Rae wondered watch had Paul so spooked, but when she saw the eyes her throat closed up and she began to shake. She quickly ducked behind Paul. "W-what is that th-thing?" She whispered shakily.

Let me take over.
What? Where have you been!?

Corona didn't answer. He forced himself into control of Paul's body, and his eyes flickered yellow as he did so. He stood up (his new confidence and intelligence being noticeable) and turned to Rae. "I think I know what it is, and we have to be careful, it only exists to kill. And if we don't take it seriously, we will die."

Loud footsteps came from the other side of the building. Loud, slow, frightening footsteps. Whatever it was, was coming closer.

Rae immediately nodded, but she was frightened out of her whits. "You be the brave one then. You're stronger...and..."

"Quickly." He pulled her into the alley way. Corona already noticed, but Rae may not have. Blood and pieces of flesh were splattered against the floor of the alley, most of it was hidden by the darkness. He made sure both of them were against the wall, as the large creature's footsteps drew even closer.

It came into view, walking down the street just mere feet from them. He covered her mouth to make sure she didn't scream - he wasn't sure if she would or not - at the sight of a large rotting lizard-looking creature. It stood nearly 10 feet tall, with a boney-swaying tail, and red piercing eyes. It had a large, primitive-looking axe in its hand, resting on its shoulder. Each footstep was quite loud, and dug slightly into the asphalt of the road.

The lights flickered some more, and more lamp posts shattered. Overwhelming feelings of sorrow and darkness filled Rae's mind as the creature's aura spread outward. A few more flickers and every light went out. Whether or not they were visible before, the moon and the stars were completely invisible now. All that they could see, was darkness, causing the large creature to effectively vanished.

The footsteps stopped.

Rae thought about squirming, but she was too frightened to and the aura of the monster kept her from doing so. Her eyes squeezed shut, she pressed into Corona's side - she had figured out it was him - and tried to keep breathing.

Is it gone?
No...... it saw us.

Corona stayed very still. He wasn't able to see in this human body. He wondered just how frightened Rae was, he had never felt fear in his entire life. It was an emotion he just wasn't capable of. It was then, red eyes appeared in the alley, right next to them, opposite of the street.

Rae felt her dinner come back up when she opened her eyes to see the red eyes staring right at her, but she forced it back down. No way was she going to ruin a perfectly fine night - not that it wasn't already ruined - by throwing up on him.

Rae leaned up to Corona's ear and whispered very quietly, "Think he can see us?"

He swung Rae to the side and effectively threw her to the ground as a huge claw came out from the darkness and just barely scratched his back. He ran out onto the street to help Rae up as the large shadow of the creature came roaring at them. The complete silence of the pitch black darkness around them only added to the frightening creature's aura, not to mention it could be barely be seen.

Rae scrambled to a standing position and as the beast came toward them, thought frantically. After less than a second she just began running. Whether it was the rigt thing to do or not, she wasn't sure. She just know she couldn't stand there and let it kill her.

"No!" He cried out as he grabbed her. "Your fear will only add to its bloodlust. There's no way you could ever hope to outrun it." He drew his sword, as it transformed into its enchanted form. "The only chance we have is to fight it. First we need to cut off its arm that holds that axe, or we can't get near its head.

The creature swung its axe downward and he jumped backwards out of the way. This thing was insane compared to a human, if he didn't think of something fast there was no way they'd ever survive.
