Personality Description:
Sophia likes a little bit of mystery, so she doesn't reveal too much about herself. For her, socializing is less about intuitively matching her partners, and more about fulfilling certain cues that allow her to come out looking good. She can be seen as cold or distant, but the reality is that Sophia says less so that she isn't misunderstood.
Honest, practical, and hardworking, she's becoming well known in the summoning community because of her dedication to improving. She may not have flashes of brilliance, but she gets the results she wants.
Sophia dresses well and uses her emotional distance to project confidence that she doesn't always feel. She's better friends with some of her summons than actual humans, and this is sometimes hard for her.

Summoning: Sophia has fairly strong summoning abilities. She's able to summon both sentient and non-sentient creatures, though summoning non-sentient creatures takes much less energy and concentration. The creatures she summons vary, and look like anything from a normal animal to something quite grotesque. She can also summon wisps & shadows, though these beings work best for intimidation and not much else.
Her final project in high school was a sentient summon named Bipin that she psychic bonded with. Bipin is essentially a furless black ferret with wings, and can speak several languages (all with a foul mouth). Sophia carries a keychain with a Bipin figure that stores the spell to summon him, severely cutting down the effort she needs to summon him. She is unaware of this, but Bipin was a summon that she created, and not something that was simply called forth.
She also has a bond with a fire bobcat named Thuya, who is a lot calmer and more articulate than Bipin. She has a keychain for Thuya as well.
Telepathy: Sophia's telepathy is limited to those that she bonds with, either human or summon. Depending on the nature of the summon, she can form temporary bonds for the duration of the summon that allow her to communicate. She has never shared a telepathic bond with another human, and so is mostly unaware of this aspect of her power.

Sophia grew up in a small apartment in Seattle with her two dads and a cat named Shiva. She had a pretty uneventful, comfortable life up until Jr High, when the fan was absolutely pelted with shit.
Bullying was fierce and relentless at her new school. Anything from her appearance to her two dads was fair game. She didn’t exactly have the social skills to tackle the situation, and suffered mostly in silence. And amidst all this, she was beginning to come into her powers.
At first it was quite small and harmless: wisps for the cat to play with. She could sit for hours with the wisps, with or without Shiva there to make things exciting. She'd arrange them into battalions and manoeuvre them around the battlefield of her bedroom.
When the power manifested at school, however, it was much different beast. Literally. A showdown with a bully ended up being the finale of her terrible, short time at the new school. After having her skirt and underwear pulled down in front of her entire class, she inadvertently summoned a flaming beast the size of the teacher's desk.
Obviously, calls home were quickly made, and Sophia was transferred to Starlight Academy. She's been there ever since.
Once she had better control of her powers, she learned that the creature she had summoned that day was Thuya, the fire bobcat, and he became the first of her regular summons.
