Dorn laughed at how excited James was when he heard that he had read it, "Well yeah I have read it and it was great." he began to say with a thoughtful voice, he made a pause as the waitress came with there food and then he waited for her to walk away before he continued to talk again. "I read it around a year ago I think it was, It was among my fathers old books in the art room and I thought I could give it a try and see if I liked it or not, turned out a did like it." he then examined the crab cake that was in front of him on the table, it looked nice.

Dorn then glanced back at James when he said the next thing about his brothers. "Yeah let them try" he said with a friendly voice and a smile. Then he gave himself a slight pat on the side of the head with his hand. "Remember I have the power to read and affect emotions, they might have bullied others but I do not think they have tried on someone like me. Wonder what they are uncomfortable with?"

Dorn lowered the hand and then he examined James for another moment, then he calmly turned his gaze down to the food and slowly began to eat from it. The boy smiled as it did taste really nice actually, it had been a good idea to try crab after all. He tilted his head to the side at the other boys compliment, then Dorn smiled and he did look happy that James said that. "Thanks Jamie" was what he said and his voice was calm but yet happy. Dorn then returned to eat from his food and he did look around the area as he was eating, more people came a little now and then but all around there was not all that many people today.

Dorn thought of something he could talk with James about, he felt like he wanted to know more about the other boy. "So Jamie what kind of things do you like to do? What great interests do you have in life?" he asked as that would seem as an interesting topic to talk about, maybe they shared some of there interests with each other? That would be awesome.

He had taken another bite of food, and he had to pause for a moment before replying. "Have you read the Odyssey, too? I'm planning on reading that next. What sort of books do you usually like?" Reading - this was a subject he wouldn't have much trouble with.

"Good point. You could always make them start crying themselves, eh?" He grinned at the thought. "Hey, can you alter your own emotions? Like, suddenly make yourself ecstatic, or something? That'd be fun."

"I don't know if I have any 'great interests'." Dorn made it sound so important; he had to think for a few minutes before replying. "I like... playing piano - but you already know that - reading, um... drawing. Mostly still lifes, nature and stuff - I don't have a lot of people to draw." He shrugged, trying to think of other things that qualified as 'great interests'. "ah... Shakespeare. Plays in general, really. I don't like acting or anything, though." He shuddered at the mere thought of being on a stage. "What about you?"

Dorn was happy that they had something to talk about and he nodded to the question the other boy asked him. "Yeah I have read it, in fact I have it on my room with all my other things....somewhere" he told and then he laughed a little. "You should try and read it, you can borrow mine if you want to, that would be no problem at all" he then thought about the question that was asked. "Well I mostly read fantasy books, anything in the area of fantasy really. But I can also read other things as I have a large book with all the plays by Shakespear, and I also have one book of King even if horror is not really my kind of books, but that one worked." Dorn made a pause as he ate from his crab cake, then he glanced at James again. "So what about you then Jamie boy? What kind of books are you into mostly?"

Dorn smiled at what James said about making the brothers cry. "Yeah I could do that, but I do not really like to meddle in others emotions and even if I can alter them I try to stay in the area of only reading them but nothing more." the boy explained to his friend, then he frowned a little at the very odd question. "Alter my own emotions? To be honest I have never tried to do something like that Jamie" Dorn had never thought about things that way before, curious where James got such a strange idea.

Dorn listened to James as he told about his own interest and the boy did not say anything before the friend was done even if he did nod a little now and then to show that he payed attention to James. "Those are great and interesting interests, seems like we share a liking for shakespear then, I have all his works but in plays and poems, I also play piano as you know to, I have always liked to read and I can read most things even if fantasy is the best" he made a pause and thought for a moment. "But I also like video games and to do things other would think weird, as I love school and to do homework" he smiled a little as he said this. "oh and I have a thing for old Disney movies as you might have noticed from my little collection of disney classics in the room" Dorn continued to eat from his food after he said this, yeah this was a nice tasty crab alright and Dorn liked it.

"I like... Old books. Stuff most people think is boring." He wrinkled his nose, popping a bite of sweet potato into his mouth. "Like, Jules Verne, Oscar Wilde, Conan Doyle. Fantasy's alright, too. I've read Lord of the Rings and a lot of H.G. Wells. Never any Stephen King, though." He shrugged; the horror genre had never interested him, either in books or movies. It never seemed to scare him the way it was supposed to, and there was little point in reading it if not to be frightened.

He laughed, remembering the shelf of animated movies in their shared room. "Of course, I remember." He shared Dorn's fondness for classic animation - although perhaps not quite as intensely as the older boy. "We've still got to watch The Aristocats sometime," He reminded Dorn, leaning back in his chair.

