"Let's see, there's Malara Tor, Harmonia Proxentias..." Natasha said as she jotted down the names of known designers on the island as she walked home from her meeting with Julian Vasile. S he knew that Harmonia wasn't a clothes designer per se, but the woman might be able to help them set up things for the fashion show or be a consultant of sorts. Natasha wasn't one to out rule any possibilities when it came to fundraisers.

And as she walked and jotted down ideas, Natasha lost track of time, and where she was until she stopped and realised that she had, by the looks of the buildings around her, wandered into an area of Manta Carlos that she was not super familiar with .. in other words, Natasha was lost.

"Damn it all. Not again," she sighed deeply and sort of in resignation. Natasha was, and always had been, somewhat directionally challenged, and could get lost anywhere and for no reason at all. Granted, on Manta Carlos, she has been much better, and didn't get lost as often. Though that was of small consolation since at the moment, the only thing she did know is that there had been an alleyway two blocks back that seemed familiar.

Ezra had been searching for hours but they weren't making any headway. Surely there had to be another magical cat on this island who had seen Tadashi. Their attempt to find out what had happened to their bakeneko friend had been near fruitless up until this point and talking to cats in hope of one of them answering seemed to be the most logical solution. They had been surprised to learn that the white haired bakeneko no longer lived on campus but they had been unable to ascertain where he had ended up.

After another failed attempt at feline communication, the Sho'lai couldn't help but sigh and lean against the alleyway wall. The constant negative results had begun to dampen their spirit, but what other options did they have? Shiro's advice had been straightforward but was full of malice at Ezra's supposed abandonment of Tadashi. But she did not know why they left that night or what the last six months had been like. Who was she to judge without knowing the facts?

With another sigh, Ezra could not help but to slump down and sit in the alley floor. They could not comprehend why the need to sit felt right, but it seemed to be the most appropriate action.

Putting her notebook away in her handbag, Natasha begrudgingly made her way back to the alley in hopes that it might provide her with some clue as to where she was. Or at least a street name so she could call a taxi to come to pick her up.

"I don't understand how this could happen," the vampire sighed as she found the alleyway with relative ease and turned to go down it in search of something, anything that might help her find her way back to the city centre.

After a few metres in, Natasha made out a figure slumped against an older brick building and sitting on the ground.

"Hey... Are you okay?" she asked as she approached what appeared to be a young male teenager.

Ezra glanced up from their seated position. They had not been expecting another person to be wandering in the alleyways or engage them in conversation. A quick realization dawned on them, however, as the woman who had asked about their well-being was one they had met once before.

"Miss Natasha. A pleasure to meet you in the flesh. I doubt you recognize me, but you assisted me months ago in a local antique shop to find a gift for my guardian." Ezra rose to their feet to give a bow to the woman in front of them before continuing to speak. "But to answer your previous question, I am perfectly healthy in physicality. Mentally, however, I believe that I am beginning to suffer from stress and possibly even frustration at my current social situation."

"How are you faring on this fine afternoon?"

"Ezra?" Natasha stopped in shock when the young man introduced himself to her - his voice and the way he spoke were instantly familiar to her as an image of a smartly dressed cat came to mind.

"You... I... I wouldn't have ever recognized you. You look really good, kinda of stressed, but good overall," she finally got out after her initial shock faded.

"I am well. Sort of lost at the moment if I am honest, but aside from that," she said as she found herself staring at Ezra again, finding the transformation for cat puppet to a young man quite amazing.

"Correct." Ezra nodded solemnly, crossing their arms over their chest. They weren't sure how to feel about the compliment so they just gave a few more nods as Natasha spoke. They wanted to converse further with the witch but every minute they waited was a minute longer that Tadashi was still hurt and supposedly heartbroken.

At the mention of being stressed, Ezra frowned ever so slightly. Was their distress that obvious? This situation was beginning to feel more and more complicated as time went on. "Miss Natasha, can I inquire for a moment of your time? I will gladly escort you out of this area. I am at a... bit of a crossroads with a peculiar social situation and I do not know what I am supposed to do. Multiple people have given advice, but I find their advice to be too childish in ways and too laced with malice in others. I have begun feeling pains in my chest the more I think about it..."

