A mysterious seedling had ended up in one of the school's gardens, nestled quietly among some roses. Over the course of a few weeks, it grew into a tiny red bloom, and attached to that bloom...was a Flori. A plant-person. The little Flori opened her eyes and yawned, blinking against the early morning sun. She looked around and smiled at all the flowers. "Hello, flowers!" she greeted them, but they just sat there silently, like flowers do.

Wiggling a little, the young Flori pulled her strong roots from the soil and crawled around. The world was big and bright with so much to learn and explore...and she wanted to see it all! The Flori knew a few things, for example, that she was a Flori...but there was so much about this world that she had yet to learn. It was certainly going to be an exciting adventure for the tiny creature. She wiggled about and hummed a little tune as she wandered through the garden, lifting her head to watch a butterfly float by on the breeze.

Nothing will ever be a better past time to Elizabeth on slow days than wandering around the academy campus or the island to see and appreciate their nature and landscape. She hadn't been busy these past few days, so she did mostly nothing but look around and familiarize herself with her new environment. That said, she often stayed in the gardens to watch life blossom in vivid colors among the flowers there, occasionally even bringing them water as the days were starting to get hotter.

This was the same reason that Elizabeth has visited the gardens again. After the many days of doing this without a watering can, she finally brought a big one today after filling it with water. She was carefully giving them their daily shower when... she noticed that one of the budding plants before had been uprooted.

She frowned, not at all pleased with the idea that someone or something must have messed with the garden while she wasn't around-- until she noticed that something small was moving on the ground in the corners of her eyes.

A small plant person.

Elizabeth gasped and put down her watering can to approach the adorable thing. And then she crouched and called her, quietly and carefully, "Hello there, little flower!"

She picked her up with her most careful hands, wanting to see her closer. "I haven't seen you before. I'm Elizabeth!"

The Flori heard the gasp and looked around, her head turning towards the huge girl who stood nearby. Funny, she thought she would have noticed someone that big by all the flowers, but she'd been distracted by that pretty yellow butterfly that had been flying in the opposite direction, landing on flowers as it went.

A smile spread across the tiny Flori's face and she skittered closer before she was scooped up, wiggling a little to keep her balance while she was lifted higher into the air. "Hi!" she responded in her small, cheerful voice. What a nice human...or she assumed that's what this girl was. A human. Why did she know what humans were? Thinking about it made her brain hurt, so she stopped.

"I'm..." Who was she? The Flori looked around. "Rose..." Then it came to her, "Rosalie! I just sprouted right over there," she waved her hand - the one that was actually a tiny red bloom - in the direction where she'd come from. "It's nice to meet you, Elizabeth! You're the first person I've met. Wow, is this world big or what! At least, it's big to me. How did you get so big?" The words tumbled out of her tiny mouth like a waterfall.

How this adorable little plant person warmly responded to her felt like a sudden energy boost for Elizabeth, something she always needed, even though it might seem that she herself was also a ball of energy. It did, however, worry her as well; what if someone else stumbled upon Rosalie, and treated her harshly instead? Poor thing wouldn't even know. The little flower seemed too innocent to know that she shouldn't just go easily like this with strangers.

But it made sense considering, based on what she said, that she has just sprouted. A newly born creature into this world. Elizabeth had the urge to keep her and protect her.

"You're just really small, Rosalie," Elizabeth replied, chuckling a bit. "And, it is very nice to meet you, too." She watched the little creature in amazement long enough to realize she'd been staring and she had to stop it.

She brought her down and gestured at her watering can beside her. "Have you had water yet?"

Really small? Hm. Rosalie supposed perhaps she was the one who was small here, rather than Elizabeth being the one who was big. Everything just looked so big, so maybe Elizabeth was right! Which was totally okay for the little Flori, either way. Being really small probably had its advantages, like...other people could carry her places! Yeah!

She crawled off of Elizabeth's hand and onto the ground below, her roots provided mobility, but she wouldn't be nearly as fast as Elizabeth probably was...her legs were much bigger than Rosalie's roots were, and could cover way more ground in a single step. Rosalie looked over at the watering can and wiggled happily, "I haven't! Is there water in there? I'm just parched! If you could just pour some on my roots that would be really great."

"Why, yes! Yes, there's water here." Elizabeth giggled a little; she couldn't help but be amused at Rosalie's way of speaking, and even the way her body moved at the same time. Elizabeth carefully raised the watering can using two hands, and tilted its snout towards Rosalie roots as gently as she can. Water started pouring while Elizabeth controlled how strong the pressure would be. It should be light and gentle and shouldn't shock the roots, especially since Rosalie even said she was 'parched'.

"There, all done!" she said after, putting the watering can down again. She crouched once more, and tried to meet Rosalie's level as much as she could. "How was it? Do you perhaps want some more?"

Elizabeth mentally told herself that she was going to keep coming here even more in the future for Rosalie. She was going to make sure this little flower would grow big and healthy, and stay cute and adorable. "Oh, if only I can take you home..."

Rosalie squealed happily as the water was poured onto her roots, which wiggled with joy. She crawled around in the water that was provided to her, absorbing up the liquid with her root-legs. "Ahh~ that's much better, thank you!" the tiny Flori exclaimed.

Elizabeth was nice! And her first friend! Rosalie was excited to have met and made a friend so quickly in this big, big world. Even if that friend was waaaaaay bigger than she was. The little Flori blinked at Elizabeth's wistful words. "Home? Where's that? I don't have one of those," she replied, pondering this. She supposed the garden was her home right now, but upon thinking about it a bit more, it may not be the safest place for a tiny creature like herself. "Can I come with you?" Yes, being with a big person like Elizabeth sounded like a much safer option.

"Yes, home!" Elizabeth could almost feel tears bubbling up her eyes from her chest; Rosalie was such a little innocent dear, and thank goodness it was she who found her. If Rosalie happened to go with someone else, would she have been safe?

No, surely it was safest to be around Elizabeth. Elizabeth was going to take great care of her!

"I'd love for you to come with me, Rosalie. I live in the high school dormitories, which is only a few minutes away from here." She pointed at the direction of the said building. "I'll buy you a big pot, and you can come home to me anytime, but feel free to roam around and explore, as well! What do you say?"

With that, she held out a hand. She wanted to pick her up and take her home as soon as possible, protect her from anything that might hurt her until she is aware enough that there are many people in their surroundings who may not be as good as Elizabeth.

"By the way, I'm part of the Gardening Club. You can also come with me during our activities, there will be a lot of other plants to see!"

Home, a big pot, safety...and even a gardening club, whatever that was. It sounded perfect to the little Flori. How lucky she was to have met Elizabeth so quickly! Rosalie wiggled happily and nodded, "Yes, please! That sounds great!" She looked at Elizabeth's outstretched hand and crawled onto it, fitting almost perfectly into the girl's palm. Yes, this was turning out wonderfully. Rosalie was so tiny, and everything else was so big, that surely she may not have lasted very long without someone like Elizabeth around to help her out.

"Thank you, Elizabeth! I'm lucky to have met someone so nice on my very first day~," Rosalie smiled brightly. This was going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
