Eli slowly nodded. "I'll go speak to them after this." He leaned back in his chair a bit, causing the chair to just tip ever so slightly as he continued to watch Henghai on the computer.

Eli blinked. The man didn't even know how to turn on a computer before today. No, he does not know how to use the internet. "Um... no, I don't think I do know how to use the 'internet'. I have read it is a place for information, though." He still had a nervous tone to his voice as he spoke.

Henghai nodded towards Eli. "Good. You need one to check out books. Now then, the internet can be used for almost anything. Socializing, research, games, news. Again, almost anything." Henghai said all of this with his usual relaxed tone of voice. He could tell that this tutoring session must have been giving Eli some anxiety, so he tried to word things as casually as possible. Nothing for him to be afraid of. His tone radiated, It's simple once you get the hang of it.

"Here, let me demonstrate." Henghai clicked on the search bar on the top of the screen, then typed in, How to use the internet, before pressing Enter on the keyboard. He did all of this slowly and carefully for Eli to see and process. From there, hundreds upon hundreds of search results appeared, with the most relevant and popular appearing at the top and some suggested searched also showing up.

"This should give you a good start. You should also learn is how to make an email, news websites, and social media. If you really find yourself lost, the school offers classes to help speed you up on things. Have you taken any?"

Eli listened to Henghai and nodded along. He briefly looked around the library. He’d love to have access to some the books here...

He was feeling calmer due to Henghai. He was feeling glad that he had decided to ask Henghai for help. But then he saw all of the results from the search. He eyes went wide as he got overwhelmed from it all.

He finally blinked and was able to absorb the information. It was a lot, but it looked like there was a lot of reading. Well, he does like reading at least.

Then there was the question about the classes. “Oh... I’ve been asked about classes a few times. No, I don’t attend any classes.” He leaned forward again to allow the chair to rest on the ground again.

Eli's anxiety was apparent just by a simple glance at him. "You don't have to read every result. You can just skim over the titles and summaries below and figure out what's the most relevant to you."

The classes thing was what interested Henghai the most. As far as he knew, Eli was from a very different age and was having trouble adapting to the island and modern technology in general. It was hard to tell if Eli simply had not considered classes before, or refused to take them. Either way, Henghai felt like it was his responsibility to convince Eli about the helpfulness of at least one class.

"I highly recommend classes. There's no age limit and if you're worried about people judging you, they won't. The school will also accommodate your schedule and learning style. What I'm worried about is that... you can barely turn on a computer. Have you at least considered cultural classes on the different species here or a class on modern technology? I've seen plenty of people who come to the island from an earlier period and try to navigate on their own and mess up badly, like thanking faes and indebting themselves or trying to steal from a dragon. There are plenty of pamphlets to get you caught up on everything, but the classes would give you a more in-depth explanation of everything. Anyways, I'm rambling, but my point is, not everyone will be so willing to assist you, and if you don't know your way around, you can ask the wrong person."

Eli sat and listened carefully. He can be a bit stubborn, and due to his general unease around other people still, he had been determined to try and learn everything himself. But, as Henghai spoke, he felt more and more uncertain with himself.

He glanced at the computer, looked around the library then finally looked back at Henghai. First he sighed, then “I’ll... give them a check.” He finally said.

There was a part of him that wanted to continue being stubborn, and to figure everything himself. But, he could remember some of the stories his mother told him as a child. He didn’t want to find himself in trouble due to his own stubbornness.

”I can’t guarantee I’ll go to them, to be honest but... I’ll at least consider them.” He crossed his arms, and leaned back in his chair a bit.

Henghai was relieved that Eli did not find himself overwhelmed by his spiel. He worried that he had gone too far and did more bad than good. Instead, Eli did what Henghai wanted. He considered the option. That was always the first step, and it was one Henghai was proud of Eli for taking.

"That's wonderful. I wouldn't ask you to guarantee it. That's not my place to decide. I'm only happy you're considering the option. It's never too late to take a class here, and if you do, you'll find things much easier for yourself."

With a proud expression, Henghai gave a light-hearted sigh before moving on.. "I think I've gone on enough though. If you need me to, I can show you where to find information on different species and their cultures but do you have any more questions about how to use a computer and the internet?"

Eli leaned back in his chair. He caught the prideful look and looked down for a moment. He just felt like a bit of an idiot, now.

He looked back at Henghai and the computer. He slowly nodded. “Yeah, I think I should be able to handle this myself, now.” He sounded honest.

He looked more at the computer. But, there was now a fair amount in his mind. The computer, figuring out the culture, the classes, all the different things he now has to keep in mind. “Yeah... I’ll give it a go...”

Did he go too far this time? It seemed so. Eli looked down from Henghai with a less-than-thankful expression. "I did not mean to upset you, I was only trying to give you some advice."

Henghai stood up from his chair, moving out of the way so Eli could sit in his place and try it all out for himself. A part of him genuinely felt bad for apparently hurting Eli, but another part of him did not think he did anything wrong. Eli was still mostly a stranger to him, and as far as Henghai could tell, he was a fully grown adult.

"I'll stand by for a bit in case you need more help, alright?"

Eli looks at Henghai, then at the computer, then back again. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled.

He got up briefly to sit down in front of the computer. He put his hand on the mouse, and his eyes widened at seeing the cursor on the screen move as well. He clicked on the first link. He began skimming through it, and slowly scrolled down.

He looked back at Henghai again. “I’m... sorry. I can be... difficult.” He admitted.

That was... unexpected. Henghai stood by patiently to watch Eli handle the computer. It looked like things were going well, other than his apology. That is, until he did it again, this time looking directly at Henghai and speaking louder.

"You come from a different time. It can be difficult adjusting to a different period. This island tends to shock everyone not already familiar with the supernatural community. It just makes you need time to learn and adapt."
