"Oh that's right! I remember now."
That had also been the time that Adryan had, for lack of a better term, walked Hah'en home. That had still been early in their budding new friendship, and Hah'en had still been extremely careful around him.
"We also talked a bit that day. Who would've thought we would end up here drinking together."
Not Adryan. He might have hoped it would turn out like it did, but he didn't expect it to initially. He continued to idly sip on hos drink. The more he did the more he became relaxed in his posture. Shoulders relaxed and his smile seemed to come out easier.

Hah'en almost wished Adryan didn't remember her defeat, but naturally that was in vain. It had been the first step for them towards what they had now, and what they would probably have in the future.

"Life is full of all kinds of surprises."
Hah'en said, swishing her drink around idly. She was slowly accepting that Adryan sticking around in her life was a pleasant surprise. It was no use in the first place to keep denying it. But Hah'en would only admit it to Adryan over her dead body, she didn't want Adryan getting any more smug.

Adryan smiled and let out a pleasant huff. He knew the comment was as close to her admitting she was pleasantly surprised by what they had. It wouldn't do any good to continue pushing the issue, so he just smiled and took another sip of his drink.

"I can agree with that sentiment."

The thief did find himself looking at Hah'en more than he normally did. The alcohol shutting down any reservations he might have had. An elbow came up on the table and he planted his head in his palm as he stirred his drink a little.

"So how often do you normally go out for drinks?"

The drink was almost gone already and Hah'en was in the state where her head was swimming pleasantly and her limbs felt nice and light. The most dangerous stage. She tapped her fingers against her glass and tilted her head a bit when Adryan asked his question. Hah'en was about to answer when a loud whistle across the snug pub caught her attention.

"Hey Hah'en! You look like you're around 4 or 5 drinks in, sing us something, please!"
The yeller was one of the regulars, an older gentleman whose drinking buddies were sending Hah'en pleading looks and grins. Hah'en rolled her eyes, but despite that she also found herself standing up. She sent Adryan a small smile as she walked past him and said
"Often enough for these fools to have become comfortable enough to ask me that."

Hah'en walked to the mic, her steps were steady but there was a certain kind of swagger to her step. The kind of swagger that attracted the kind of attention that Hah'en definitely didn't enjoy. Few people who clearly didn't come here often wolf whistled at her and catcalled, using rather vulgar language. Some of the patrons sent unsavoury looks towards them, but Hah'en ignored them for now. She knew just what song she would sing.

Hah'en grabbed the mic with confidence, and she suddenly was glad she'd worn her long leather boots with the metal spike studs on the side of the heels tonight. They got her in the mood to sing this song.
Hah'en didn't need music, she just started singing. Her voice was low and melodious, as she began to sing a loud, cocky-sounding song with undertones of anger. It was in her native tongue so no one here could probably understand it outside Adryan. The lyrics were about a woman who was on a mission to destroy the life of her rival, aka. her ex-lover. Yet another song Hah'en knew by heart, she'd sung this countless of times after she'd left one of her previous lovers.

As Hah'en sang she detached the mic from the mic stand and started to walk among the crowd. At one point she even climbed on a table, and stomped a beat to the surface of the wood. The pub goers started clapping their hands along, and that was when Hah'en nailed the catcallers from earlier with a glare. She was at a part of the song where the woman yelled threats and promises of pain at her rival/ex-lover, and while she sang that part Hah'en approached the rude patrons, kicked their chairs over with one swift leg swoop and yelled the last part of the song at their faces while they lay on the floor, eyes wide.

Yet again it was quiet for a moment after Hah'en finished, but Hah'en didn't care. She simply threw her tousled hair over her shoulder, walked back to the stage and slipped the mic back to the stand. And that was when everyone started clapping. Hah'en had a small pleased smile on her face, but outside that showed no reaction to the claps. The rude patrons Hah'en had made part of her show quickly stood up and left the pub, hopefully to never return.
Hah'en returned to her seat, sliding some of her hair behind her hair and gave Adryan a small lopsided smile.
"I will tell you now, this will not happen outside this pub, nor will you tell people of this, or the threats from my song will become a reality to you."
Hah'en knew Adryan most likely would not tell anyone, but it was a matter of principle. The small smile on Hah'en's face said as much.

