could just pay the owner secretly, he thought but Sam would catch him.

Shoving the ten bags that was asked for into his pockets, he became paranoid that cameras were watching him. Panicking, Hal became a flurry of snow, keeping low to the ground so to not be noticeable. He swirled his way out of. The shop door and reformed a small distance down the street. He had done it. His breathe was shallow and his head felt like it was about to burst free but he had done it.
