Fiddling with his pocket watch and lightly tapping his foot, Monday glanced around himself, reading the posters on the walls, counting the tiles on the ceiling, and just feeling a teensy bit nervous as he waited impatiently for the social worker to appear.
Gabriel had not really expected to be chosen as a foster parent, someone to take in a Neko. He had filled out the papers on a whim when he had heard about the need for people willing to take them in and provide them with a safe and secure environment. And even when they'd called him back for an exhaustive interview and later a house inspection along with informative classes regarding NEKOs. Monday still wasn't too sure that they'd actually allow a single man, a cursed witch at that, to be a foster parent.
So when he had received a letter a week ago, along with a phone call last night, telling him he could come and meet, and take home his charge, he was extremely surprised and elated, and yes, nervous too. An irrational fear that something might happen, that somehow the Endless Sea would take him like it had his family persisted.
Thankfully, Candle, stoic as always, had in a way calmed his fears with her calm nature and her innate ability to put the logic in the illogical.
