Despite the sharp chill that hung in the air, Ania refused to leave her spot on the ground. An earlier snow flurry had rained upon her, and left a small patch of green where she sat. The grass was covered in a thick coat of white, making the grounds almost unrecognisable. Huddling back into her warm coat, Ania's shape receded into a solid black blob. She was propped up against a tree, debating against getting up or staying down. Down required the least amount of effort, but it was cold. As much as she didn't enjoy being cold, she didn't enjoy moving around a whole lot either.

After a cursory glance to her schedule, she realised she didn't have any more classes to get to. That meant she could stay here as long as she could tolerate it. Zipping up the coat all the way, Ania folded her legs inside and mushed her face down as far as it would go, her nose hovering just above her knees. Squishing her arms backwards through the arm holes, Ania wrapped her arms around her knees and closed her eyes, humming an unrecognisable tune under her breath. Was this how bears felt when they hibernated for winter? Probably, but without big jackets to huddle into.

Flayace wasn't sure why she was outside, she had never been a fan of the cold. She liked the heat, when she could be in her bathing suit and be at the pool with her friends. She loved warmth, but or some reason, she wanted to be outside. The one plus thing about this place so far was that it was pretty. Flayace rezipped her coat, shivering when a gust of wind came her way. She was happy to close he eyes for a second, trying to see through the snow and people, for somewhere to sit. After a few seconds, she found a bench to sit on. She opened her eyes with joy, she loved to use her powers, even if they weren't all that interesting or powerful.

After sitting down, she closed her eyes again and scanned the courtyard. There were scattered people everywhere around her. She wanted, while she was out there, to find someone simple. That was a lot to ask in a way, with so maybe people with amazing powers. She saw one girl, up against a tree that got her attention. She though that this girl was the perfect person to make friends with. She opened up her eyes and put a smile on her face before getting up. She casually walked over to her. "Hey, I am Flayace." She said with her big smile.

The faint crunch of feet upon the icy grass alerted Ania of a presence, but she didn't feel quite like bringing her head back up yet. Nestling deeper into her coat as if to appear invisible, Ania jumped when a voice announced itself. Her head popped out of the burrow she had created, and a startled expression rested on her face. She glanced around before noticing a pair of legs. She looked up at the owner of the legs and noticed a pink haired person watching her. Her hair looked like cotton candy.

Pushing her hands back through the sleeves, Ania wiggled them a bit before offering up her hand. "I'm Ania. You have a nice name." Quietly introducing herself, Ania blinked, unsure of what to say next. "Your hair looks like cotton candy." She wanted to touch it, too. Ania wondered if it tasted as good as it looked. Hmm. If she wasn't tangled up in this coat, she might be tempted to hop up and try it. Maybe later, then. Staring with bright eyes at this person, Ania's nose twitched, searching for the telltale scent of spun sugar.

Flayace loved the girls name Ania, so short and cute. She smiled and shook the girls hand. "Nice to meet you, thank you." She was happy that someone liked her name. "I like your name too." She smiled again and sat down, not wanting to look weird. She laughed a bit at the comment on her hair. Cotton candy? She didn't think it was like cotton candy, but then again, she did always smell sweet. "I was actually a very rare shade of strawberry blonde. My hair was very pink as a child for some reason." She put her hands on her hair and moved them along the top.

She liked her hair, even though a lot of people made fun of it. She was happy that she looked different. "I like your eyes. Um." She thought for a moment, unsure of what to think of. Her mood changed quickly and she became confused and puzzled. With this, her eyes changed color. She looked away to think, then turned back to realize that her eyes must be different. She quickly closed her eyes and put a happy smile on for her eyes to change back to their normal green.

Ania gripped the hand that met hers. It was soft and warm, a welcome relief from the cold. This person sure did smile a whole lot. At least it was a nice smile. Rare shade, huh? She had never encountered pink hair, so that was plausible. Well, natural pink hair. She felt a pang of disappointment when Flayace didn't confirm that her hair was made out of cotton candy. It would be a wonderful and terrible thing, candy hair. It melts in the heat and rain, but feeds you. But when would you ever be desperate enough to eat your own hair?

