That hit him right at the heart. "HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IF I DID!!" He said his voice cracking. He looked down, he closed his eyes. He got up taking his shirt off revealing scars lined on his body.

"How would you like to see vampires kill your parents brutally not a short murder, a long and horrible one. Then they turn to you. They rip your flesh up leaving you bleeding to death, you try to fight back only to have them drink your blood then turn you into a vampire. They murder your whole village, then they leave you cursed for life. To become one of them. You know nothing kid, nothing at all. Your bitter over only that, but yet I had so much more happen and at least I don't go acting like a jerk judging before I know. After our village was brutally slaughtered they soon found they had cursed me. Because of they're fear many things happened, they tried killing me first at stake with fire. I had flames all around me, crawling up me I couldn't die. Those scars are gone, but you know nothing of torture kid. Nothing." He got up.

He didn't cry, he had long since stopped crying. He had heard of great heros and decided to prove people wrong and become a hero. But each time after he was one, they soon found out his curse and tried to kill him. Valentine knew nothing of the pain the boy of three hundred years had suffered. Nothing at all.

He looked at the child, so he is a child whose parents were killed also. he had some remorse for what had happened, but not much.

at least I don't go acting like a jerk judging before I know

“You know, you do judge people before you know! You judge the people that are younger than you the people that have suffered less. You judge them as infidels, people who are ignorant. Humans. What makes your views any higher than ours. Just because you have seen and experienced more does not mean you have experienced all. I am sorry that your parents died that way, but don’t just belittle everyone else’s problems just because you may have experienced it. Try to make some friends by opening up. I tried that with Amelia. Believe me, it is the best thing you can do. “

Unfortunately she seems to be the only one I can open up to

He looked at Valentine shaking his head. "I'm not cruel, I only stay away from people so I don't fall apart." He put his shirt back on. "If I were to be around people who had families, friends, happiness all the time. I couldn't stand it Valentine, I may seem mean to not try for friendship, but it'd only make the past hurt more." He looked down, "I never told anyone as much past as I told you, but there's a reason why."

He looked down. "I did have a friend once, they were almost like me except not as old but it didn't matter. They didn't have a perfect life, it drew me to them. I trusted them, and I almost ended up dead because of them. " He looked at a small animal scurrying away from a bigger animal hunting it. Percy drew a large needle and threw it at the bigger animal piercing it's heart it fell to the ground dead.

"Valentine, I'm not saying all 18 year old are immature and know nothing. I'm saying your stupid because you knew nothing about me and yet you judge me like a 14 year old. Listen, I know your trying to help. But you can't force me to go and be more friendly. I hooked you up with Amelia because I knew you were perfect for eachother. But please respect that I don't want to go crazy trying to get a friend that will only run, kill, lie, and use me to get what they want in life. I'm still looking for a friend but I'm not going to lose my head over the situation." He sighed looking at the bigger animal laying dead on the ground, that would become his dinner.

"I don't want to fight or argue with you, you may have suffered but your acting stupid about it. I only told you part of my sufferings, but I'm not saying I'm the smartest. I'm saying you let your suffering hurt you too much, at least I keep them inside out of sight. I have seen your sorrow with past and all, I understand it may have been hard for you. But at least they had a more peaceful death." His mind was filled with memories of blood and bodies. He looked at the ground.

"I'm sorry if you can't take the words I said, for I'm just trying to help you. I wanted to take out my parent death with hate, I tried too. I trained beyond anything ever trained, I almost never slept. Then I try to track down the cruel killers and find, they died. I had no goal in life after that, nothing to live for. But then I saw a blood lusted vampire and found my calling. I am put here to protect people from people."

Valentine didn't care why the child had told him all this, but his response to all the judgemental reactions made him realize that he too was being judgemental. Valentine decided to take this by another angle, "You never had a true friend since you almost ended up dead because of him or her. You should know what a real friend is. A real friend will take you into his arms when you hurt, or she will comfort you in your times of trouble." He kept thinking of Amelia in all this. Did I become more than a friend than what should be my friend?

I hooked you up with Amelia because I knew you were perfect for eachother. But please respect that I don't want to go crazy trying to get a friend that will only run, kill, lie, and use me to get what they want in life. I'm still looking for a friend but I'm not going to lose my head over the situation." He sighed looking at the bigger animal laying dead on the ground, that would become his dinner.

