Anna gave a soft giggle. He certainly liked to compare her to birds, and she supposed now it wasn't far off from the truth, with these giant feathery extensions. "You certainly know how to make a girl feel good about herself, Anatolii, I'll give you that."

A splashing sound drew her attention and she gazed across the shore at the mermaid that had surfaced and now sat a few yards away. She lifted her hand to wave at the other female casually before turning her attention back to her friend.

"Hey, I was thinking..." she shifted a little, "Now that my leg is all fixed up and I can work again, I was wondering if you wanted to come and see my act this weekend? At the club," she smiled. "Miss Vanessa puts me in this fancy dress and lets me sing, or play piano or harp. It's a lot of fun. I can get you in." She loved to perform, especially when it was for her friends.

Anatolii took pride in the fact that his evident idiotic need to compare Anna to birds was at least seen by her as a positive thing and not as an insult. He hoped that eventually, he would not have to refer to her as an attractive bird and instead call her an attractive person. However, he wasn't going to hold his breath.
Anatolii joined in to wave at the newcomer, evidently they weren't alone at the lake after all. "Sure," he responded to Anna, "that sounds pretty alright with me!" It's not like he was doing anything better, not that he could think of a situation which would actually take precedent over him going and seeing his best friend perform. He was already running through ideas of what he was going to do in preparation for the event, even though he would most likely end up forgetting and have to do everything at the last minute.

A wave? Was that all she got? The two looked like they were having a nice private conversation, guessing there was maybe a spark there. She hoped so, one of her favourite things to do was mess with a relationship. Letting out a small sigh, she rose and wandered slowly over to the pair, sitting in between them.

Turning to the boy, Mia asked, "Hey. So what's your name?" He looked around her age but that rarely affected her decision in wanting to get to know a person. She turned her back completely on the other girl as she spoke to the guy. "I'm Mia Undine. You've probably heard about me," she introduced, flicking her hair. Her idea of her popularity was always overestimated. On the island, she could count her friends on one hand, maybe even a single finger, but she still acted as though she had as many friends as she did back home. Mia was not liked by many in her new home.

Anna grinned. He was going to come and see her perform. She was excited for it...she should call Vanessa later tonight and make sure it was all okay, then work on her set a bit and see what she could tweak or add in...

Her thoughts were interrupted as the mermaid from across the lake came up and interrupted their conversation, putting herself between the two friends and completely ignoring Anna while she spoke to Anatolii. Anna's feathers ruffled up a little and she gave the girl a look between discomfort and annoyance. That was...really rude.

She didn't really know what to do, though. Anna didn't want to be rude in return...sinking to that level was just not how she operated. She looked to Anatolii for help, wondering what he would do in response to this mermaid who...for all the world appeared to be flirting with him while they had been mid-conversation.