Ania blinked in agreement when the stranger said her eyes were liked. Yes, she liked her own eyes too. They were a nice shade of red. Staring back at the person, Ania was about to make a comment about the other's eyes when they suddenly changed. Frowning, Ania squinted, trying to make sure that she wasn't imagining things. Though, right as she tried to inspect further, Flayace turned her head. "Did your eyes change, or is it just me?"
Couldn't hurt to ask, right?

Running her hand along the frost, Ania lifted her palm to her face, touching the tiny crystals that hadn't melted yet. It was odd how quickly they turned back into moisture. Watching Flayace, Ania was curious why anyone was even out here. Not many people willingly sat out in the cold, talking to strangers and changing eye colour. Maybe this new stranger had odd hobbies. "Why are you out here, anyway? Aren't you cold?"

Flayace blinked in shock when the girl asked about her eyes. She though that Ania had not noticed. She nodded in the direction of the girl before explaining. "Yeah, my eyes change color, when my mood changes. I can kind of feel when my change too, and because my emotions change really fast from one to the other, I try to be happy s no one sees." She sighed a bit and frowned at the girl to prove that her eyes did change color. After a few seconds of pouting and fake sobbing, her eyes changed.

Flayace grinned at Ania and her eyes changed back to their normal green. She paused for a second before she answered the other question. She was cold, she knew that, but why exactly was she out here? "I guess because I am new, trying to make new friends and look around I guess." She stopped and thought of why though? Her powers allowed her to see a long ways away before she got sick or hurt. She dropped the idea in her head, not wanting her eyes to change again. "Yeah I am cold, I don't really like coldness to be honest. I guess that I just wanted to give it another try." She looked right at Ania. "How about you? Why are you out here?"

Ania was stunned into silence. She had never met someone who had eyes that changed with their mood. Sure, plenty of people imagined that their eyes changed, but she had never really witnessed it. Curiously watching as the stranger demonstrated her ability, Ania's mouth formed a small 'o' in surprise. "It must be difficult, trying to be happy all the time." It was true, too. Being happy all the time was taxing, especially trying to be happy for people that often seemed to not care for your emotions.

"Friends, huh?" Sitting outside in the winter seemed like more of a good way to catch illnesses, not friends. Though, she had no right to judge. She was doing the exact same thing. She wasn't quite sure why she was out here, either. In all honesty, it was more laziness than wanting to freeze. But saying she was lazy probably wouldn't be the best impression to make on a new person. She had been trying to hibernate earlier, that was a better thing to say. "I'm trying to be a bear. They hibernate in the winter, so I wanted to see what it was like." A shiver ran down her spine as a small gust of air drifted under her coat. Closing her eyes for a moment, Ania pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders. " ... It's getting colder, isn't it?"

Flayace was surprised by what she said. It was hard to always be happy, but she only did this because she didn't really want people to know she was different. She sighed and shook her head at the girl, frowning a bit. She didn't care if her eyes changed at this point, it didn't matter to her right now. "Yeah it is, but that isn't even all I can do." She sometimes didn't like her powers, being able to peer into peoples conversations, just by closing her eyes. It is also useful, but sometimes she couldn't think of reasons to how they were. "It is just another reason for me to be seen as different." She nervously laughed and put her head down.

"I guess I just want to experience things, that is why I am out here. Friends, places, smells, they are all different from my home." It was true, nothing here reminded her of home, and she liked that. She wanted to have a fresh start, try new things that she couldn't do before. "I am happy to be here, even if I am new and I haven't seen or done a lot." She smiled a bit. She was happy that she had decided to talk to Ania, she was so fun and interesting. She looked around, seeing that the snow was falling a bit thicker, but not by much. 'I hope it doesn't get worse.' She thought to herself. That would mean that they would have to leave, or go somewhere else, but she was good here, comfy.

"A bear? That is cool." She thought that it was very interesting that this girl was trying to be a bear, cute even. She never really did those things in public, and was never honest if she did, which was pointless because her eyes would change. She loved doing silly things though, even if she didn't do it often. "I should try to do that. I have tried to be a dog, cat, sheep, alligator and squid, for some reason." She laughed happily, even thought the thought of saying those things brought back a lot of memories. She hoped that she would be able to have some fun like that again.

