Private Six Months

Yuki's heart wouldn't stop thumping. Wild-eyed excitement threatened to overtake the boy, a giddy feeling fluttering about in his chest and refusing to leave. He just... he just felt so happy. So excited! Part of him felt guilty for being so happy when things weren't great in his friend life but he just... he felt like Gabe was all he needed. Ace passed by as the boy fussed over himself, smiling affectionately. Yuki had to admit, it was weird at home nowadays. Ace and Mahalia tried to act the same, but he could tell something was up. They mostly stayed down on their own floor now, and they kept going out on trips and just...sort of, not being around him. He didn't know why. It felt kind of lonely.

But anyway, he was going on a date! A date with Gabey! And not just any date, but an anniversary date. They'd been going out for six months. Six whole months! Insane, he knew. Anyway, as he checked himself in the mirror one last time - grey jacket, white shirt, grey trousers, nice white shoes, purple bowtie, all fine - he noticed that a strand of hair or two had come undone. He whipped out his comb and fixed that, then gave himself a big grin. It wasn't hard - the thought of spending a whole afternoon with his boyfriend was more than enough to bring a mushy smile to his face.

Yuki knew that what he had with Gabe wasn't normal. Most couples weren't like this six months after getting together. Most couples didn't stay over at each other's places all the time - especially not on school nights. Gabe already had a uniform stashed at Yuki's place, and Yuki already had a uniform stashed at Gabe's (both bought by Yuki) along with a set of night clothes. Sure, Gabe came over to Yuki's more often than the latter, but it was still brilliant. Yuki loved the plant user with all of his heart and more, and he was sure that it was the same for him.

As Ace dropped the young heir off at the cinema entrance, Yuki caught sight of his boyfriend and gasped. He had to catch his breath. The boy was stunning. Amazing. Astounding, even. He had to bite back the desire to run right towards him and plant a massive kiss on his lips. He swallowed, dismissing thoughts of how hot he looked and approached with a shy grin, a bouquet of bellflowers picked from his garden hidden behind his back.