Adryan couldn't help but join in their pleading looks. If they knew her well enough to know she might do this, he wanted to see it. This was a side of her that he had never seen or experienced.
As she walked to the mic Adryan admired the stride she had. It was hard not to, but he knew better than to comment on it. It seemed a few individuals didn't know that. There was a tinge of something in his gut as he heard the whistling and catcalls. Jealousy? Anger? But why? He shook it off for the moment as she began.
Hazel green eyes watched her carefully as he finished the rest of his drink. Nux immediately translated for him. The story was fascinating and full of emotion. Then it clicked. Was this about her?
A laugh came about him when she took the chair out from under the guy that had been calling her and threw the threats his direction. The guy had no clue what she was saying but her demeanor was enough for him to slink out with his pride tucked.
Adryan joined in on the applause as she walked back over to him. A smile a mile wide on his face. He threw his hands up when she threatened him.
"Pinky promise."
He held his pinky out to her recalling the first time he had pinky promised her.
"But you know I'm going to ask.... the story mean anything personally? "

Hah'en couldn't help but snort, when Adryan offered her a pinky promise, but she reached out and hooked their pinkies anyway. She had looked up what pinky promise meant after that gala and had been surprised that the children of this world would make each other do such things over a broken promise.

Of course Adryan asked, it had been obvious that Hah'en projected genuine emotion during that song. Hah'en downed the rest of the drink and let out a bitter chuckle.
"Let us just say I do not have the best taste in men, and for one my former lovers the threats in that song became a reality. I did not kill him, but I left him hanging from a pole in the nude in the middle of a town, beaten both physically and emotionally."

Adryan smiled even she took his pinky. He knew better than to break this one as she would come for more than just his pinky. Besides, he wasn't going to ruin their budding friendship on something like that.
The drunk was downed and a chuckle came from her lips. This was most definitely a completely different Hah'en than he had experienced yet. Honestly, he enjoyed it. Adryan winced a little as she explained what she did to one of her past lovers.
"As if it wasn't clear before, noted to not tick you off."
Adryan finished off the last of his drink before smiling back to Hah'en.
"I would say your taste in men is improving, but I am only a petty thief."
A quick and flirty wink happened before even Adryan realized what he was doing. Well, what's done is done. Only now to just prepare to go through a wall.

They had finally reached a point of drunkenness where Adryan was actually flirting with Hah'en. Which was made even more ironic by the fact that Adryan in fact was the type of man Hah'en usually ended up with. She would've laughed if it wasn't so eyeroll-inducing. Well, in the end Hah'en did both, letting out an unamused chuckle while rolling her eyes.

"My taste in men is not improving, it's not going anywhere, there aren't any men around me to tip the scale."
Hah'en answered and gave Adryan a small smirk. Yes, he was attractive, but Hah'en would rather avoid romances of any kind for now. She was still in the middle of getting accustomed to this place and getting her heart broken again wouldn't help with that.

The alcohol had definitely gotten to them both. Adryan put on a face of mocked disbelief. One that was only broken by his smile.
"Well that's rude. I'll have you know I'm a man of my word, Ms. Hah'en."
Was Adryan attracted to Hah'en? Yes, absolutely. Did he think he had a chance? Absolutely not. What he was ok with, however, was the fact that their friendship at least seemed to be growing. They certainly came a long way from when she had thrown him out a window.
"But I'll continue to be the bad influence on you. Besides what're friends for?"
He smirked and held up his empty glass in an ironic cheers to each other.

"I have had influences in my life much worse than you, I doubt you will be able to even make a dent on me"
Hah'en said with a snort, and lifted her glass to meet Adryan's. The empty glasses clinked against each other and the sharp noise made Hah'en's head hurt.

"And with that I say we bring this night to a close. The time is..."
Hah'en pulled out her phone and peered at the screen, her eyes bit blurry.
"Just past midnight, which means you have proven yourself to be at least adequate drinking companion."
Hah'en swallowed a giggle and leaned on the table, tilting her head a bit so her hair fell over her shoulder and curtained one side of her face. Her eyes were almost halfway closed in a manner that could be almost called seductive.
"Would you like to walk me home?"
