Madlumay just finished her breakfast. She got a lot of time on her hands. She just finished papers last night and she wanted to reward herself. Mads was looking for a place where she can relax, and at the same time, practice her power. The first place that came to her mind was the lake. She has never seen the lake before. It was chilly outside, so Mads decided to change into white skinny jeans. She put on her grey hoodie and went out. She jogged to the lake. While jogging, she marvelled at the unique biodiversity of the plants and animals of the island. Nature here, for Mads, ranged from elegant to creepy. She wondered which of them is poisonous and which are not. She also wondered whether some of these plants can be used for tea. She kept on thinking and thinking until she reached the lake.

There were few people in the lake. She sighed with relief. She really wanted minimal attention when practising. Mads headed towards the shore of the lake. She outstretched her right hand and felt the unusual power flow within her. A small amount of water started to part from the lake. The raised her hand, letting the water follow her hand movements. She then shaped the water into a sphere. The sphere wobbled in her hand and lost its shape. The water then returned to the lake. Mads frowned with disappointment. She then again summoned the water. Her hands moved in an arc above her head. The water followed the motion. Mads then tried to play with the water like a slinky. She was transferring the water from one hand to another.

She was started to have fun until she lost control of the water. The force on the water of her left hand was too strong. She sent the water flying. Worse, the water landed on a bystander. She ran towards the bystander. "I'm so sorry" she said. She looked at the stranger. Mads noticed that the girl's sketchpad and clothes were wet. "I'm really sorry". She started to remove the water from the stranger's clothes with her water manipulation. "I'm sorry I can't do anything with the sketchpad" she told her. She was genuinely sorry, but it didn't seem to show because Mads was acting so calmly. "I'm sorry that happened". Mads blamed herself for her lack of control. But she thought that she can't do anything about it now. She waited for the stranger to get disappointed or angry.

The lake wasn't a usual spot for Eve, but she's made a striking encounter here once before and coming back got her back that awestruck feeling. She wasn't longing for that person, she was only lost in memory. And she was sketching the lake quite absentmindedly, not even focusing on details she usually did.

She didn't notice the person practicing with the water. She only noticed that the water was moving unnaturally, but to question why, she didn't even do. She continued to draw, using her pencil to add shadings to the lines.

She was halfway done when she was shocked by the cold and slightly painful impact of water.

"!" Eve gasped, getting up from her spot and staggering backwards. She wasn't sure how else to react, because other than being totally soaked now, the sketchpad in her hands were also wet, the pages, and so the sketches on them, all ruined.

She had a heart broken look as she whimpered and carefully fiddled with the wet pages. She was afraid they could tear anytime. Luckily, these sketches were only drafts for paintings. But still, they were ruined and there was a painful tug in her chest just thinking about it.

She turned her head as a woman approached her. Ah, she thought dejectedly, someone was practicing. I should've been careful...

She only nodded blankly as the person removed the water from her. For a moment, Eve hoped her sketchpad could be saved, but that hope was instantly crushed. The artist looked like she was about to cry. But she wasn't angry. She sighed, freeing her hair from the messy bun and letting it down. It felt nice that her shirt, moreover her skinny jeans and knitted cardigan dried up quickly and were only heavy with water for a while, but she wasn't relieved. Her artworks were more important than her, after all.

"It... It's okay, I can dry this up at home," she said, closing it carefully. As long as the pages don't rip, the sketchpad would be fine. "They're just drafts anyway."
@Mayari - sorry for the long wait! I'm really sorry! >.<

"Hey, I really am sorry" Mads tried to remove the water from the sketchpad. She stopped trying when she discovered that marks of the lead on the paper are smudged and can't be restored to its original strokes. She was feeling bad for making someone feel bad. She planned to spend this day peacefully alone. Now, because of her carelessness, she made someone sad. The guilt was slowly piling up as she stared at the hopeless sketchpad

"Hey, uhm, are you cold?" Mads sensed the tiny droplets that remained on the girl's skin. Mads lowered her right shoulder, about to remove her jacket. She raised it back again and pulled the front of her jacket together. "If your cold, we can to go to a nearby shop and have coffee." Mads sheepishly smiled at the girl. "My treat, of course. They have coffee, milk and tea there." Mads mumbled. "Oh." Her eyes widened in glee." They also have this greaaaat cupcake. I mean it's so good, I swear you'll forget your name. The shop is also so cute, the chairs are colored pastel pink and pastel blue. You could also see the gar-" Mads realized that she was being too talkative. She was always quiet and careful. But the moment she remembered those cupcakes, her heart started to beat faster and whole body shook with excitement. She looked down in embarrassment. Mads reminded herself to maintain composure. "But you don't have to do so. I should make it up to you in your preferred fashion. I'm sorry for babbling too much" Mads bowed her head, apologizing. "By the way, I am Madlumay. I am from the Pacific. I recently moved here." Now what? Madlumay was aware that her life is isn't interesting as the lives of those who lived here. She didn't have much to say about herself.

"What say you?" Mads sked.

Eve raised her head from the ruined sketch pad, to look at the young woman. She chuckled, mostly because of the other's attempt and suggestion to make it up to her. She flashed a gentle smile to show that she really was okay, and she wasn't going to hold a grudge or anything.

"Like I said, I'm okay. But that shop you're talking about sounds like paradise to me, so I'll take you up on that offer, alright?"

She safetied her sketch pad between her left arm and torso, before holding out a hand for a shake. This was an odd way to make an acquaintance, she thought, although maybe not so odd. "I'm Eve. Eve Willows." She wasn't sure if Madlumay recognized that name, but whether she did or not, she decided not to make it too big of a deal. The girl's guilt might worsen if ever.

"So where's this shop? I thought I already know all the cafes in the island but I haven't been to anything pastel pink and pastel blue."

"I'm Eve. Eve Willows." Mads shook Eve's outstretched hand. Eve Willows. Eve Willows. Eve Willows. Mads forced herself to remember her name. She owed her. "So where's this shop? I thought I already know all the cafes in the island but I haven't been to anything pastel pink and pastel blue." Eve said. Mads was impressed that Eve knows all the cafes. Mads wondered what cafe Eve likes best.

"Oh, it's this shop called Frosted Kitten Delights. The owner's name is Oliver, if I can remember correctly." She looked towards the direction of the cafe. "It's nearby, we can walk to go there if that's okay for you."
