"Well then," Anatolii said aloud, "I didn't know this was here." He was currently staring at a lake that he had previously been oblivious of. This is what wandering around in no particular direction got him. Sure, he wouldn't be able to find his way home without more aimless wandering but, at least he found a nice place to relax. He briefly debated whether or not to go for a swim before deciding he was just going to sit at the edge.

Anatolii kicked his shoes and socks off and set them a couple feet behind him so they'd keep dry. He then sat down at the edge of the water, close enough that only his ankles would get wet. He made a mental note to bring a towel along with him next time so he could actually go for a swim.

The water was a lot warmer here than any other body of water he'd been in. Those were usually rivers or the occasional ocean, he couldn't remember if he'd been in a lake before.

Anna was enjoying what she had begun to call her "siren form". What was more, she was enjoying her freedom from that damned wheelchair; a doctor with powers had come into town and healed her leg and ribs completely. She felt as good as new. Maybe better.

Standing on the roof of the dorm building, she let the small sick feeling pass through her as her wings blossomed from her back, unfurling and stretching out wide. She'd been smart and put on a halter top with an open back, so that she didn't go tearing holes in all of her clothes. With a small breath, she beat the air with her wings and took off into the air. Everything looked so amazing from up here. She made her way around the school's grounds. It was good for her to practice flying. The first couple of times had been a little shaky, but she was finally starting to get the hang of it. It wasn't all that hard, she'd discovered. It just took some focus.

Angling her wings, she made a turn and headed out over the lake, spotting someone familiar down below. "Anatolii~" she called his name from the air, folding in her wings a little to let herself drop out of the air and closer to the ground.

Takeoff was easy; it was landing that had been tricky. She used her large feathery extensions to slow her descent as the ground got closer, then beat her wings hard a few times to keep herself from crashing onto the grass, creating a considerable amount of wind around her as she did so. Once she was only a few feet from the ground, she let herself drop down the rest of the way and shook out her wings a little before folding them at her back.

"How's the water?" she asked, greeting him with a bright smile.

Anatolii had been pretty content with just listening to the noise of the wilderness and relaxing by the water, but then he heard someone call his name. It sounded like it came from above him? He looked up, confused as to what might be calling his name from above him. However, no more answers were provided, it appeared the source of his name was a bird. That only confused him further. It seemed that the bird was landing though, so maybe it might explain itself. On closer inspection, he realized that it was a rather large bird. Maybe a crane? Or a stork?

Once the feather being landed, Anatolii was able to confirm that it was neither a crane nor a stork. It was an Anna. He waved, "Warm. I'm used to rivers, they're colder." Upon completion of his sentence, he was immediately struck by how attractive she was. Again. As with their previous conversation, Anatolii steeled himself to resist the urge to say something idiotic. "How is the pretty duck today?" He evidently was less steel and more styrofoam. He groaned and shook his head, "Sorry. That was sounded incredibly dumb. Forget I said that, or that I can talk."

Mentally berating himself evidently was not enough to keep his inner idiocy from becoming outward stupidity. Anatolii was planning that trip to a deep dark hole, that was probably the only thing that was going to keep him fro making a fool of himself.

Anna laughed, the feathers of her wrings ruffling pleasantly. A few black feathers fell onto the grass below. "It's okay. I'm doing great! My leg and ribs are all fixed, the dumb wheelchair is gone, and I've been practicing my flying almost every day. My landings are still a little shaky, but I'm starting to get the hang of it," she grinned. The arches of her wings poked up a good few inches over her shoulders, giving her an angel-like appearance.

She kicked off her sandals and moved closer, padding barefoot through the grass and letting the water hit her toes. "Ooh, it is warm," she agreed, glad she'd worn shorts as she waded in up to her mid-calves. The tips of her wings brushed the surface of the water.

"What have you been up to? Haven't seen you for a few days. I told you that you couldn't hide from me forever," she reached out with one of her wings and prodded at him playfully before folding it back up again.

Anatolii listened as she ran through what had happened since they had last spoke. "Flying must be nice, a lot of solitude up there. I'd be careful around hunting season though, otherwise..." Anatolii cocked an imaginary shotgun and then fired it, complete with proper sound effects. He wasn't entirely sure of the hunting seasons of an island or whether the natives would even try to hunt flying prey when it was a fifty/fifty shot that it wasn't a bird. "You wouldn't make for a particularly pretty duck with a belly full of twelve gauge."

