"Open up!" Alison Beauregard banged her fist on the door of her big brother, Jacob Beauregard's dorm room. "You said we could watch some stuff together at eight, and it's..." A slight pause, "Eight-oh-two! Get your butt out here or I'm coming in, dang it!"

Alison stood back and crossed her arms, huffing. The smell of chocolate flowed out from her open door just a few feet away, and she wondered if hot cocoa could burn on the stove. She shifted her weight onto one foot; she was wearing her school uniform as always, her skirt rolled up a couple inches and even wearing the socks, but she kept her shoes off for now.

She glanced back at her brother's door, wondering if he was in the shower. It would've been a lie if she said she wasn't feeling anxious; the nights she spent with her brother were always her favorite, so she was excited to spend a little more time with him again. He'd gotten a job and joined the school's soccer team, not to mention she also had plenty of shifts at the cafe, so that meant she got to see him less and less. Nights like these were precious; she liked having her brother's attention and time.

John went about his dorm, just doing his usual thing, tidying the room up like normal. He wore shorts and no shirt like always as he went about doing things. The young man looked toward the door when he heard the knock and hearing his sister's voice, pulling out his phone he checked the time. "Yeah hold on a second," grabbing his laptop, he set it on his bed, he bought her a few new things to watch.

Walking to the door, he pulled it open, "hey there," he said with a smile, "I was thinking you'd forgotten." He was teasing of course, he knew she wouldn't have forgotten, they both enjoyed their evenings together.

He'd step to the side to let her enter, "I'll order some pizza in a bit," he'd poke her ribs a little when she walked in. "Anime's on the desk otaku girl," he'd say with a teasing grin.

Alison nearly had a heart attack when the door opened to reveal her half-naked brother. "Jacob!" she cried, torn between feeling surprised and upset and covering her eyes, "I thought I told you to put on a dang shirt the next time I come over! You always do this."

While she wasn't that angry, she still scowled at him with a hot blush on her face. "I don't come over to your place half-naked, do I?" She huffed and crossed her arms, glancing past him and taking a few steps closer to get a look at this setup--only to squeak and run just a couple steps past him to escape his poking.

"No, I didn't forget; I thought we were going to watch it in my room tonight? Also...Is that a new shipment of anime?" A light entered her eyes as she went over to look at her choices. "I wonder if they have a new episode of Nan Desu Ka Oni-san?"

"Doesn't matter to me," he'd say as he closed the door behind them, "we can take it to your dorm if we want." He nearly burst out laughing when she named the anime, "uh...you're gonna have to translate for me...I got you a couple of box sets, but I ordered them under their English name," he did his best to hold back his laugh.

"But yeah, some new anime for you," he said, giving her cheek a gentle poke he stepped back over to her, "thought I'd surprise you with them, plus pizza which is always good."

He'd grab his laptop, "ok, we can watch it on here or the tv," he laid back on the bed, "watch your weird Chinese cartoon," he'd say, teasing her a little, he knew they weren't from China.

"Japanese, you dummy!" Alison huffed, then blushed even harder at the thought of sitting next to him when he was looking like that. She made a B-line for the door. "I'm going to go get the cocoa!"

After several minutes, Alison returned looking a lot less flustered, missing her uniform's jacket and holding a kettle and two empty mugs. The lack of a coat was the best she could do to match her brother's partial nudity without full on stripping. She fixed up a cup of hot cocoa for him. "Here. Thanks for the anime by the way. You're the best."

She went and checked out all the new shows he'd gotten and decided to take the easy way out and just mix them all up. Returning to Jacob's side, she held out the mixed-up DVDs. "Pick one, and no peeking! We're watching whatever one you pick, okay?"

He sipped the hot cocoa, "you could have made it here weirdo," he said playfully with a smile, "thank you though." Jacob loved their evenings together, watching anime and eating pizza, "I have some cocoa if we run out."

