Yuki yawned as she made her way back into the school, her hair still wet from her swim. She was still a little annoyed. The dinner tonight was a special Steak Dinner, her favorite! Sadly, one of her teachers had gotten annoyed with the class, and held them from going to lunch. This had the side effect of making Yuki miss out on the steak. Oh well, at least there was going to be a hamburger or two left in the cafeteria.

She glanced around as she walked into the large room. The only other person was some...white haired guy? She didn't think she'd seen him before. He was ahead of her slightly, so Yuki sped up to hopefully overtake him! She was starving, the sharkygirl had only had like five hamburgers for dinner...

Little known fact about Lei: He suffered from insomnia.

Maybe it was its own thing. Maybe it was a symptom because constant stress and anxiety. Whatever it was, it constantly messed with his biological clock, and he often found himself only sleeping in short burst throughout the day.

Which was why he was awake at ass o'clock craving burgers. Lei knew the cafeteria was often "graveyard shift" because of goddamn insomniacs and vampires, so there was often someone manning the counter no matter how tired. Lei saw the burger on display, the one, true last burger...

It didn't seem like he was the only one that caught sight of it, though.

Lei broke into a dead sprint, which ended up a huge fucking mistake because Lei wasn't athletic at all. In the end, he reached the counter first, and bought the burger for himself. He grinned at the shark girl. He wanted her to know he won.

Yuki matched eyes with the white haired student. As if some unheard starting pistol fired, both of the students sprinted off towards the food. Unluckily for Yuki, her shoes were still a bit damp from her nighttime swim. She slipped, and went crashing to the floor.

She stood up, holding one arm. She glanced over to see the other boy purchasing the burger. She glared at him, rubbing her now bruised arm. She followed him to sit across the table from him, still staring angrily. She was more glaring at the burger than the boy though.

The shark girl was watching him eat.

Good.

Lei sunk his teeth deep into the burger and savored both his victory, and the burger's succulent beef, tomato, cheese, onion and lettuce filling. He grinned wickedly at her. "Keep walking, girlie. This baby's rightfully mine. I paid a whole six dollars for it."

"You want a bite?? YOU WANT A FUCKING BITE!?" Lei slammed his palm on the table in a similar fashion. He will not be cowed into sharing his food. "YOU CAN'T HAVE A BITE."

As if to further spite the shark girl, Lei took a bite of the burger while staring her straight in the eyes. "Oh wow! This burger is so fucking delicious! Too bad you won't get to taste it!" he said, chewing it with his mouth open.

Lei screeched. Of all the stupid, brain dead things this girl could've pulled, she decided to FUCKING LEAP AT HIM, and Lei, who by all intents and purposes had the grace of an inebriated baby elephant, came crashing down ass first onto the ground, girl on top and burger flying into the air.

The fall was painful, but not as painful as the burger slamming against the ceiling. It fell to the ground piece by piece — the buns, the lettuce, the beef, the tomato and garlic. Er, not the condiments though, it looked like they were going to stay stuck to the ceiling for a long time.

"NO," he screamed, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, YOU DISCOUNT 711 PACK OF SUSHI!?"

Yuki watched as the burger flew into the air. The ceiling here was pretty high. She simply growled in her anger, her rage turning to Lei. Her shark instincts were starting to come to the forefront as she grabbed his shirt, straddling his sides.

"WHAT HAVE I DONE???? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO COULDN'T HOLD ONTO A BURGER TO SAVE YOUR LIFE, YOU ALBINO PRICK!"

Lei didn't know why he had to clarify that. He just felt he should.

"— SECOND OF ALL, I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO HOLD ONTO MY OWN BURGER, A BURGER THAT I OWN, A BURGER THAT I PAID WITH MY OWN MONEY IF YOU DIDN'T LUNGE AT ME, YOU DERANGED SHARK FURRY."

Lei struggled impotently under her all-muscle weight, pushing and shoving her away from him.