"Have you ever seen a play of his preformed? I mean, live?" James was leaning forward again excitedly, eyes shining. It wasn't often that he met another fan of Shakespeare, and he was excited. "It's fantastic! Although sometimes it's a bit hard to see. What's your favorite play?"

Dorn smiled brightly as he said these words and he nodded. "Looks like we have even more in common then Jamie boy, I happen to love old books, Jules Verne, Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde." he explained calmly and drank some of the juice he ordered, then he lowered the glass and placed it on the table again. "I remember I loved to read around the world in 80 days." he thought back to when he read it and nodded to himself, yeah he had loved that book very much. "I remember mom used to read Beatrix Potter to me when I was a kid" he laughed a little and ate some more of the food.

Dorn smiled at him when he said he remembered, it was after all just a few days ago he had said it and all that. The older boy then nodded and gave James a warm bright smile. "Of course I have not forgoten about something like that Jamie boy, I would never do such a thing" he told calmly.

Dorn laughed as James got so excited when he asked if Dorn had seen any play by Shakespear, James was really cute actually. He really liked the same kind of things Dorn did. Dorn knew they would have a few things in common but not this much. "Yes I actually have seen a few, I sometimes went to see them with my mom." he explained happily and scratched himself in the back of the head. "and I noticed they do have a theater here in the city to actually, we could keep an eye open and well maybe you would want to go with me to see something sometime? I mean you do not have to if you do not want to." he smiled a little as he said this and he was a little unsure of James would like the idea. "It could be fun"

"My favorite play? Well I liked Hamlet much when I watched it, but I also like many of the others, The Storm, Macbeth and Rome and Romeo and Juliet. I enjoy most of his plays actually." Dorn explained with a thoughtful tune in his voice and he was eating a little now and then and of course he paused at those moments. "What about you then Jamie? What is your favorite plays of Shakespear?" Dorn asked him back, he was curious to see what playes the younger boy liked to watch.

"Charles Dickens!" James grinned, inordinately excited. He never talked to people long enough to find out things like their favorite authors, and as a result, he'd never had anyone to discuss books with. "I forgot! Bleak House, that's my favorite."

"Right, I know you wouldn't really forget." He returned Dorn's smile, popping another bite of crab into his mouth. "Not a big deal, eh?"

"They do? We've got to go!" He was practically bouncing on his seat. "Don't have a lot of money, though - I imagine it's expensive. Doesn't matter. We've got to go," He repeated, eyes shining with excitement.

"I like his comedies better then the tragedies." He shrugged, pulling absentmindedly at a stray lock of copper hair. "I mean, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet - they're great, but I always end up sad." He grinned in embarrassment, taking a huge sip of tea. "I think my favorite is either... Twelfth Night or The Taming of the Shrew, probably. Haven't read all of his plays though."

Daniel laughed at his words then he said this, my he had really made the boy worked up on this subject. Dorn loved to see James this happy since that made him feel all fuzzy and happy on the inside. "Yeah I love his books, I remember I read Oilver Twist as the first one of his books" he told with a happy voice and a friendly smile, he then drank some more from his glass and took a deep breath. "I love to see you like this you know, It makes me happy when you are so excited. I want you to know that." he explained calmly and placed the glass back on the table again. Dorn then glanced around the room but there was still no people sitting to close to them so they could pretty much talk freely.

He laughed as James began to bounce up and down on his seat and Dorn calmly stretched out and laced both hands on each of the younger boys shoulders and smiled at him as he looked him into the eyes. "Whoo there Jamie boy" he said with a friendly voice and a sweet smile. "No need to get over excited about it, yeah I promise I will take you to the theater and we will see a wonderful play, just you and me" he tilted his head to the side as he looked the boy into the eyes. "I love that look in your eyes you know, excited and happy, you really should use that more often." he smiled in an encouragin way and then he slowly ruffled the boys hair with his hand before he gave him a slight poke on the nose. "but do not stop just because I said anything now. About the money I have some put to the side for things like these so we will be able to go."

He then began to talk about the plays and Dorn nodded slowly. "Yeah your right the fun once are great to, but it all depends on what mood one is in. I like most plays of William anyway, I have a very open mind about most things in life. But not even I have read all his work" he then thought for a moment and it looked like he was thinking about something. "Excuse me Jamie, I will be right back" he then smile at the boy before he stood up and walked away though the area, he stopped at a counter and began to talk with the man behind it, he stood there and talked. It did not take very long until he came back and he was smiling when he sat down. "So you like the food?" he asked James. He did not right away say what he had talked to the man about over there, Dorn picked up a small notebook from inside of his pocket and he began to make a few small notes on it as he was thinking...but he still payed most of his attention to James and he made sure to show that. "Jamie I have been doing some thinking, what you say if I do not treat you to the movies tonight, but we can go to the theater instead?" he asked suddenly and closed the book. "They are showing A Midsummer Night's Dream now, the next play will be in around two hours and the man said they always have a few spare tickets for the end. Do not worry about the money part, that will not be a problem. I mean we do not have to if you do not want to and all that, we can still go to the movies insteed if you want?"

