This year was Elizabeth's first time enrolling in a Power class, in a classroom setting and all, in her entire life. The school year has just started and it was difficult to adjust to these modern rooms and equipments, but she had been around for a month or two now and she's become better at just 'rolling with it'— 'it' being the things she didn't know that others already found ordinary.
The class she enrolled in had a mixture of students with different ages and appearances. Some, she found, apparently didn't have as much control over their powers as she did. That's what this class was mostly about after all, to help them control their powers, or help them get better at it.
Elizabeth probably didn't need to take it if it weren't required.
So she was mostly there to help their instructor if something went wrong. She was a healer after all, and she'd be their fastest first aid if ever someone got injured (unfortunately she can only do until first aid when they were inside a lifeless building instead of being in nature where mana was abundant). That wasn't what happened. The chamber-- 'gym', they called it-- was quite spacious for all of them, but the class got too chaotic at some point.
One suddenly fell and began to scream in agonizing pain.
Elizabeth and the instructor rushed over to check what was wrong. No physical injuries. Elizabeth checked for signs of internal bleeding, but there was none of that either. The instructor, of course, knew about one of the students' ability to cause this. And apparently, only the hurting student's nerves dictated pain, but he wasn't exactly injured. The class was dismissed as the instructor took the student to the infirmary to rest and let it pass. Elizabeth, meanwhile, searched for the person who inflicted the pain.
She approached a thin girl with black curly hair as everyone else dispersed.
"Hello," she greeted softly, not wanting to startle her. "Um... what happened back there, I'm certain you didn't mean it..."
