Snake in the grass

A rather attractive girl with green hair was standing in front of the college building, basking in the early september's sun. Her rather voluptuous body was confined in the most modest sweater imaginable, something that didn't actually sit that well with her.

Geez, as expected I really cannot stand being dressed this modestly... I can barely breathe! Maybe I should slash the front of the sweater a little bit?

But no, that of course wouldn't have been a good idea. She had come to that island with a very precise goal after all: the last thing she wanted was to stir up trouble on her very first day.

Her bag casually thrown over her shoulder, she smiled looking at the building, and her tongue darted out of her mouth for a brief, quick, almost invisible movement.

So this is it. I wonder if I should trouble someone for directions?

She asked aloud, to nobody in particular.

Ah! This was the start of another amazing year of college! Though it was only her second, the nervousness of it all still got to her. Like a rocket of uncertainty, it shot into the air around her and filled it with a glow of gray and white. With her hand, she batted it all away. No doubts, no unknowns! There was a girl, who seemed as uncertain as she had been a year ago. With a huff of happiness, she turned and went up to her. "Are you perhaps new? A new college student I mean! My name is Flayace and I would love to answer any questions you may have!"

Before even hearing the voice and/or turning around to actually see the girl, Yukiko had smelled a faint scent of lilacs. Then she turned around, and what she saw sent a shiver down her spine.

"You are..."

Her eyes widened, as she stared intently at the girl, taking in every detail

"You are..."

Her vertical pupils were now in full display, as she leaned forward, like a snake ready to strike. And indeed ready she was, because there was no room for doubts in that situation: the girl in front of her clearly was...

"... SO DAMN CUTE!!!!!!!"

The cold-blooded predator had suddenly transformed into a squeeing fangirl, jumping around the girl like one of those small, obnoxious dogs, when they see their owner prepare the leash for the evening walk.

"You are absolutely adorable! I want to bring you home and spend the rest of my life petting you! Can I make you my little sister? Can I? Pretty please?"

There was a minor side of her that, deep down, realized that there was something fundamentally wrong about that last line of hers. But she wasn't paying attention to it, she was completely overwhelmed by the sheer level of cuteness.

That was something that she hadn't expected in the slightest. For her, people's usual reactions were that they found her annoying or too friendly, not this. Nonetheless, she smiled, happy that someone had reacted differently. "T-Thank you, I wasn't expecting that." With a small chortle, she batted her eyes while adjusting her skirt to look a bit better. "But hm, I mean I have always wanted a sister, but maybe not the petting part. You are welcome to touch my hair, if that is what you mean!" What a nice girl!

Sensing the embarrassment in the girl's voice, Yukiko came back to her senses: avoid attracting attention on her first day in? She definitely was doing it wrong!

"Oh I'm sorry, how rude of me to blurt that out of a sudden... I apologize, it's just that, when I see anything or anyone this cute, I really can't help myself!"

She forced herself to smile of a nice, "girl next door" smile: she was used to speaking in a very informal, almost rude manner, so the polite speech pattern that situation called for would have probably felt forced, out of place even, when coming from her... Fortunately, the English language didn't differentiate between the patterns nearly as much as Japanese did, so for now she was managing to hide the issue.

"My name is Yukiko, and when I am not in a cuteness-induced frenzy, I'm just a normal girl. Well, as normal as you can get on this island, anyway. And who might you be? I mean, other than my prospective honorary little sister?"

Of course she wasn't going to drop that part. The girl was just too cute.

"I-I'm glad that you think I'm cute. I'm just confused is all, very confused." Yes, many had called her a doll and someone that they wanted to protect or something, but it was hard for her to believe. The blush on her cheeks stayed as her eyes batted side to side. "I'm Flayace, nice to meet you!" Her smile returned, as she didn't want her eyes to change color just yet. It wasn't the right time for that. "I'm not that special, just a girl that gets jumpy I guess!"

((sorry omg @.@))
