Honua looked on as Matt talked to her roommate, almost absent mindedly. Suddenly, the boy was gone. It happened so fast that she barely had time to comprehend it. A small surge of electricity jolted on her back as she swing herself around to punch exactly where Matt's face was... only, he wasn't there. Great! He's a speedster too, she thought to herself.

Surely enough, Matt was stood right next to Will, continuing his discussion as she turned back to face them. A deep sigh escaped her lips. There was no way she would be able to keep up with his super speed and she hated it. Honua hated feeling like she wasn't in control of the situation.

Clenching her jaw together, she returned her expression to a blank one, not showing that it annoyed her anymore. She was tempted to say: "do that again and I'll...' but there was nothing really that she could do. There was no way that she could think of to catch someone with that speed off guard. Instead, she chose to avoid any more confrontation, turning on her heels. "See you later, Will."

Will's eyes widened as he saw Honua turn to leave. He turned around to scold Matt silently—to which the demon simply shrugged—and went to catch up to his roommate. He grabbed onto her wrist gently, but promptly let go after remembering her reaction to getting poked in the back. "Please, hold on a second!" he said. "I'll talk to Matt. Just don't leave yet. Please."

Will then turned back to his friend and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Listen, Matt...." He felt like a parent that was about to scold his child. The thought nearly put a smile on his face, but he suppressed the urge.

"You have to understand that some people are very easy to provoke," Will said. "Honua happens to be one of those people. She just doesn't really like people messing with her. That's all."

"Really? Well, you know that I'm one of those people too, Will," Matt said. "And she came at me first!" He chuckled and shook his head. "I really sound like a child with the way I'm trying to defend myself."

"I know you wanna talk with me, Matt, but that can come at another time. I hope you're not too upset me with."

Matt waved his hand dismissively. "Yeah, yeah," he said. "It's not really that big a deal, and I wasn't trying to make it one, but I guess that's kinda what it seemed like, huh?" He sighed. "I guess I'll catch you later, then. Hey, and you too!" He pointed to Honua. "We're not done with our conversation." With that, he ran off in the other direction without warning, causing Will to jump.

Once the demon was gone, Will turned back to Honua, rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry about Matt," he said. "I guess your personalities really clashed, huh?"

Honua felt a hand touch her wrist as Will spoke behind her. She stopped momentarily, sighing yet again, before turning to face him. He walked back over to Matt as she looked on. The guy didn't seem like he was a bad person but he was just really annoying, a little how she imagined a younger brother would be. She was grateful she didn't have one of them.

Matt called over to her yet no words left her lips before he had run off. When it was just the two of them again, Will walked over to her. Honua did not answer his question, looking to the right of him to avoid eye contact. "What did you want to ask me, Will?" she questioned.

After dwelling on it a bit more, she felt like she needed to apologise for her behaivour. The two of them seemed to be be good friends... but no. He had started it. She only retaliated. It was not worth her apology. Once again, Honua convinced herself that she was not in the wrong, the rest of the world was wrong.

Will simply stood there for second, suddenly lost in his own thoughts. He replayed the previous situation again and again in his head. Once the realization came to him that he had never been in the middle of two people about to engage in a fight, it sent a shiver down his spine. He had always been there after Matt had finished fighting someone. It wasn't really a big deal to him, but it made him think.

It took a few seconds before Will realized that he was being spoken. He broke out of his trance and looked over to Honua, processing what she had asked. "Well," he said, "I guess something that Matt said made me think. Do you wanna have a sparring match or something?" He chuckled. "I thought you might be wanna take your anger out on someone after Matt annoyed you so much."

And, to show that he was up for the challenge, he slightly puffed out his chest. And, after realizing he looked quite ridiculous, stopped immediately.

She considered it for a moment. Honua liked to be alone when she trained but maybe a moving target would be better to practice with. In the short time she had been on the island, she had already sparred with a couple of people and it was a lot better than hitting a bag or pole that is stationary; it kept her on her toes and was less predictable.

