"No questions? Excellent, clearly I'm a good speaker." Liun cracked a joke with a grin. He rolled his eyes the tiniest bit at Ava and James' additional comments, but since he was now speaking, he'd just have to get back to it at some other time. He noted the current crowd. He knew both James and Ava had heat and fire related abilities, but he didn't know Bastet, Neon and Symlink. Could just be interested.
With an inhale, Liun continued speaking in a professional attitude. "Starting off, you probably think this is just about fires, right? Well, we will be covering some of the common ways fires can start, but we'll also discuss situations created by usage of powers." Liun gave a subtle look at James. "Additionally, we'll also be talking about other situations that we're called for, and again, what can arise due to powers, and what to, or not to, do in such scenarios." As he spoke, he slowly paced while his hands gestured to enunciate his words.
"To start off, there are three factors for a fire to start." Liun held up three fingers on his gloved hand. "A fuel source, oxygen, and an ignition." He lowered a finger for each he spoke out. "This gives you an idea how fires can start, then. Now obviously, here on planet Earth, we need oxygen, so there's not much we can do there. But let's say you've got some faulty wiring, exposed to the air. Those wires can do sparks, which is an ignition, that initial heat needed for fire. If you've got dry clothes nearby, they're gonna catch those sparks and be the fuel. Very quickly, that flame is gonna spread." Liun held a serious expression as he spoke, making sure to look upon the room as often as he could. "Cigarettes, cooking, heating equipment, anything that can produce heat or a spark can be an ignition. Fuels can be papers, wood, clothes, plantlife, anything dry that is open to that heat source and the air."
He paused, letting his words to be processed by those listening. "Feel free to raise your hand if you have questions." Liun crossed his arms, his pacing steps having stopped. "If there's none so far, I'll continue."
