The smile she had on was the first thing Adryan noticed when she lowered her glass. It made his grin grow into a full fledged smile as she spoke. So she wasn't too offended by Nux. That was good. Adryan just knew he'd have to be careful when he let him oit a bit more now.
"Well glad it was at least entertaining. He can be a handful. Most of the time he's a handful. But without Nux I would be incredibly lonely."
Why did Adryan just admit that? He looked down briefly at his drink and noticed half of it was gone already. It had to be getting to him.
"I mean not when you're around. I love it when you're around. I mean..."
Adryan just stopped talking. He needed to collect himself before he continued.

"That is surprising, you seem very socially adept. So much so I still wonder why you enjoy my company."
Hah'en answered when Adryan mentioned he would be lonely without Nux, and immediately wanted to slap herself for those words. Her filter was almost entirely gone, as was the alcohol in her glass. That wasn't good. Hah'en decided to cut herself off here...after the next round.

The alcohol was getting to them both, because when Adryan admitted to not liking but loving Hah'en's company and then shut himself up Hah'en let out a laugh. Not a snort or a huff, but a full-fledged laugh. It was short, but a laugh nevertheless, and the smile remained on her face afterwards as Hah'en peered at Adryan.
"I know what you meant, Adryan."
Hah'en assured, amusement still prominent in her voice.

"It's entirely possible to be in a crowd of people, even the center of attention in that crowd, and be completely lonely."
Adryan just shrugged a little. He learned to be a socialite out of necessity to survive. Then out of necessity for his job. Those interactions were fake. Adryan was always someone else when they happened. Never himself.
The laugh came completely by surprise. It was almost over the top compared to her normal calm and connected demeanor. He wasn't the only one affected by the drinks it seemed. Speaking of drinks, Adryan downed the last of his drink before setting the glass on the table. A genuine charming smile came to his face
"Well that makes one of us."
A small chuckle came from his lips at his joke.

"I suppose..."
Hah'en said hesitantly, because she was surprised yet again to hear those words from Adryan's mouth. She had often felt what he described, loneliness amidst a crowd. But she had always thought that was because she was a solitary individual, she had always thought the people talking in the small circles in a crowd were not lonely in the slightest. But she had never actually questioned one of those people about it, hadn't even doubted.
Hah'en prided herself in being perceptive, but she had missed such an important detail. How foolish of her.

Hah'en didn't bother stopping the chuckle that came out to accompany Adryan's. Her head was feeling light, the first sign of her getting in too deep. If she had two or three more drinks things wouldn't be good. Hah'en definitely did not want to be around Adryan when she was fully drunk, it wasn't a pretty sight when compared to her usual straight-laced self. Besides, she had work tomorrow.
"You clearly meant it's better to have a friend to talk to that doesn't make people think you are insane when you talk to them."
Hah'en said, her formal way of speech slipping away slightly, and she covered her mouth when a faint giggle escaped. A fucking giggle. That was it, Hah'en wasn't drinking any more. Not if she was starting to giggle.

Adryan raised an eyebrow at her giggle as she covered it up. She was definitely letting loose. Honestly it was kinda nice to see Hah'en let go a bit and drop the no nonsense vibe.
"Yea... worried about people thinking I'm crazy... that's it."
He laughed a little again. Adryan just didn't want to admit that he didn't have any true friends. Everyone that actually knew him was a business contract. Outside of that he had Mukuchi.... and that wasn't a healthy friendship.... and Hah'en.
"Well I was gonna go get our next round but I guess I'll ask if you want another. I'm planning on at least one more."

Hah'en refused to acknowledge that she had giggled and thus ignored the eyebrow Adryan raised at her. She wanted to at least try and uphold her dignity. But Hah'en was at a point of intoxication where she had a faint smile on her face constantly.

"I shouldn't drink anymore, I'd rather not show you how I am when actually drunk."
Hah'en said, she wasn't slurring but her words were definitely more informal. She leaned her chin on her palm, as she set her elbow on the table. Normally that was against proper manners, but Hah'en was starting to not care.
"But I'm not against you drinking, it would actually be entertaining to see what kind of drunk you are."
Hah'en almost giggled again, but she masked it as a cough. Not very smooth but she had prevented another giggle so she'd take it.

Adryan narrowed his at her as she faked a cough. It was rather obvious but he'd leave her to it and let it go. He pointed a single finger to her and moved back over to the bar. He talked to the bartender a moment and then awaited his return.
When he returned he sat down two orange drinks and smiled to Adryan. The thief thanked him and made his way back to the table with both drinks in hand. He sat down and placed one in front of Hah'en.
"Hurricane. Fair is fair. You want me to keep drinking.... you're doing the same."
A mischievous grin appeared on his face as he took a sip of the sweet drink.

Hah'en eyed the drink that Adryan had set before her, a Hurricane. Hah'en should've known better than to expect Adryan to accept her words that easily. Hurricane wasn't the strongest drink out there, but it might render Hah'en into quite the sorry state. Which was probably exactly what Adryan wanted, judging from the grin on his face. The night wasn't young anymore, but Hah'en would rather still stay here just a bit longer. If she needed to keep drinking for that to happen, then...so be it.

"Only this round."
Hah'en warned, and grabbed the drink. She said cheers, did her drinking ritual and took a sip. The drink was good, of course it was. Skyward Dragon had excellent drinks.
"I should ask Straga to give the bartender a raise."
Hah'en commented absently, a small fond smile on her face when she spoke Straga's name. The older dragon was the only other person on the island she could call something like a friend, and she looked up to him.

Adryan smiled as she seemingly caved to the next drink. He figured it wouldn't take much to convince her to take it. It brought a smile to his face that she accepted because it meant that she was enjoying the evening and his company.
"Just this round."
His voice was in agreement as he raised his glass to cheers her and took a sip of the tropical drink. It definitely was well made. Hah'en confirmed that as she mentioned the bartenders deserved a raise. He agreed.
"Straga? Assuming that's the owner?"
He also assumed Straga was a dragon like her, but he wasn't going to bring it up. She obviously didn't want that fact to be known so he was going to honor that.

"Yes. Straga was also the one who I lost against during my first match at the arena."
Hah'en explained, and there was a tinge of bitterness in her voice. Yes, she had known from the start she wouldn't win, she and Straga had even talked about the best ways to utilize her abilities without showing them off too much. But in the end, deep in her core, Hah'en hated losing. Her dragon's pride couldn't be extinguished.
