Rae couldn't think of anything either, so she just picked the lint off of her skirt and kept licking the blood from her lip as it sprang to the surface.

Rae grinned. "That was irrelivant....yet, okay." She moved to flatten herself against the earth and yawned. Seemed she was alwasy tired now-a-days.

Rae glanced over at Paul just as he fell asleep. She grinned and stared at him for a while before she also fell asleep. She dreamed of being nine years old--her lasst day at being nine--and wishing her mother was there, but wishing neither her mother nor her father had ever been in her life. In real life the day had passed by quite normally. Her just staring at the wall for hours on end, barely touching the 'food' her father brought her, and her talking with Moe.

But in her dream this didn't happen. Instead she dreamed of both her parents bursting into her room and after upturning the whole room, pointing bows and arrows at her.

Rae screamed.

Rae half woke up, shaking violently. She immediately started crying and unconsciously buried her face in his side. Since her eyes were closed she kept imagining her parents drawing back the arrow before letting them go, then laughing when they pierced her flesh. Rae bit her lip, trying to stop her crying.

Rae's breath got more ragged. "Don't let them hurt me. Don't let them hurt me," she whispered in a tortured voice over and over.