"Are you sure you can keep up?" she asked. Will had told her that he liked to fight but she did not yet know the level at which he could. Sure, her roommate was slightly taller than her, but that made her a smaller target and possibly more nimble.

Honua snorted as Will puffed out his chest. She imagined he was trying to look more intimidating but it failed. Rolling her eyes and turning on her heels, with a smile, she said: "come on then, tough guy."

Will felt like he should've been offended by being asked if he could keep up, but the feeling didn't come to him. Instead, he mentally high-fived himself for getting her to say yes, but managed to keep his composure on the outside. He figured that it probably wasn't that big of an achievement, but felt that sparring was a great way to get a feel for someone, both literally and figuratively.

Plus, he had wanted to spar with someone since he got to this island.

Will had a more visible reaction when he got Honua to smile, but luckily she had already turned her back. He walked quickly to catch up to her. "So, I guess you should lead the way," he said. "To be honest, I haven't explored the school all that much, other than the library and the cafeteria. And my classes. And—well, I'm trying to say that I don't know where the gym is, or wherever you do your sparring, or.... Sorry. I'm rambling. I'm just excited."

Again, Will became annoying. He was one of those people who couldn't contain words in his mouth when he was excited, they just all flooded out. Honua just kept her gaze forward and carried on to her destination.

Usually, she would train in an unused classroom that was designed for combat training but this time, a bit more space might be useful. She lead him down the corridors, that were now fairly empty, to the gym. Tossing her bag to the side of the room, Honua began to wrap up her hands as she walked back over to Will. "So, what did you have in mind?" she asked. Hand-to-hand combat she was good at, and combat with a staff, but when it came to other weapons - not so much.

OOC: Sorry it's a bit short

Will followed Honua through the halls, curiously examining his surroundings. Although all the hallways looked relatively similar, as he said before his exploration of the school had been fairly limited. He couldn't help but wonder where they would go, but decided to keep quiet, as he had talked quite a lot already.

Eventually, the two of them ended up in the gym. Fortunately, Will did recognize this place. He'd come from a different way, though.

Almost immediately, Honua started preparing. Will watched a she began to wrap her hands. He had only see a few people do that, some of which a had sparred with himself. It only made him anticipate the session more.

"Um... I guess we can do hand-to-hand combat," he said while stretching. "You can use some kind of weapon if you want, but I prefer not to. I don't like hurting people too much."

@Wolfie

Sorry about the late reply. Also, don't worry about short posts too much. I think it's kinda hard to do long posts in combat roleplay.

Once her hands wer fully wrapped, she stood with one leg slightly in front of the other, resting on the balls of her feet. In a fight, it was handy to stay on your toes, to be nimble. The way Honua was taught, it was less about throwing punches and more about dodging and exposing weaknesses. Though, that usually meant breaking a few bones which would be best avoided with Will.

She was glad he decided to not use weapons; Honua preferred hand-to-hand. Her hands were raised infront of her chest. "I'll try not to break anything," she joked, yet it may not have been obvious that she wasn't serious. She waited. Waited to see what her opponent would do first.

William watched as Honua got into position. She definitely seemed to know what she was doing, which Will was grateful for, but it also intimidated him a little. He had sparred with many people, and the stance she was taking was one he was all too familiar with. In his experiences, people that fought with that stance had been especially problematic.

"Yes, I would be grateful if you didn't break anything," he said, smiling. However, seconds later, another problem presented itself: Honua wasn't coming to him first. Will didn't have a specific stance of his own (at least not until his opponent got up close), so he often relied on his opponent to attack him first so he could gauge their fighting style and counter accordingly. It was obvious that she wasn't going to move until he did. Immediately, self-doubt began running through him, especially since it had been a long time since he had last sparred with someone, but he quickly pushed it down.

Assuming that his roommate was ready, Will formed fireballs on each of his hands. He waited a few more seconds before launching them each in Honua's direction at high speed. He continued his fireball barrage with his hands before using his feet to send fireballs as well. Of course, he didn't want her to get burned, but he assumed that she was quite capable based on how confident she had been.
