Rae saw Paul following her and really didn't care. All she could thin about was the nightmare she had had about suffication. It reminded her of one time her own father had almost killed her by doing that.

Rae hugged herself and cast Paul a sidelong stare.

Corona suggested they don't stray far from other people. The amount of fear they had due to the darkness would only attract more darkness, and if they were alone then they would be significantly more vulnerable. While the amount of danger their current affliction had was minimal, the danger it attracted was life-threatening.

Paul became more and more worried about Rae as time went on. This only mixed with his feelings of terror from what happened earlier, and it didn't make him feel very well. A few people had already started to stare at Rae curiously because of how she was acting. Slowly Paul started to get looks himself, as the world spun around him.

He fainted.

As Rae saw Paul faint, she forgot all about what had happened earlier and gasped. She quickly knelt beside him and slapped his face. "Wake up!" She slapped him again, but this time a bit softer. "Come on Paul. Wake up. It's not nap time right now."

Paul didn't awaken. In his sleep he found himself surrounded by creatures of the darkness. Creatures of despair. He didn't feel Corona's presence with him, and because of this he felt weak. He felt hopeless. The monsters closed in on him. They were getting closer.

Soon, he knew they would pounce. That was when he heard a voice. Rae's voice. He knew he couldn't let himself be taken by the darkness now. And then the light appeared in his hand. Corona's Dreamsabre. The creatures pounced at that exact moment, but with incredible reflexes he blocked nearly every attack and made a swift counter against each creature.

He stood over his defeated enemies. None of them stood a chance against a weapon such as Corona's. He didn't know what had happened, but he felt superior to the darkness, at least until the floor around him crumbled and fell away, causing him to fall into the unending abyss below.

And then he awakened. Gasping for air as the color returned to his face.

Rae, having seen emotions cross Paul's face she would have wished not to have seen, immediately gave Paul a hug when he awoke. A second later she released him. "Are you okay?"
