Taking a walk

"I am sure you sing really well." said Ian with a smile as they kept walking. "I don't know why I came to the lake. I didn't feel like going to the dance, and I didn't really have anywhere else to go, so I figured I would just come here and relax a bit."

"The dance?" She asked him, she never heard of any dance. Maybe it was something she didn't know about because she was new or because she didn't even bother to step outside of her room until now.

"Yeah." said Ian, "Eeveryone has been running around getting dates and stuff and there is a dance in the ballroom." Ian put his hands in his pockets. "I went for a little while.." he said, "But I just sat there the whole time.."

"Oh...." Kacey said, "Maybe I should check it out then, see why everyone is excited for myself." Kacey said thinking about going, "Ok.....that's not the reason I want to go....I never been to a school dance before...I've been home schooled all my life." Kacey admitted.

"Oh, I have never been home schooled." Ian shrugged, "There's a lot of people at the dance though." he said.

Kacey nodded, " So many people in one room?" She asked, Kacey had never been in a place like that before in her life and strangely it made her curious.

"Well, it is a big room." he said. "And like,everyone dances and stuff, or at least most people do."

"Oh......I don't have to go with a date do I?" She asked him, She was getting more and more curious about they whole dance thing. Why did people like it so much anyway?

"Dates aren't required, although a lot of people feel really weird not having on there. They like it because they get to e with people they like and a lot of times they go off somewhere nice with they're dates."

"Ok..... I'll go later." She said and added, "If you want to go back, you can come with me if you like. As friends." Kacey said.
