The fire flickered for a bit before Octain took it back in his hand. Slowly covering it with both his hands before opening his hands with sparks flying everywhere. Watching some of the fly into the air. The sight was always interesting to him as he just smiled.

"Some are are made for your interpretation. It's up to you to find what magic is to you. i can guide you but cannot force you." he said looking around for a moment, turning his head back to seeing the distant horizon. "Every day I come up with new theories on magic. Or expand on an old one. It is up to the read to understand my meanings in their own way. Or understand the various uses of magic should they ever see some runes on the ground or walls. It will allow those who understand the edge against all."

He said with a smile under his mask. Looking down at the school's courtyard as he gave some thought to her question. Trying to come up with an answer. "I think you should still be able to join my class. If not I shall put in a special recommendation. You seem bright. Nothing a bit of after class studies as well catching up on homework." He spoke as he came up with an answer. Though the mages in class had practicals. he needed to come up with someone for those with out magic. Those who couldn't cast the easy spells he would teach.

Possibly a small hunting trip.. That would work.. They would need to find something but make sure not to get trapped along the way.

He got it.

"If you are interested that is Adelene."

Adelene's attention was drawn into the sparks from Octain's hand probably a bit too much, but she can't help it. They were beautiful, and it wasn't an everyday sight to her, which made it all the more wonderful. "I wish I can do stuff like that..." she mumbled, unconsciously, and when she realized, she grinned at Octain sheepishly. She probably sounded so childish and weird. It was strange that Octain wasn't taking some steps back right now. Instead, he even told her some possibilities.

"I'm VERY interested!" Adelene wanted this more than anything now. The opportunity was laid out in front of her and she'd be very stupid not to take it.

She couldn't understand much of what Octain had just said, about theories and all that, but that's what she's going to find out if she somehow manages to get into his classes, right?

Why was Octain being so kind? She was a student he didn't even know before today. She wasn't supposed to be worth his attention but dammit she was so happy just being able to meet him like this.

"What am I supposed to do, sir?"

"You have your own powers Adelene. I am sure you can do things that would make me jealous." He said with a smile on his mask. A smile big enough that he closed his eyes. Showing the side of Octain that no one in the class sees. A man to look up to and Idolize. A man willing to help for almost anything for students or those interested.

She was interested good. Someone who enjoys theories as much as he does. Someone willing to learn. "Good. Willingness to attend is the first step Adelene." He said opening his eyes. His orange eyes moved toe Adelene. Covering his body in his cloak. He wasn't hot in it with the weather being the way it was. Octain was trying to help out a student as best as possible.

"I shall try to find out. By the time friday rolls around my classroom is on the third floor. Second door on the left. Hopefully by then I will do the paperwork for you to attend my classes." He said putting a hand on her shoulder. The rest of his body covered by shadows. "I shall start by catching you up when you are on my class list. I shall ensure that you are caught up to the class regardless of time constraints."

Anyone willing to listen to Octain, let alone talk to him and not find him intimidating as people made him out to be. Let alone be alone with him like they were. Though he felt helpful to someone. Like he was making a difference. Which he enjoyed doing more than anything. Even if it was someone else. Student, teacher anyone else.

"Thank you! Thank you so much, Mr. Octain!" Adelene sounded so full of life now, unlike a few moments ago when Octain was still not around and she had been thinking of jumping over the fence. That one had been a serious thought she had been considering. But at this moment, that may as well be good as forgotten.

She stepped away from the fence and walked a few feet, where it was more spacious and less risky for anything to fall. She didn't usually show off, and she wasn't going to show off now, at least she thought so. But she wanted to show Octain what she can do. Partly so he can take back his words if needed, and partly just to show it to him. She held out her right hand, when black crystal-like dust slowly danced around her arm and eventually took the solid form of a pure black hunting knife in her hand.

"I can do things like this."

And then she threw it into the air over her head. It became dust particles again and she caught it in her hands as a fancier and larger dagger. And then she twirled it in her hand, becoming a .45 calibre pistol. One more twirl, it turned into a revolver. She threw it over her head once more, letting it transform into an MP5, which she caught with still only one hand. And then she moved her other hand for a stronger support, as the gun lost form once more, and came back as an M82, a huge sniper rifle.

Such quick changing of weapons easily exhausted her in the past. Sometimes, to the point that she'd pass out in the middle of training, and since she trained in a hidden area near the lake, nobody would find her and she'd wake up hours later, sore and drained. But her trainings paid off. She still looked like she just jogged a mile, but she was standing just fine. The rifle dispersed into black dust, and seeped into her skin.

It took a couple more seconds for her to absorb how she just attempted to impress Octain. She stood on her spot, internally panicking. And the only clue visible was her slowly burning cheeks. "Um... I think I got a bit carried away... I'm sorry..."

"No need to thank me Adelene. You show a spark. A willingness." He said with a bright smile under his mask. His eyes opened as he used one of his spells to create an orb in his hand. Constantly shifting in elements. As he looked at her with his eyes as he watched the knife. Putting a hand on his spellbook as he realized he was in no danger as he made a mental note of all the things she could do.