Anatolii mentally groaned, if he was going to keep saying stupid things, the least he could do was stop talking about ducks. "I've been wandering around mostly, trying to get my bearings on it all. Nobody told me there was a lake. Or maybe they did?" He remembered a mental note about visiting something when it was less populated, it very well could've been the lake.

"Once I feel pretty confident that I can maneuver around this place, I've evidently got a whole city to explore." That was going to be a challenge for Anatolii, if it was a particularly large city, there'd be a lot of similar looking buildings. He was going to have to find a landmark to start from so he could ask for directions back to it in case he got lost.

Anna grimaced, holding her stomach. "I'm pretty sure that's not a thing here. I hope it's not a thing," she replied. Hunting shouldn't be a thing, and if it was, she was certainly going to have to take caution. Even in the air, she was pretty big to be mistaken for a typical bird. She hoped that if that was the case, it would all be taken into account. Besides, hunting, on school grounds? That didn't sound like something this place would allow.

"I like the lake. I like to come here and meditate, and practice my powers. I've gotten sort of good. Normally it only works with touch, but lately I've found out how to extend it into a sort of aura around me. I can't make it last for very long, but I get better the more I practice with it. It makes a pretty good place to sing, too. The water carries the sound pretty well."

She shifted her weight from one foot to the other - man was it nice to be able to stand on both of her feet again. A light breeze picked up, rustling through her feathers and blowing her black wavy hair back from her face. She stared out across the lake, taking in the peacefulness of it all. Yes, she was going to be pretty happy here.

Hunters were probably a rarity on school grounds, especially hunters looking for cranes. Anatolii was unsure if there was even a season for cranes or why one would want to hunt them. There probably wasn't a whole lot of meat on them. "I doubt it is. Just bob and weave if you hear something cock." It was an unlikely event, but it could never hurt to be prepared for the unlikely.

"Meditation is pretty good." Anatolii didn't really meditate. He was pretty sure you were supposed to ruminate on the meanings of life while you meditated, Anatolii preferred to just let his mind go blank and mindlessly sit in one spot for prolonged periods of time. "I'm glad your expanding your powers." Maybe that was why he couldn't resist thinking she was attractive, it was the aura thing she was talking about. He doubted she was doing it intentionally, he would just chalk it up to an accidental power usage.

"Practice makes perfect, right?"

"I suppose I'll have to practice my combat flight maneuvers," she grinned. She hadn't really tried anything fancy yet other than takeoff, flight, and landing, and she was still working on those as it was. It would be really cool to do some barrel rolls or something. Flying was such a joy to her. She loved it.

"Meditation is hard," she replied, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "You have to just sit there and focus. Sometimes there's so many thoughts buzzing around my head that I just give up. But on my good days, I can do it. I just have to focus on honing my emotions and then pushing them outwards. I've also learned that if I use it too much, it gives me a wicked headache," she tapped her temple. "I try to only use my powers when I need to."

Reaching up, she adjusted the knot of her halter top at the back of her neck, pulling it a little tighter. "So, what have you been up to?" she glanced over at him and brought her arms back down to her sides.

"There ya go! We'll turn you into a dogfighting ace in no time!" Anatolii chuckled, he really had no experience in aerial combat but he was pretty sure he could wing it. Pun intended. "First things first, we're going to have to mount a machine gun on your head. Now, it might be heavy, but it will come in handy."

"I've never really had that difficult of time with vegetating." Anatolii shrugged, "However, at any given time, my inner thoughts are at least thirty percent radio static. So, I guess it would be pretty easy to clear your mind of that." All he ever had to do was just sit in silence long enough and his brain would kind of just wander off without him. Eventually his mind would get bored and then everything just went quiet.

"So long as there aren't any distractions, like a pretty duck or a similarly attractive water fowl, than usually I can just veg for a couple of hours at a time." Anatolii was really going to have to find something to compare her to, other than birds.

Mia drifted peacefully at the depths of the lake, slowly meandering through plants and rocks. She liked being down there, it offered a place to think, to have time to herself. Liking to put on a front of being one of the narcissistic 'cool' kids, it was nice to just be herself. It was true, she did admire her looks, but all she wanted was some attention from people, something she lacked from her childhood.

With a small flick of her tail, she began to shoot upwards towards the surface. Slowing her pace, she drifted out of the water and slid to face the lake whilst perching on the shore. She sat there for a moment, dazily gazing out into the horizon, until she noticed people not far from her. Instantly, her hair trailed through her long teal locks, making sure she looked as though she was on some sort of shampoo advert.