Dorn reached across the table and grabbed James' shoulders, and James instantly went deadly still. No matter how he tried to get used to it, physical contact still froze him up, sent his heart hurtling into his throat and his eyes wide and panicky. Dorn looked into his eyes and ruffled his hair and tapped his nose lightly, and James went scarlet with embarrassment, unable to form a cohesive sentence like thank you or that'd be nice or don't worry, I can pay. After a moment, Dorn leaned back, but James was still tense and nervous, lithe fingers carefully arranging his silverware as if it were the most important thing in the world.

James was still furiously red when Dorn returned from the counter, gaze carefully directed at anything but Dorn and unable to do more then quietly hum assent to Dorn's inquiries on the food.

He had composed himself somewhat and was fiddling quietly with the locks of copper hair that had drifted out of place when Dorn had ruffled his hair, fruitlessly trying to pin them back again, when Dorn suddenly closed his tiny notebook and invited him to the theater. His face immediately went bright red again and he ducked his head, frigid fingers adjusting his hair self-consciously. "I'd... Yeah." He finally said quietly, looking back up at Dorn, eyes shining with excitement. "That sounds fantastic, of course I don't want to see a movie, it's Midsummer Night's Dream, and I can pay for myself; it's totally worth it, eh?" He had a huge grin on his face, and he was trying not to bounce up and down lest Dorn take it upon himself to try to calm him down again.

Dorn had noticed the feeling that was inside of James when he had ruffled the boys hair, he had also felt it when he talked away and then returned back to the table again. Dorn actually liked how James reacted and it made the boy even cuter then before, or was that it? Did Dorn think that James was cute? When he thought about it that was the only thing he came up with, he thought James was cute and he was funny. He was fun to talk with and there was that feeling he gave out that Dorn liked, but he did not say anything about that he had noticed what the boy was feeling. Was this wrong of him to feel for James? Maybe it was wrong, but if it was wrong then he could live with being wrong for once.

"That sounds fantastic, of course I don't want to see a movie, it's Midsummer Night's Dream, and I can pay for myself; it's totally worth it, eh?"

Dorn smiled brightly again and the thoughts he had about if things was right or wrong went away as he saw the smile James had on his face, Dorn could not be unhappy with that bright smile looking at him. "Yeah I am very sure it will be fantastic Jamie boy" he said with a soft voice. He noticed that James had returned to being that I want to jump around like crazy with happiness, Dorn could not help but grin a little and then he slowly stretched out the hand again and placed it on the other boys shoulder, he stroked it softly and tilted his head to the side. "Hey there Jamie boy, calm down a little. Or maybe...no be as happy as you want, I do not mind it at all." he did not remove the hand until a moment later when he noticed it was still there. The boy blushed a little and calmly removed the hand and then he scratched himself on the back of the hand. "and I insist on paying for both of us Jamie, it is my treat this evening. No objection James, do not deny me the happiness to make you happy." he said James as a way to show that he was serious, he never called James by his real name unless it was something,

James took another bite of crab cake, carefully examining the breaded crust to avoid looking at Dorn. He wasn't used to people touching him - for that matter, he wasn't used to people at all - and when they did, it always made him nervous and unsure of what to do. Did he ruffle Dorn's hair back? Did he pretend like he didn't notice? What did normal people do?

"Definitely!" James grinned, taking a sip of tea and trying to think of what they would do while waiting for the play to start. He was beginning to calm down, focusing his energy on excitement instead of nervousness, when Dorn patted him gently on the shoulder and told him - well, he told him something. James wasn't paying attention, his entire mind focused on Dorn's hand and the fact that it wasn't moving. He flickered his gaze from his shoulder to Dorn and back, hazel eyes wide with panic and embarrassment. It took Dorn a moment to realize what he was doing, but when he did he quickly removed the hand.

His name sounded odd coming from Dorn. James couldn't think of why for a moment, and then he realized that it was because he'd seldom heard Dorn refer to him as anything but 'Jamie-boy'. He nodded assent reluctantly, figuring he'd find a way to pay Dorn back later. With all Dorn's talk about being poor, James didn't want to make him feel like he had to buy him things.
