The woods were perhaps the most favored place Cross liked to be. He got to catch monkeys that stole burgers from him and nobody objected to him catching his own meals. It made him feel so manly that he could uproot trees and pounce upon anything deemed dangerous in the area without being reprimanded for it. Better yet, he could release the Wolf here just because there wasn’t a person he could possibly hurt.

He loved knowing that he was the best of the best! Even if he got into huge amounts of trouble, nobody could best him and everyone knew who he was!...Okay, that stupid cat will eventually get his someday, BUT HE WAS STILL THE BEST. Yes, he was still brooding over that ridiculous chase and because of that, he ended up having to clean up the mess he spread throughout the entire campus. That took forever to clean and the day had been practically wasted thanks to the damage. Well, it was better than being in detention for the rest of his life like he was threatened with if he didn’t do what they asked of him. He was smart enough to know that was probably a really bad thing.

Right now he was busy hunting, searching for creatures to put to shame or better yet eat! He was out in the woods for hours doing just that, burning off the pent up energy from being stuck in school all the time. Today was different. As the sun began to set over the horizon, the shadows began to stretch, casting an ominous feel over the woods. This was the best time to hunt! Most nocturnal creatures were deadly and…weird-looking. This evening though was different…Very Different.

The winds shifted and he picked up another scent, something he hadn’t picked up for a very long time. How was that possible??? He had been all over the campus. He should have known…

That there was another wolf. He was prowling tonight; just like Cross was. The adrenaline began to work slowly into his system. He wasn’t terrified or upset. He was excited. ” Hey why don’t you come out!...Or are you too chicken, huh?!” He shouted to no one in particular. He couldn’t see the other wolf, but Cross knew he was out there somewhere.

<div align=center>There was something in the air tonight, large, amber eyes flickered back and forth against the dying light, the moon hanging hazy and full above him, casting creepy shadows across the trees and making children's monsters come to life before him. Someone else was here, something else. A low growl resounded in the creatures throat, lips rolling back to reveal a maw full of large, white fangs that glinted menacingly in the moonlight, stained with the crimson blood of the carcass of a stag that lay a few meters back. Not that was much left of it anymore, nothing more than a few limbs and a head sporting a gormless expression.

A voice? Obi's ears pricked up, and the animal raised his great head in an effort to listen for it again. Nose twitching, an unfamiliar scent met his nostrils. This creature was not the same as he had been as a human, he was a feral beastly creature with the mind of a monster, rather than that of a human. Lowering himself to all fours, the wolf prowled forward, ears pinned to his skull. Humans. Humans were meek creatures who deserved no mercy, the beast would tear this one apart with no problem whatsoever. Large, orange eyes narrowed, and a loud snarl rumbled from the bottom of his chest. Prey.</div>

He sniffed the air—There. He eyed at the darkness where the scent was coming from. This wolf…Mmm, yes he meant hardcore business. Most people embraced the animal within, succumbing to the intoxicating power. Even he thought he was a god. It made you feel like one anyway, knowing you could easily rip through a school bus or survive a ten foot drop and live to tell about it. That’s why most of his kind didn’t live long. It was rare for him to encounter another wolf besides the very few that decided to challenge him in his raging past. That was why this revelation startled him just a little. How he missed such a strong one was beyond him. Maybe he carried Wolfsbane on him all the time, who knew? Susan carried that stuff on the first day they met so the thought of it didn’t go past him.

It didn’t matter though. This wolf was on the hunt and had already claimed a meal. Along with the musky scent of the male came the scent of fresh blood; a solid stag to be precise. The blood was so strong, he could taste it on his tongue, driving his own beast into a frenzy. The other male had to be stalking him now. He had to know that he too bore the curse. Having the curse was like a beacon, a ‘tag’ for others to keep track of each other. It was weird like that. It was like walking along and spotting a random person across the street that just so happened to be a distant relative and somehow you knew it.

Obviously it wasn’t going to matter to this wolf. Cross was book stupid, but he wasn’t stupid when it came to his instincts and right now his instincts were telling him that this wolf was intent on killing him. The first thing he did was get rid of his boots because they were a pain when the bones started to shift around in the boot and expensive when the claws ripped them up. His eyes flickered gold and he grinned, seeing the wolf emerge. He was a big guy and it was probably a good thing he was changing for this fight because even though he was so awesome while he was human, the werewolf could easily pull out his guts and drape them over the trees like party streamers and Cross wouldn’t be able to stuff them back in fast enough.

The Hum grew louder in his ear as he quickly began to change, bones realigning, coats of fur covering, clothes shredding, teeth gnashing. He couldn’t talk at this point since his tongue was swelling and his jaw was breaking. It would have sounded like Ihaffeyourfsshh which was what he was immediately thinking about right now. The wolf within him was unleashed and his muscled, red-furred self stood tall. His ears pinned back and he too snarled and began to circle, cautiously stepping around his foe, clawed hands raised and massive shoulders hunched as if he were going to pounce. ALPHA. There was no way he was going to be killed today. He had lived for so long. I. AM. He snarled and roared, his boast echoing throughout the woods. Creatures scurried away from the battleground and hopefully students were wise enough to stay at the campus. This wolf was going to bite off more than he could chew.

I. AM. ALPHA.

<div align=center>A snarl rose up from the other wolf, dark, matted fur barely visible against the dull backdrop of the woodland, only a black mass clear behind that pair of fiery orange eyes. Obi's speech left him in this form, only able to communicate in animalistic noises that most likely made no sense to any human. It was loud and clear to any other animal, however. Leave. The creature wasn't sure how long the other had been around, but this was his territory. This was his home and of course saw any other lycan as a threat, friendly or otherwise. Obi was certainly not friendly.

The fur on the back of his neck bristled at the roar, his ears flicked backwards and the deadly smile bearing his teeth only grew wider. Lowering his head, the creature charged, paws hitting the forest floor beneath him in a rhythmic thud, thud, thud pattern. The black wolf's head hit Cross square in the middle of his chest, the animal stumbled, crashing against the red wolf once more and pouncing away a meter or two to get a better look at his enemy. Head down, on all fours. Cross' instincts were right. This dog meant business. He was out to kill, and any other outcome would be a failure.</div>

Cross braced himself for the impact and the enemy wolf hit him like a truck. He skidded back on his heels, but to hell with being the first to be tossed in the dirt! A grunt escaped the werewolf upon impact. It would have been the perfect opportunity to grab the black wolf, but he was too quick! Clawed hands swiped at nothing but air as the enemy leapt back to analyze him further. FAST. STRONG That was a warning shot—A test at best, but Cross knew the enemy wolf had no problems killing him. Cross felt the same.

This time he barked and it was his turn to charge. Cross anxiously went for another swipe with claws capable of rendering flesh to ribbons. He swiped for Obi’s face but in his excitement, he swiped too soon! The tips of his claws missed Obi’s snout by mere inches but despite that miss, the red werewolf was ready to bulldoze Obi into the ground. It was better to get on top of his opponent after all and hopefully he did! Claws were going to be tearing into Obi’s flesh. He wanted to taste his enemy’s blood, chew on his jugular, and rip out his intestines. KILL. All he had to do was get Obi pinned down. That’s all he had to do, right?! The stench of blood from Obi’s last kill was driving Cross into a frenzy. KILL!