Flayace thought for a moment, was it getting colder? She was so focused on the girl that she hadn't really thought of noticed the weather. It did seem colder, or windier. "Yeah it does seem that way, it might just be the wind though." She paused. "Are you cold? or colder then before?" She hoped that she didn't sound stupid, it was a stupid question to ask. Ania was probably was cold, probably a lot colder then she was. She sighed, not wanting Ania to get up and leave because of her being cold, but at the same time, she couldn't stop her from doing it. The wind was picking up and she too shivered a bit. She put her legs to her chest and put her arms and hands to her stomach, leaving her sleeves with nothing.

Huh. She had never met a person that forced themselves into being happy. It sounded wonderfully difficult to achieve. Especially to avoid being seen as different. Ania had always assumed that being different was good. That's all people ever said to her-- different is good! You should strive to be different! Don't be one of the masses, stand out. People didn't often like different, it was mocked, insulted, put down. People were afraid of different. It frightened them to know that not everyone was alike. In response, people tended to shun all things different. It wasn't their fault, really, some were just raised that way. "But different isn't always bad. Sometimes different can be good."

Ania fidgeted. She could feel herself growing restless, and wanted to move around or do something. Gripping the hem of her coat sleeve, Ania swished her sleeves along the ground, enjoying the sound of the material sliding across the grass and snowy bits. She was still listening, of course. Just distracting herself. "At least you're happy here. New experiences can be fun maybe." Looking up with a wicked twinkle in her eyes, a smile twisted across her lips. "Find anyone cute yet?" Alluding to the possibility of a girlfriend or boyfriend, Ania thought back to her own ex-lover. She missed Conan in her own way, but they had gone in their separate directions. She wished she could show him this school, how it was nicer here than it was back home. A quiet sigh closed those thoughts, and brought her back to the present. The snow had begun to fall in a flurry now, dancing around the pair merrily. Holding out a hand, Ania giggled as the gentle kiss of snowflakes both tickled and chilled her. Rubbing the half-melted snow on her pants, Ania retracted her hand back into the welcoming warmth of her coat.

"Yes, try being a bear with me. We probably won't find berries or honey, but hibernating is always fun."
As a human, her body wouldn't allow her to sleep for months on end without eating. But it was still a good game to pretend. Unfortunately, it was frowned upon to maul people with your pretend claws.
"Yes, wind chill might be a factor." Taking a moment to think about her status, Ania decided that yes, she was cold. Perhaps it was time to move to a place that was a bit more sheltered. "Yes. Cold. Maybe we can find a warmer place to sit."

Taking a moment to haul herself up, Ania used the solid trunk of the tree to steady herself. Brushing off the snow that had gathered on top of her, Ania gave a small shake to make sure she had purged all of it. Glancing around, Ania caught sight of a squat building with an ample overhang to hide under. Pointing in that direction, Ania glanced down at her companion. "Would you want to go over there? It looks a bit better than just sitting under this tree"

Flayace nodded, she knew that being different wasn't always bad, she knew that a lot of the time she was thankful to have them. "They can be good too." She said under her breath. She likes this girl, she was dofferent from everyone she had ever known, not really caring what people though, being young and stuff. Flayace was also like that, but in a different way. Sometimes though, she didn't want to be different, or at least not in that way. Her personality and who she was, was different and interesing enough, even without her powers.

"Yeah I have. I have seen some beautiful, people" Flayace was going to say females, she liked females more then she liked males. Males never gave her a chance, thinking that she was more a play toy, more then a person. Guys always thought that she was too bubbly, at least at her old schools, so she kind of gave up on guys. All of her friends were girls, and she liked that. They understood her, listened to her. Flayace sighed and closed her eyes. She wasn't sure if she should tell Ania this, and she decided not yet.

Flayace shivered again and rubbed her hands together. "Yeah I will be a bear with you." She really smiled, it sounded like fun to her. She nodded and got up with Ania when she did. "Anywhere warmer then here is good for me." She coughed then shivered. She never liked the cold, or maybe it was just the wind that she didn't like. She shook her head and followed Ania to the place where she had pointed.