Closing his eyes he slowly pulled an anime from the pile, "hopefully it's not that weird magic girl one I got you," he'd say, his eyes still closed. Slowly he'd open his eyes and be relieved that it in fact wasn't said magic girl anime, "oh good," he chuckled a little, "this looks pretty good."

Jacob flipped the case around to show her, it was a horror anime about twin vampires, "this looks cool, not gonna crush on the guy character are you?" He gave her playful smile and handed it to her, "whatcha think? In the mood for a bit of horror?"

"No way! My dishes, my sink; I'm not going to make a mess of your apartment just for some hot cocoa, even if you are my brother," Alison laughed, pulling back the DVDs once he'd chosen so she could start pouring herself a mug of her own cocoa. She sat next to Jacob on the bed and leaned to see what he'd picked out.

"Hey! You're just jealous that you can't dress up in really cool dresses like they do. Then again...." The picture of making him wear some too-small sparkly dress popped up, and she starting cackling. His random anime pick distracted her from that mental image. "Oh hey! I've been looking forward to watching this one; one of my followers recommended it to me, said it's pretty new."

Alison went to put the movie into his laptop and opened it up, "Jacob, you know I'm going to fall for the guy character. He had my heart the first time I ever saw the show's poster." She sighed dreamily, and a little jokingly. With the show's opening playing, Alison leaned back and sipped her cocoa. "I'm always in the mood for a bit of horror--or romance. You aren't going to fall asleep on me watching this, are you?" she said with a teasing smile.

"I mean, were both watching the show and drinking the cocoa, I don't mind having a few dishes to do," he'd take a sip of the hot chocolate drink, "usually all I got are take out boxes and plastic forks, and I just throw them away." Not that he couldn't cook, it was just seemed oddly difficult to cook for just one, or even two, when Alison ate over, "plus, you're technically my guest, so from now on we'll use my dishes when you're over."

"Followers?"
he asked, getting up and grabbing a bag of marshmallows from his cupboard, "still hitting up those otaku sites, talking about your animus?" he'd purposely mispronounce anime just to get a little rise out of her. He'd drop a few marshmallows into his cocoa before returning to her, setting the bag beside her, "that weird guy still acting all annoyed because you refuse to watch Dragon Ball?"

He'd chuckle a little, "nah, I usually like horror pretty well," he'd sip his cocoa and gently poke her side, he didn't want to make her accidentally spill her drink, "not gonna get scared and hide under the blanket are you?" he'd ask, teasing her a little.

"Take-out boxes--Jacob, that's not very healthy..." Alison gave him a look, knowing he could eat healthier than that if he tried. She sighed and huffed, nodding a little; she couldn't say no to her big brother. "Fiiine. Why don't you ever come over to my dorm, Jacob? We're always doing stuff in here."

"Yeah, I run an anime blog, remember?"
She corrected his pronunciation and sipped at her cocoa, eyeing the screen that the horror anime was playing on. "I got tons of followers; no way I can just drop them all willy-nilly. They look forward to my content and cosplay." Shifting where she sat to give him a little space to sit back down, she groaned and shook her head. "No way; I blocked that guy a little while ago. He was a creep and I'm not going to watch that show no matter how much he compliments my boobs."

Alison gently batted his fingers away and grumbled, sipping her cocoa again. "Hey, maybe I will, Jacob; that means the anime's good. Actually--I'm kind of feeling cold right now," she said and went to set her mug down nearby to pull the blanket up to her waist. "I hope I get scared, don't you?"

"Yeaaaah...but it's kinda hard cooking for just one," he'd say, sipping his hot chocolate, "and that walnut shrimp from the Chinese place is so good." He'd say it all with a little playful grin as he added more marshmallows to his hot chocolate.

Alison would pick up a bit of anger from him, all directed toward the Internet creeper they were talking about. He was protective of his little sister, she was his family afterall, plus there were some other reasons for him to want to protect her.

He'd scoot over to her when she said she was cold, "I kinda can't get scared at a cartoon really, don't know why." Jacob would sit up and take the blanket from her, only to gently drape it around her shoulders, "though seeing you scream and jump is always funny."
