Appearance Description: Serafina is small, except for her wild, curly hair. She is pale white with brown hair and dark eyes. Much to her chagrin, Serafina doesn't tan, not even in the summer. Shes 5'2 and scrawny. Her hands and forearms are sprinkled with burn scars. She dresses in oversized, grungy clothes. Beanie caps and distressed denim jackets are staples of her wardrobes.
Personality Description: If Serafina were to describe herself in a word, it would be "disaster". She is well meaning, but her quick temper and tendency to jump to conclusions make her a bit abrasive. She's incredibly defensive, jumpy, self-conscious, and would rather burn bridges than face her own issues. At her best, though, Serafina is clever and quick on her feet. She is highly adaptable and fiercely protective of her friends.
Powers: Thermal Manipulation: Serafina can control the heat of her body and the heat of space directly around her. She can heat and cool her body within the range of -70 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Her body can withstand these temperatures, but can be harmed by temperatures exceeding this range. As an offshoot of this power, Serafina can freeze and boil liquids, (if she is holding it or very close to it) and can cause spontaneous combustion when in contact with certain substances. (paper, cloth, flammable liquids, wood, etc).
She can not yet consciously control this ability and it is tied directly to her emotions. She heats up when impassioned, happy, or embarrassed. She gets cold when afraid, sad, or anxious. Anger is tricky and can cause either heat or cold, sometimes in rapid fluctuation.

Biography:
-Born in France and grew up in an orphanage after her parents died.
-Adopted at 7 years old by an American couple, abandoned when she was too much to handle.
-Was in the Foster care system for eleven years. Had 4 different families in that time.
-Her powers combined with her temper got her a reputation as a pyromaniac.
-Began working in food service and living in a crappy apartment at 18 when she aged out of the system.
-Accidentally set her job on fire when her manager made a slimy remark at the end of a long shift.
-Fled arson charges, ended up in Los Angeles, and lived a few weeks in a women's shelter.
-Received her acceptance letter for Starlight Academy and jumped at the chance for higher education.