They sighed. "I wish for the pain to stop."

Upon hearing Ezra's heartfelt and very earnest request, Natasha looked at him with genuine concern. "Of course, Ezra. I'll do whatever I can to help you with whatever is troubling you," she told him.

"Why don't we get out of here, and you can tell me what the problem is while we're making our way back," she said as she gestured for him to accompany her out of there, and in hopefully the right direction. She highly doubted a poorly lighted back alleyway was the best place to discuss what was obviously bothering Ezra.

"I appreciate your quick response although I worry that you might not have the answer I seek, either."

Ezra followed alongside Natasha as they navigated the alleyways in the hope of not being lost. As they walked, the Sho'lai looked for any sign of cats in the area; one of them had to know where Tadashi had disappeared to.

"The question I am about to ask requires prior explanation. I departed the island about seven months ago in search of my clan." They started, eyes glancing everywhere but towards Natasha. "A promising lead had been given to Miss Asteria and we left in the night to quickly ascertain whether this lead was viable. A multitude of circumstances and issues developed while on this trip and we ended up off-island until my return a few days prior."

"During this time, I had not told anyone where I had departed to or kept in contact with anyone on the island. This included my friend Tadashi."

Ezra seemed to pause at this point, as if hesitating to continue.

"Unbeknownst to me, Tadashi apparently has abandonment issues and my disappearance, to him, was me abandoning him. According to his sister, I also 'broke his heart' but I do not quite understand how. I was told that it meant that Tadashi was so hurt by my leaving that he regretted ever loving me. I do not believe it was in a romantic context, but I have yet to hear anything from Tadashi personally so I cannot ascertain the truth in the matter."

"I have made multiple attempts in regards to reaching out to Tadashi in order to explain what had happened. There has been no response from him and I have been unable to locate his current whereabouts. I have endured hateful comments from both his sister as well as other people who seem to be aware of Tadashi's emotional turmoil. Insults do not bother me; my friend's pain does. How am I to help my friend when I cannot even find him? I have resorted to trying to communicate with felines in hopes of finding him as he is a bakeneko and might know other felines. I am beginning to find my efforts wasted."

Letting Ezra talk as they made their way back to the city centre, Natasha slowly became aware that she might actually know where his friend might be ... maybe. It was not like there were that many bakenekos on the island - and ones that had siblings and were around the age of Ezra (or so Natasha assumed) - probably even less.

"First of all, do you happen to know if your friend, Tadashi, has two sisters?" Natasha asked, wanting to make sure she wasn't confusing her facts before she said anything. She knew her friend's grandfather had adopted three bakeneko siblings last spring, but she wasn't sure if it was Ezra's friend or not.

"Secondly, I don't think your friend regrets caring for you or being friends with you," Natasha started, understanding quite a bit more about human nature than Ezra did, and wanting to reassure him that Tadashi probably didn't really feel that way.

"Although I do think he was probably confused and feeling bad, maybe even worried, because you left without saying anything," she explained.

"He most likely thought you didn't want to be his friend," Natasha added almost as an afterthought as she looked at Ezra and immediately felt bad for him since she knew that was not the case. If Ezra did not care, he'd not be here asking alley cats if they had seen his friend.

"However, now that you are back, and when we can find Tadashi... you can tell him about Miss Asteria and why you couldn't say goodbye, and I'm very sure he'd understand."

"...I believe so. I can say for certain that Tadashi has at least one sister. Her name is Shiro and she was rather disrespectful in our last meeting. I suspect she is angry for her brother's sake but her words were rather unbecoming of a lady."

Natasha's explanation, however, caught the Sho'lai's attention. Tadashi might have thought that Ezra no longer wanted to be friends? Absolute absurdity. Ezra would do anything for Tadashi if the bakeneko asked. They had the utmost faith that their friend was a great person and would not take advantage of their social naivete.

There was, however, a lingering doubt.

"...Do you believe that Tadashi would actually wish to speak with me again? I do not wish to force that conversation if would upset him further." Ezra seemed to shrink down on themselves, as if actually having self-doubt about the whole situation.
