Diligo stood silently, pondering to himself, like he had done so many times before in his old home. Painful as his change in environment had been, he found it hard not to exploit every similarity in unfamiliar land. Diligo sighed, and the wind seemed to imitated, peacefully blowing back his hair.
It wasn't too long ago that Diligo had left the ruins he called home. He had no family anymore, no one lived their anymore, no one had lived their for over 3 years; he realized this, and yet his soul was still heavy as lead. Diligo knew now, he could no longer live in memories, and yet, it only seemed the chains binding him to the past, were growing stronger.
"By the gods" the demigod mumbled silently, "what force binds me back to lonely ruin / Is the now not more worthwhile than the past?"
As swallows began to grow used to the human and flock around the area, Diligo realized how long he had been sitting in the spot. He realized he needed to step in the academy soon, he had to begin anew; but he still didn't let go.
