Eli had been sitting at the computer for the better part of an hour. His journal rested next to it with various notes scribbled down along the lines of 'Why can't I get it to work?'
He rested his head on his hands as he stared at the blank screen. The poor guy hadn't even been able to turn it on. He finally sighed as he admitted defeat and looked around the library for anyone who could help him work the computer.

The library was not a place Henghai usually visited. He was often alone in his classroom doing work, and if he wanted more company, he would go home. Today, however, Henghai wanted something different. The academy's library was expansive with all sorts of knowledge that Henghai had yet to check out.

He did not come here with a specific book in mind. Plants and medical techniques were the obvious choices for him, but he wanted something new. Roaming through the library, Henghai would occasionally stop to pick out a book, flip through it, then put it away for something more interesting before resuming his lazy stroll.

Eli rose up from his chair, careful to not cause much noise. He picked up the journal and snapped it shut before he slipped it into one of the pockets in his trench coat.
He had spent much of his time since arriving to Manta Carlos in the library. Book after book to catch up 200 years worth of history. But the computer was something no book was helping get his head around.
He wandered over to the nearest person to him to ask for help. It just happened that Henghai was that nearest person.
”Excuse me... could I bother you for some help?”

Henghai stopped and turned towards the sound of someone asking him for help. The man asking was a familiar face from the recent camping trip. Eli, was it? Henghai had on his usual kind and relaxed smile as he waved towards Eli. It was only natural for someone to be attracted to Henghai for help. His status as a teacher, relaxed character, and, for the most part, unthreatening appearance made him a good option to approach for help.

"Hi. Eli, right? I don't think you'll be a bother at all. What do you need help with?"

Eli looked at Henghai. The more he did, the more relieved he felt. This was someone who went camping. Thank goodness.

”Yes, I’m Eli. You’re Henghai, if I’m remembering correctly.” His pronunciation was a bit off, but he was trying his best. “Look... I... need help with that machine over there.” He gestured to the direction of the computer. “It won’t cooperate...”

He didn’t seem entirely embarrassed, since Eli couldn’t really expect himself to be able to figure out the computer that quick. It’s just more he really didn’t want to be bothering someone if they had something more important to do.

Henghai's eyes followed Eli's gesture, though it was not obvious, as his eyes always looked closed. This should be easy enough. Henghai figured that after he explained to Eli how to turn on a computer and use different types of websites, Eli could figure things out for himself from there. After all, if he got confused, all he needed to do was look up his questions online.

"That's a computer," he responded matter-of-factly. He approached one that was nearby and sat down in the chair. "Are you having trouble turning it on? Logging in?"

Eli sat down and leans back in the chair. He took in a deep breath as he looked down at his hands, starting to fidget. “Yes. To... everything.” Now he sounded embarrassed.

He leaned forward again. “I can usually read a book and figure something out but... not this ‘computer’. It just won’t...” He sighed heavily as he rested his hands down in front of him. “I suppose you could call me old.” He joked.

”Once I know how to... work with it, I’m sure I’ll be able to figure it out myself.” He sounded as sincere as he could muster to be.

"No need to be so flustered. I've seen many people old and new have trouble using a computer. I was lucky enough to have a friend help me out and catch onto the concept quickly. Now, watch closely." Henghai did everything very slowly, just so Eli could register it all. The first step was to turn on the computer. Admittedly, Henghai was surprised at how he did not get through that step, but everyone had to start somewhere.

With that step done, he looked at Eli to ask, "Do you have a library card yet? You need one to have your own account here."

Eli watched Henghai turn on the computer, and even subtly copied some the motions in front of him. It was the best way for him to register and remember other than taking notes in his journal, and he didn't want to look away.

Then Henghai asked about the library card. He took a few moments to register what that could be before he rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh. "No, I don't have a library card." He looked down in front of him.

"The front desk should help you with that later. For now, I'll log you into the guest account." Henghai had little intention to help Eli through the process of getting a library card. That should be simple enough for him to do on his own, and Henghai had other things he wanted to do today.

Opening up the browser, Henghai gestured for Eli to come closer and look. "Do you know how to use the internet? It's very simple."