"You don't get it though, you have never had a true friend since this friend lied to you in an attempt to murder you and use you for his own glory." He only tried to figure that one out from the clues Percy gave him.

I don't want to fight or argue with you, you may have suffered but your acting stupid about it. I only told you part of my sufferings, but I'm not saying I'm the smartest. I'm saying you let your suffering hurt you too much, at least I keep them inside out of sight. I have seen your sorrow with past and all, I understand it may have been hard for you. His eyes were red with anger, his rage rising. He was going to yell. "I was hurt too much by it! I was six when it happened and I never had a parent that really cared! I was sent boarding school to boarding school! You don't get it do you?! My parents died in a fire, a beam of fire fell upon my mother's back, and she burned telling me to go. My father died in that same fire and I heard his yells of pain as the room collasped on him as my mother and I escaped. A more peaceful death! I should have this hurt me too much! Now I wonder if you learned anything in those three hundred years!" Valentine's fists clenched with his might and his rose from within his pocket broke, the pieces inside shot out into the sky above him mixing in the air randomly.

He grunted a little as the glass intentionally hit the tree beside him.

Percy looked at Valentine. "You don't get it do you, no matter what both our lives stunk as kids. But your not a vampire either, boarding school may be cruel, living alone is hard to. I lived years alone, no one cared, people only looked at me like I was a monster because I was a vampire. I know your past was hard, but this isn't a fight to who had the worst life." He stopped.

"You know how hard life is, but you don't know the hours alone three hundred years is. It's a lot, Valentine I can't trust just anyone. I'm not pushing people away, I'm just not going to chase people to make them my friend. I consider you my friend even though you did throw glass at me. I just don't consider you as the bestest friend in the world since you kinda have a girlfriend and that means your busy with her. Also Amelia's not just a friend if you look at it, fate had it for you two to be together. You both have bad pasts, but together it makes you both stronger and you two are close because of it." Percy smiled...

"Valentine, you are lucky. You have the girl of your dreams, I on the other hand may never find mine. I didn't give up hope, but as I said I can't force a friendship."

"Well, as long as you don't give up hope, I wish you luck." He thought, It would be better for him to get a shapeshifter to transform his body than for him to find someone his own age. Not a single girl of fourteen has that type of commitment to stick to a guy of fourteen forever. They have too many interests in mind. Though I wonder...

"What was it like...back in the seventeen hundreds? Was it worse in attitude back then? I mean, couldn't you have gotten someone to marry back then at fourteen? If not, I am sorry for bringing it up. I am actually sorry for a lot of things today." He looked down, not really sorry, but somewhat confused. Why was all this happening? Was it fate?

"Your not truly sorry, but it's okay. Yes it was possible back then, I almost did too. That was that friend I talked about." He said with a sigh. "Look Valentine, as much as I like you as a friend. You got to realize one thing, I may be wrong at times but it doesn't mean I'm always wrong. Or haven't tried."

He picked up the dead animal. "I guess I'm going to go, don't want dinner to get more appetizing." He grimaced, he hated to skin and cook the animals. It was rather gross even if he was three hundred he still hated it.

He was somewhat maddened at the response but he would get over it. "You want to get something to eat, as much as I see that the rodent is on your top five eats?" He asked, forgetting that they would go for a picnic thing tomorrow that is, if things go right.

He was curious, what drives this child? Where does he channel his loneliness. Valentine knew where his loneliness is channeled to, anger, but also now his loneliness has something to cling to.

He chuckled... "Actually, I hate it I only eat it when I'm desparate to remember how much harder the past was. I remember when I went to America once, that west was quite dangerous. I almost died more then my age. I liked America way more then England though, England was quite bad to the lower class."

He smiled at Valentine, taking out a pouch. "I guess I'll treat you since your obiviously poor." He said with a chuckle, revealing gold coins in the pouch. "I foresaw the future and saved up all my earnings and by eating wildlife and I saved old coins for the future. Quite handy since people always want antique coins."

He raised an eyebrow quetioning, "Me? Poor?" He was actually quite poor, and now that he thought about it, he needed a job if he wanted to save up enough for Christmas, Valentine's Day, and March. He could only think of what he spoke aloud.

"Oi...a thousand five hundred..." he paused his eyes shifting, "free..." he blew a sigh of relief, "oh ,and a hundred." He had to get a thousand six hundred dollars...no big. At least not that he really knew of. He must have sounded like an idiot. He looked down at his pockets and could only see his two roses. He sighed, "Great..."
