"Nice," Hitome said in response to the other girl's gushing over Evanescence, "Though I usually prefer male bands, myself. D'you know AFI? They're really good. Their lyrics are amazing, too. It's all just so powerful! Gorgeous stuff, y'know?" She pulled out an mp3 player from her bag and a huge pair of speakers from her suitcase. It appeared that the speakers took up almost a quarter of the space in her luggage. To herself, she thought, 'I probably should have brought more clothes. But jeans are cheap and easy to get everywhere, and school t-shirts are plenty suficient to go running through the forest.'

"I've never thought about using my magnetism to break out of jail," she pondered, tapping a finger against her chin thoughtfully, "Though I suppose it would work, in theory. But I'd only do it if I though the person who was in jail didn't deserve to be. Because if you do something wrong and then are stupid enough to get caught, you deserve to wallow in a cell for a while, I think."

"Expression's always good. That's why I love music; it's just so expressive. The words the writers use, the beat and tempo and style the musicians choose; they all go into making a song express something just so powerfully-" She cut herself off, sighing in remembered bliss. It looked as if she barely recalled she had someone she was talking to. "-It's all just so gorgeous." Breaking out of her trance, she shook her head and smiled at Ember. "I love words. Languages can be so beautiful."

"Really? I like them all. I love AFI!! There's this one song, i can't remember the name, but it's in the intro to Miss Murder Director's Cut. It goes: This is what I brought you this you can keep, this is what I brought you may forget me. I promise to depart just promise one thing, kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep..." Ember sang along, humming the rest of the way before remembering that Hitome was right next to her. "Oh Sorry, but that's how it starts out, you know it? Oh, do you like 30 Seconds to Mars?"

Ember watched as Hitome pulled out a pair of big speakers from her suitcase. "Are you able to connect your MP3 to that?" She asked. She stuffed her hands in her pocket, making sur she still had her iPOD with her. She would've died if she lost it. All of her favorite songs were on that thing. Ember just shrugged in agreement to Hitome's comment about busting out of jail.

"That is so true, which is why i always have my handydandy notebook with me, for whenever i'm in the mood to write how i feel, if i get anyidea, to doodle, etc. It's the absolute perfect way to express yourself. I would love to sing and stuff, if i had the talent..."

Grinning and hitting a button on her mp3, Hitome proved without saying anything that her music player connected to her speakers. As AFI's Prelude 12/21 rumbled out of the speakers and Davey's sweet voice overroaded the sound waves, she smiled even more, her eyes closing in pleasure and appreciation. //This is what I brought you, this you can keep. This is what I brought, you may forget me. I promise to depart, just promise one thing: Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep.//

"That song?" she asked with a smile in her voice. "I love that song. It's Prelude 12/21, and possibly one of the best songs on the album, in my opinion. And I do like 30 Seconds to Mars, but I don't listen to them often."

"I definitely always have paper and pen with me." To prove her point, she turned out her front pockets, revealing at least six different colored pens. She reached into her back pocket and pulled a little notebook, obviously well used, and probably running out of pages. "You never know when an idea will come to you." At Ember's comment about musical ability, she laughed out loud. "Oh, I'm a terrible singer! I just like to sing. Feel free to throw something at me if my voice becomes too disgusting to listen to. I just like to sing and listen to music, and I like to analyze it. The lyrics, especially. For that, you can thank my last English teacher."

Ember jumped up and down saying: "Yeah! That's the one!" She laughed at herself for being so dorky. "I love 30 Seconds to Mars, and thier video "The Kill" gave me the biggest idea for a thriller movie." She smiled and collapsed on her bed.

"I keep mine in my bag," She said showing Hitome a small black messenger bag styled purse. "And i keep all of my used notebooks as well.." She opened her suitcase and pulled out at least 4 normal sized notebooks and flipped thorugh each, clearly eeing each page covered with writing. "i love to write."

