Ashley couldn’t be too surprised that Matt disliked her lack of reaction. She always seemed to do that to people; lack of expression always raised an eyebrow. She didn’t say anything, since there wasn’t anything to say.
Matt’s change of demeanor did puzzle her, though. It was a sensitive subject, she knew, but it still surprised her that he wasn’t showing off.
She nodded at his response. When it came to electricity, she knew that overuse of powers could have very dire consequences, so he would have to be careful while running. Cardiac arrest made sense.
Ashley followed the invisible circles Matt was drawing, since eye contact wasn’t her thing. She couldn’t help but glance up, though, as he told his story. As he finished, she said “I see... sorry..”, regretting that she asked. It should’ve been common sense, but blind curiosity won over.
She again nodded at his comment on bringing his mood down. She understood totally.
