Diligo stood silently, pondering to himself, like he had done so many times before in his old home. Painful as his change in environment had been, he found it hard not to exploit every similarity in unfamiliar land. Diligo sighed, and the wind seemed to imitated, peacefully blowing back his hair.

It wasn't too long ago that Diligo had left the ruins he called home. He had no family anymore, no one lived their anymore, no one had lived their for over 3 years; he realized this, and yet his soul was still heavy as lead. Diligo knew now, he could no longer live in memories, and yet, it only seemed the chains binding him to the past, were growing stronger.

"By the gods" the demigod mumbled silently, "what force binds me back to lonely ruin / Is the now not more worthwhile than the past?"

As swallows began to grow used to the human and flock around the area, Diligo realized how long he had been sitting in the spot. He realized he needed to step in the academy soon, he had to begin anew; but he still didn't let go.

Sagari stumbled through the trees, a long cape was draped over her shoulders, tied by a ribbon in front of her neck. Today she wore a sky blue skirt with no bells on it. Her top was a black tee shirt that fit her well, her short brown hair was ruffled slightly, her bangs were longer than the rest of her hair were pulled behind her ears.

As she walked into a clearing, she saw a young man sitting with swallows surrounding him.

She quieted her approach not wanting to disturb him. Unfortunately, the birds didn't have the same respect as she did.
They jumped up and flew away, the beating of their wings was deafening and Sagari stood frozen in her place, birds were slightly terrifying to her, and the large amount that had just "attacked" her left her in a state of shock.

Oh dear... she said, her lips barely moving.

As the birds fluttered away, Diligo's conscience returned to him in full. He leaped up swiftly, his wine red fuzzy poncho thing fluttering and making him look like a sort of bird himself. Initial reaction was rage, but then he saw the cause..

Though slightly naive and terrible at seeing the hidden, Diligo could easily read what people weren't trying to hide. Purity was easily one of those things, and through Sagari, Diligo felt it bright as day. He eased his mood and walked up to who seemed a little distressed.

Suddenly I realized I don't know what to say at all, I'm not too good with girls my age. he noticed. Instead, he waited for her to respond.

She looked at the young man, he looked to be about her age. She notice his rage at first but then he calmed, he walked up and paused in front of her, seemingly not knowing what to say.
oh...dear... she repeated loosening her stance and becoming more comfortable around him.
I'm terrible sorry to have disturbed you... she said returning her eyes to the ground instead of his face...
now what?...
My name is Sagari, Sagari Nianya... she said looking up into his eyes with a smile.

"No, don't apologize, I was planning on getting up soon anyway." This was only a half truth, but sometimes its easier to say things that you want to be true than it is to say what really is. Diligo knew that much.

"The name's Diligo, I'm afraid I don't have a family name." This was a half truth as well. Diligo, without conveying outward emotion, quickly scolded himself from speaking in riddles. He took a slight breath and tried his best to be more cheery, not really sure if it would be that simple.

"Sorry I acted a bit rude earlier, its simply that where I was brought up I, never really met too many people my own age. This whole school thing is all a bit new to me." Diligo calmly stated. Perhaps a bit too calmly, but one can be very foolish when being near something or someone new.

"So... What brings you to the forest at this hour?" Suddenly Diligo realized it was late afternoon and a unusually normal time to be outside, but he let it slide, hoping she wouldn't notice.

Sagari relaxed her stance completely now, and her smile reached her eyes, he was nicer than she had imagined from his first reaction.
It is nice to meet you Diligo, I just needed some time alone I usually spend all my time with one person but I needed to get out of the house...well the school and have some time to myself...what about you? I haven't seen you around the school before...well I'm fairly new myself but still. she said. When she met new people it was common of her to ramble. But then, she rarely noticed and the smile remained on her face as though she hadn't just been making a fool of herself.

"Well, you probably wouldn't of. See, thing is, I haven't actually gone to the school yet. I'm enrolled, but, I just can't bring myself to walk in just yet..."

Diligo could see the school in the corner of his eye. He imagined that if he could see his shoulder angels (Do angels have Shoulder angels? Probably not) bickering with each other. You're going to have to go eventually. You only make things harder on yourself. and A little longer wouldn't hurt. He wondered to himself which angel was holy and which one satanic.

"I've been wanting to stroll the forests for a while now. Feminine much, yes, but I can't help it." Diligo suddenly said. "Care to join me?"

Sagari nodded her head, she knew what it felt like to belong somewhere but also not belong at the same time. It was frustrating and it took a toll on your whole being.
She didn't want to say she knew how he felt though, because she didn't. Truth be told she was glad when she could get away from her family and join the school.

She smiled when he asked if she would like to walk with him and nodded her head.
I would like that, and don't worry it's not that feminine

"Thanks, I'll believe you on this one." Diligo said, and he began to walk. He never walked to quickly, but had that strange property of moving much faster than he appeared to be. Their was no magic involved in this, it was simply the way he carried himself.

"Perhaps," his uncle had once mentioned to him when he noticed, "that is a sort of magic in itself." Diligo suddenly realized that Sagari had the same kind of thing in herself. Her smile, the way people could ease up to her so easily. Diligo considered such things more magical than any bit of sorcery. People, his mind said to himself, really are quite amazing beings.

"I probably should of mentioned earlier." Diligo said. "Their aren't any paths in this place, so we may have to refrain from turning too much, or get lost." You know your way around these places?"

Sagari watched him walk off, he seemed to move so quickly but she caught up with him with ease, so he couldn't move as fast as she thought he did...
Their aren't any paths in this place, so we may have to refrain from turning too much, or get lost." You know your way around these places?"

She thought about that a moment...she'd never been in the forests before...and with her poor sense of direction she would definately get lost with even the slightest slip up.

No...I haven't actually been here before. I'm sure if I hadn't have found you I probably wouldn't have been able to find my way back to the school... After she said this she reached her arm up and wrapped it around his.
So I don't get lost...I have a horrible sense of direction. If it bothers you just tell me and I'll let go...
