Honua knew she that wouldn't like having a roommate and now she was proving herself right. Her whole life she was used to having her own bedroom with her own belongings and now she had to share half of her room with someone else. She hated the books, the lack of privacy and how it was never completely silent anymore. To top it all off, it seemed as though William was following her. The last thing she needed was a lap dog.

Usually, she would head to the gym at that time of day but she wanted to test to see if her roommate actually was following her. The corridors in the school were busy, students making their way to the cafeteria for lunch. It was the best time to train; no one would have a lesson in the room she liked to train in. Turning a corner, she joined the crowd of people to blend in, walking at the same pace as to not stand out. Thankfully, there were quite a few people that were taller than her so the purple hair didn't make her stand out.

Once at the end of the corridor, Honua turned a corner once again, though this time she waited, arms crossed and shoulder against the wall. She had left enough wall space so that Will wouldn't be able to see her until he turned the corner also. Seeing his familiar face, she sighed. "Quit following me," she said, an irritated expression on her face.

She was onto him. He knew it. He had a feeling deep down in his gut, almost like a sixth sense. Will almost considered stopping, but decided against it with some consideration. Stopping would only make the situation seem worse. He had started following Honua without even realizing it, and now he had no choice but to keep going. He would just say he had a question to ask her. Yeah!

Before Will knew it, he had lost her among the students. The halls were quite crowded, and as students were moving both with him and against him, he had a difficult time getting through. He tried to spot Honua's purple hair, which usually stood out quite a bit, but couldn't seem to locate her.

Once Will was past the more dense part of the crowd, he began picking up speed. She was nowhere to be seen, so unless she developed super speed in the span of a few seconds, she had turned a corner. He turned the first one he came across.

And nearly ran straight into Honua.

Will came to an abrupt stop, and instead of falling forwards like he thought he was going to, he somehow fell backwards. The marks on his hands flared brightly as he hit the ground.

"Oh! Honua!" he said. "I-I was just—I was gonna—I'm trying to—I wanted to ask you a question!"

She maintained her posture against the wall as her roommate fell back, a burst of bright light coming from his hands when he did. Honua was holding back a laugh successfully, she wanted to keep an annoyed expression.

Falling backwards on his ass was not what she had imagined would happen when he came around the corner but it made her opinions of him lower even more. Honua didn't have high opinions of anyone anymore, especially people her own age.

As he stumbled over his own words, she continued to look down on him without the slightest change in her expression. "Well, go on then," she ordered, hoping that this question that drove him to follow her wouldn't take long. Will had asked questions when he first arrived here and it seemed he wasn't done with his interrogation. Honua's business was her own, not there for someone else to pry and that was the way she kept it. Maybe there was a part of her deep down that wanted to talk to someone else, but if there was, she kept it buried. Letting someone know your feelings was a weakness and weaknesses lead to failure.

Will got up quickly and chuckled. He had to do something. He didn't think he would run into Honua so soon, so he thought he would have more time to think of an actual question. He began tracing the marks on his hands, which glowed wherever he touched them.

"Well..." Will began slowly to bide for time. His mind raced for an actual question that would warrant following her around. "You see... the thing is.... Funny thing, really. I actually forgot what I was going to ask." He chuckled again and began absentmindedly throwing a fireball back and forth between each hand.

Will knew that his roommate was getting more and more annoyed without even having to look at her. Realizing that this was a futile effort and that he was probably making this more serious than it had to be, he hung his head in defeat and sighed. "Sorry," he said. "I was actually just kinda... following you around. It's just that, we haven't really talked much, and I'm not really used to that because, well, everybody talks to me! Not to brag or anything. I just wanted to see what kind of stuff you're into, that's all." Will felt like a child that had just been caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar, but he couldn't think of any other way to explain it.

Honua raised an eyebrow, waiting for a coherent sentence to actually leave his mouth. She got the impression that he didn't actually want to ask her a question but that lead to the thought of why he was following her in the first place. Looking down at his hands, she noticed the ball of fire that jumped between them.

Listening to his explanation, Honua let out a sigh. His curiousity annoyed her but he was too nice of a person to stay annoyed at. Will had not shown any ill intentions yet and maybe trusting the person she shared a room with would be more beneficial. She still stayed stubborn, though. "Why?" she asked. There wasn't a lot about her that would be interesting, she thought, or that she was comfortable sharing. On the first day of him moving in, she had already told him more than she would have liked but still, he wanted to know more.

