Private Reunited

"You liked me and got hurt. My leaving tainted how you perceive possible friendships or romantic intentions." Ezra stated, looking at Tadashi with a curious glance. "From my perspective, I only see three possible outcomes to the current predicament. Either we can attempt to continue our relationship from where we left it previously, we can attempt to restart our relationship from the beginning in order to establish trust, or we go our separate ways and no longer speak to one another."

Ezra pushed themselves off from the bench and slowly moved so they stood in front of Tadashi. They made sure that there was enough space for the bakeneko to not feel totally smothered but was close enough to show that their attention was solely focused on the boy and not anything else around. At least, that's how they hoped Tadashi would perceive it.

"I would rather continue our relationship from where it had previously been prior to my leaving the island. It appears that idea is rather unrealistic, based on our conversation up until this point. I also believe that you would rather not end our relationship, but that is only based on an assumption and has no factual evidence to support that. But I would understand if you needed to find time away from me. I have been told that I am... difficult to socialize with and there are clearly emotional barriers that I cannot comprehend while you seem unsure of what you want from this meeting. You are upset with me but you still care about me. You said you hated me but you stayed to hear the truth of my origins."

Ezra paused, placing a finger to their chin. They squatted down, still staring at the bakeneko with one arm resting on their knees. "You are a complicated individual, Tadashi. I find that the more I learn about this world, the more I am confused about everything in it. But I am certain of a few things, at least. I am certain that I want to be around you in whatever capacity you would want me, whether that is how we were once or maybe something more. I am willing to do what it takes to rebuild and strengthen our relationship. Do you wish to do the same?"

"I suppose that is a reasonable answer. Take all the time you need to figure out your thoughts and feelings."

Ezra attempted a faint smile but quickly reverted to their usual facial expression. Tadashi was apparently beginning to nod off and had once again became a feline. The shifting between forms was a curious phenomena and one that Ezra had not quite fully grasped. How did it feel to shift into another creature? Did it hurt? Would a person's physiology change drastically when shifting? How did it change when a person shifted into an animal with a completely different biological makeup? So many questions but no one who could answer.

"I will escort you home, Tadashi. I just need you to tell me where I need to take you." They knelt down in front of the bench, arms open. "I can carry you if you wish to nap. I will levitate as well so you may sleep peacefully."

Ezra hummed softly as Tadashi climbed into their arms and the Sho'lai seemed to relax after a moment. They had always figured the bakeneko's fur was soft, but they were surprised at just how soft it really was. They stood quietly as Tadashi explained his new address and apparent adoption. How curious that the elite of the island would gladly adopt those without a home. It was almost similar to Asteria adopting Ezra, except for the part where she murdered a majority of them to stop the world ending.

...So sort of similar.

Carefully pulling out their phone, Ezra was able to type in the address (with some difficulty) to the Del Bosque residence and begun to levitate off of the ground. With a careful grip around the exhausted feline, they quickly began their slow "flight" back to Tadashi's new home. "Go ahead and rest, Tadashi, I will awaken you upon our arrival to your home."
