Danger forced himself not to jump up and defend pirates. He was a pirate. He did have a code he followed, and he was respected, both in the pirate world and out of it. He pulled a blue bandana out of his back pocket and stood, offering it to her. "Maybe.. They didn't have a choice.. Maybe.. I don't know.." he paused, trying to figure out a way to defend his people without giving himself away. "I guess, maybe don't judge all pirates by those ones.. I knew some pirates.. They were my friends. They weren't blood thirsty." he spoke softly, still holding the makeshift handkerchief to her.
Deep down inside, a little voice told him to leave while he had a chance, but with all of the flurry of activity suddenly going on in his head, he ignored it, looking at her, eyes laced with true compassion.
