Cade looked on as Atalia applauded him for his first skill. She seemed to be impressed by it. She had assumed that it took him a while to work on it and master it. However that was not the case. He still has problems controlling them at times. Hence, his burns and scars on his arms. "Indeed, it takes work, but I haven't worked on it much rather. I still have problems controlling it at times, hence my scars." he exclaimed gesturing to his arms. She then complimented his black wings. According to her, they are 'beautiful'. A rare smile curved his lips as he heard this, for he never thought anyone would consider anything about him to be 'beautiful'. "......Thanks......"

Atalia gasped at his scars. With every gift, there had to be a price she supposed. She bit her lip, and tilted her head. "Guess you gotta be more careful, huh? Having some powers can be dangerous... Elatrion is that way... Her illusions sometimes get the best of her. Though, I haven't managed to drown myself yet." She said, trying to lighten up the mood. She nodded as he thanked her for the compliment, and she raised an eyebrow, because his voice seemed a bit confused. "Do you not think they are beautiful?"

Indeed, not only gifts, but anything in life comes with a price and Cade learned that the hard way. "Yes, well, like I've said before. I can manage." When the girl asked if he really thought his wings were beautiful. He never considered his wings to be beautiful, more like a lifetime curse but he had to deal with it. "Well, not really. I think of it as a curse more than a gift. I just have to deal with it."

Hmm... This man sure was somber. He didn't seem to get too excited about much. His powers hurt him, and he didn't like his wings. She smiled, and raised an eyebrow. "Well, can't you fly?" She said, as she made her own wings begin to flap rapidly like a butterfly. Atalia grinned, and she nodded. "Flying is easy! I can teach you if you don't know how."

Indeed Cade was feeling blue. But he has his reasons. Emotionally, these induce pain, like he is scarred for life. He has poor control of his eye beams, and he could barely do anything with his wings. He answered to the girl "These wings are doing nothing but weighing me down, and I can't even fly yet! I burn myself whenever I use my eye beams and it hurts my eyes! What am I to do?" He sighed. He then turned to Atalia when she offered to help. "You mean, you can help me? How?"

Atalia frowned, and wrapped her arms around the poor boy's neck in a small hug. "It's okay, I'll help you. Don't worry, okay?" She let go of him, still suspended in air, and ascended a bit more into the air. She looked down at him, and tapped her chin, thinking how she could help him. She smiled, and got an idea. "Well first off, what can you do with your wings?"

She must have known he was feeling so she hugged him. When she did that, he smiled softly. That seemed to have cheered him up, just a little. He watched as she ascended into the air. He desparetly wished he could go up that high. "Well, I can ascend, float in the air, not too far up though. Let me try it." He forced his wings to flap and when he did so, he began to ascend as well. He got up about two feet from the ground and couldn't go up farther than that. "I can't seem to get up higher than this."

Atalia tapped her chin again, and let out a soft 'hmm..'. She nodded, and smiled a bit. "That's good, but with feathered wings, you need to flap a little harder to get higher. The first couple flaps are for initial lift off, and then you need another extra 'oomph,' for the higher ascention." She nodded encouraginly, and smiled. This was going to be interesting. She loved helping people, and well, he seemed like he needed it.

She hoped she was giving him the right direction, for she herself did not have feathered wings. Her sister did, but she had butterfly like wings, which as she understood, were much easier to control, though they required much more energy to handle.

Cade did just as Atalia had suggested and pushed his wings to flap again and harder. He slowly started to feel a difference. He ascended again, even higher than before. He was about another foot off the ground now. He looked up to Atalia who was higher in the air than he was, nodded and smiled. "I think....I think I'm doing it..." Apparently he jinxed himself. Just seconds after he said that, he descended to the ground and fast. Before hitting the ground, he flapped his black feathe wings again and ascended again, three feet above the ground. "I think I'm getting it."

Atalia became excited, and clapped for him. "Your doing marvelous! Way to go!" She giggled a little as he struggled to keep himself in the air. "It gets easier, I promise. Right now you need to concentrate and feel your movements. But as soon as you get used to it, and it becomes comfortable, you won't even have to think about it." She flew around him in a circle, twisting her body as she did so. "You'll end up just floating..." She sighed, she loved flying, and being the in air. It made her feel like she had some control over her life, and was... free.
