The dream came back to mind and tears again sprang to her eyes, but Rae didn't let them spill over. She nodded, but it was obvious she really wasn't okay.
Rae buried her face against him again, but she didn't cry, for she had already bottled those up inside. But she was shaking like an earthquake. Even her teeth chattered.
He rubbed the back of her head softly. What in the world happened to her? Corona mentioned that it had to have been some sort of nightmare, because she was asleep when it happened. It was the only logical explanation. Paul could still feel the amount of anxiety coursing through his body from her fear. This empathy thing was going to become a real problem if he didn't find a way to suppress it. "Everything is okay now.. you're safe." He kissed her on the cheek.
After a little while she calmed down enough to push away from his chest and sit up. But though she had just taken a nap, she was physically taxed. So she laid he head against Paul's shoulder while sitting against the tree. Rae lifted her hand in front of her face and saw it shake then set it back down in her lap.