Eventually, Honua gave in. "Alright, what do you want to know?" Her shoulder left the wall as she stood up properly, her arms still crossed. Honua already had a good idea of who her roommate was already; he talked more than she liked and she may have had a quick look through some of his belongings.

William visibly brightened at Honua's response. Although he wanted to say otherwise, he had been expecting a completely different response. However, that just solidified his resolve to get to know her better. Will wasn't the type to live in the same room as someone and not learn as much about them as he could.

"Well, for starters—"

Will was abruptly interrupted as something heavy landed on his back... or someone, based on the shape. He quickly moved to get the person off before a familiar voice spoke into his ear.

"Who would've guessed that the first that the first time I saw you at this school, you'd be making a fool of yourself?"

Will gasped and glanced over his shoulder, and his vision was filled with the face of his demonic friend, Matthew.

"Matt?" he asked. "Matt! Oh my gosh! What are you doing here?"

The demon in question grinned. "Well, I did say that I would be coming here soon, didn't I? But more importantly...." He gestured to Honua. "Who's the girl? Wait.... Don't tell me! How could you, Will! I thought your sights were set on me!"

Will ignored the teasing and looked back to Honua, the smile on his face unwavering. He didn't quite mind that Matt was still on his back. "Honua, this is Matt," he said. "Matt, this is Honua, my roommate."

Oh great, now there's two of them... thought Honua as a boy jumped on Will's back. The two clearly knew each other. Just by watching him for the short time as he joked with Will, she knew the type of person he was. People like him got on her nerves more so than people like Will. At least with her roommate, his over friendlyness was tolerable but she got the impression that this other guy was more mischievous.

Honua especially did not like being called 'the girl'. Her fingers moved to fiddle with the ring on her left pinky unknowingly, spinning it around. "A friend of yours?" she asked Will in an unimpressed tone. Her roommate introduced his friend, though she never gave him a glance, her eyes remaining on Will. "A pleasure," greeted Honua with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

She considered at least giving him a chance. After all, her judgement in people has been wrong before; more times than she would care to admit. Honua had chosen dinner time to train as she thought no one would bother her. It seemed as though that wouldn't be the case.

Will, as oblivious as he was, did not catch anything different in Honua's tone. Matt, however, squinted his eyes for half a second. He slid off of Will's back and stood next to him, crossing his arms. "Now, I don't want you to feel any, um... animosity towards me. You hear that? Animosity? Will taught me that word." He smiled at his friend, who smiled back.

"Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of power do you have?" he asked. "I've been having a great time seeing what other people can do while looking for Will, so I think it'd be good to know what the person sharing a room with him can do."

The demigod in question turned to his friend. "You sure get right to the point, don't you?"

"I got it from you, didn't I? The way you were curious as a child really rubbed off on me."

Matt turned back to Honua. "So how 'bout it? I've got this lightning—" He demonstrated by letting lightning arc down his arm. "—but I'll admit, it gets stale after a while."

"Oh wow," retorted Honua, that hint of sarcasm still present. Her eyes just drifted between the two of them as they smiled at each other. In her head, her eyes rolled, though she didn't actually carry out the action. Her mother had told her not to be so hard on people, that they weren't all the same. She tried but it was easier said than done. Too many people had screwed her over in her life.

Matt's little light show was... kind of disappointing. There were so many beings on the island that could manipulate electricity and lightning that it was just a regular thing. "Let's just say that I could rearrange that face of yours." Was that too harsh? Possibly, though she would not apologize. Honua could deal with Will's powers but if she ever got in a fight with Matt, it might not be so easy. There weren't many nonconductive materials that were strong, that she could get a hold of, so letting him know her abilities would put her at a disadvantage.

Will's smile slowly dropped from his face as he heard those words come from his roommate's mouth. It turned back into a more forced grin as he took in Matt's smug smile, which would've looked completely innocent to anyone that didn't know him better. Will put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, maybe you should go," he said. "We can talk later."

Matt quickly opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again after shaking his head. He then said, "Come on, man...." in a tone that Will would've described as "dejected" if it was anyone other than Matt. However, the smile reappeared on his face. "I mean, I don't doubt that she could rearrange my face," he said. "Hell, she looks like she could even give you a run for your money, Will! The thing is...."

If Will wasn't paying attention, he would've thought that Matt had just appeared behind Honua, but he knew that the demon just used his Boost. He poked Honua in the back and let a small shock surge through him, transferring to her. He then ran back to Will's side, crossing his arms again.

"... you can't hit what you can't catch," he finished. "Well, unless your power is super speed or something. Which I don't think is that case, or else you would've dodged me."