"I love singing too, but whenever i do, my mom and dad would always critisize me.." Ember said witha frown. "But when i sang at school, my friends would say that i don't have a bad voice, i just need to know at what tone i should sing. But it's not like i'd want to become the next Amy Lee or anything; though i always did want to start a band..." She trailed off thinking about how her best friend Julia and her had alwyas wanted to starta rock band, but never did. "Did your last Enlgish teacher teach you about analyzing lyrics or something?"

"Ooh, I love that music video," Hitome said, squeeing, "Though I don't love thrillers."

She rummaged through her suitcase, pulling out a huge, overstuffed black binder, then a battered laptop, followed, finally, by a case for external memory cards. "I just use that little one for quick notes. I've usually got at least a smaller notebook out of my binder with me at all times." Flipping through the pages showed page after page of terrible handwriting in lots of colors, with lots of scribbling in between. "I like to write. But I don't usually like what I write. That's what the red pen is for."

"Everyone I know criticizes me when I start singing!" she laughed. "That doesn't stop me, though. And I've always wanted to be in a band, though I can't actually play anything, really. Well, I know a few guitar chords, but not really enough to play well..." She paused and hummed a bit to herself, before shaking her head, as if to clear the music. "My English teacher taught us to analyze everything. I can't read two lines without thinking about diction and figurative language, half the time."

"I know, the video is awsome. But would you still see a thirller?"She asked. She needed to know, especially if they planned some sort of movie night or something.

"You have a laptop too?!" She asked, pulling out her own, whcih, unlike Hitome's, was a little more new in appearence. "I got it about a year ago, and i've been transferring all of my idea, songs, poems, etc to this ocmputer. I swear it's like my life." She hugged her laptop and set it down on her bed.

"So, everything that you've written that you don't like, you scratch over with red pen? Or do you just put a little mark on the top saying that you don't like that certain idea?"

"I can play the guitar, but only acoustic. My music teacher always used to tell me that everyone can sing, all you have to do is find your voice while singing, and not try to sing like the actual singer; which i think is pretty good advice." Ember laughed at herself and moved over towards the window. "Wow, my previous Enlgish teacher never taught me any of that stuff. Well he did, but not thoroughly."

"Eh, I guess. I don't love to. I prefer the epic historical movies, or huge fantasies. I like fighting scenes with swords and stuff, but not so much with the zombies," Hitome said with a chuckle. Almost shame-faced, she added, "And I do like chick flicks some times."

"I usually type things straight onto my laptop, or every few pages I type it, so there hasn't been much transfering. And despite viruses and a few near-deadly falls, but it's proved to be resilient." She patted her laptop lovingly, almost like a puppy.

"Yeah, the red pen's my most used pen. I cross out anything I don't like. The worse it is, the more violent it gets." She flipped through a few pages, and finally got to the one she was trying to show. It looked like it had been sprayed with fresh blood, because it was so completely covered in red ink.

"That sounds like good advice. I should try and take it. I try to sound like the singers a lot, but usually while I'm listening to my mp3 in my ears, and I can't hear it myself." She shrugged. "I dunno."

"Yeah, my English teacher was certainly thorough. The whole point of the course was the composition of language influencing meaning."

"Oh, I love fantasy movies too. The ones about witches and mermaids are awsome," She said with a laugh."And you're right, i also enjoy watching a good chick flick now and then."

"Yeah, but i can't bring my laptop everywhere, so when i don't i write in ym notebook and i then transfer everything onto the laptop. Well at least your laptop works, right?"

"Oh my God, talk about hating something..." She laughed at observed all of the scratch marks and scribbles. If i may ask, what was it originally about, that is, if you still remember."

"I used to do the exact same thing...but i knew i would never sound like the singer. I alwasy have to hear myself sing, which is usually why i only wear one headphone instead of both of them."

"Hmm, so, i guess you learned a lot from your English teacher," Ember said with a smile.