"That is amazing.. I could sense magic with your dust. You have a gift Adelene. One that I would one day like to have join my ranks." he said.

Noticing she was tired he handed her an unopened water bottle.

"With some time and training with me.. You shall learn to use your powers like that. With out being tired. You have a great gift Adelene. Your life.. Those you use your powers to protect. That which you hold dear." He said. Showing her his own force as he levitated off the ground. His eyes almost began to glow. Chanting words in a tongue that seemed confusing as his hands turned red. Whips of fire out stretched as he spun them. Away from Adelene as he hit the ground. Small explosions that left scorch marks on the ground as the whips vanished. Swords of ice appearing after. Using a flurry before tossing them into the air as they vanished. Changing his fingers into looking like a gun as he snapped his fingers into the sky. Clouds parting as electricity streamed from his hands in a flash of light before he held his hand into the air.

"Come forth.. My faithful friend.." He said. A shadow LOOMED over The tower if Adelene looked up. It looked like a mountain was descending upon the area. Large enough to destroy the whole school.

Taking steps forward to Adelene. His eyes glued to her. As he stopped chanting.

"Do not fear Adelene.. I do not kill. Nor will I hurt you. You must trust me." He said calmly Showing very little fear. In fact. Octain seemed pleased. Content. Very shortly Octain's and Adelene's vision would be clouded. Feeling like their senses deprived for a moment before Octain clapped his hands. They were still on the tower. Perfectly fine. Except for a small rock on the ground that was crushed into a fine dust as he scooped it up. opening his hand as the dust went to the wind.

"Adelene." He said moving his head to her height and then placing his hands on her shoulders. Looking into her eyes. "As long as you live. Your powers are yours. You are a great person from what I gather. I would be honored to help hone you. You.. Remind me of a younger me."

Exhausted breaths filled their air, though they gradually toned down and faded. Adelene accepted the bottle, offering a small "Thank you, sir," and a smile in return.

She couldn't speak, not until she was done taking all the water from the bottle. It cooled and refreshed her burning chest, which had just done an extraneous job of keeping her conscious, keeping her supplied with air and blood as she had used so much energy just to show off. It was worth it though. Because it would seem like he just scored on the professor's good side.

...For a moment though, she actually had to take that confident thought back. The now-empty water bottle slipped from her right hand and fell to the ground, as she herself took a few steps back when Octain began to float. At first, she had no idea what was going to happen, but she realized that Octain was just showing some of his own tricks to her. Adelene relaxed upon that realization, although she still made sure to be cautious as fire spun out, small explosions rang, swords flew, lightning struck, and light shone.

Adelene was almost going to drop her guard completely when the huge shadow loomed over them. Of course she'd look up, to sate curiosity first of all. And then she was confused. No idea what that figure was and why Octain summoned it. She turned to the professor, and their eyes would meet and lock, just before her senses started to blur and... she was sure she was going to pass out but it didn't happen. Instead, everything went back to normal.

"Uh..." She eyed Octain once more. Confusion lingered, but she was calm and only curious. "Sir, that was... amazing. I didn't even know what I could've done if it were a threat."

She smiled. A soft and pink hue spread across her face upon hearing Octain's next words. She felt honored and happy and embarrassed. She shrugged lightheartedly, unable to react any other way. "Thank you, sir. It means a lot to hear you believe in me like that, even though--" she chuckled, "--even though this is your first time meeting me."

"Well. You are not a threat to me. You are a student and I do not harm students with out good reason or being left with no other option." he said looking up into the sky. Walking over to pack his things to get them ready to go. Plus he wasn't sitting down anymore it was a nice change of pace to let loose with his powers for once. Feeling the power coursing through him. The waves of energy felt.. Amazing to him once more as he relished in it. Loved it. Missed it. "The mountain harms ONLY my target. It keeps everything around it perfectly fine. Though it does take a lot of my energy... It is always worth while to use. He is my familiar as well as my trusted friend."

He said. Using a spell that summoned his familiar directly to him to attack. It was a mountain. A floating mountain that hurled into the ground like an asteroid.

"You can tell a lot about someone by their first meetings Adelene. The way they use their powers. The way the act, talk as well as move." He said looking at his hands. "I remember the times where my powers left me breathless. Even using one spell drained my energy. Leaving me vulnerable." He said. His arm creating a blue flame over it as he moved it around. The fire dancing with the wind as his hand moved about. "Now.. I have full control of my powers. My stamina is great. I am a Magistar after all." He stated.

Sighing lightly as he leaned up against the post. The fire disappearing as he closed his hand. "Adelene. It was a pleasure meeting you. Please, no need to call me sir. Octain works just fine. It is my name after all." Smiling under his mask. "Your company is always welcomed should you require some help with anything. My assistant and I will gladly grant you time." He then looked around the roof. No one else was here as he looked up into the sky.

"I am also a temporary guidance counselor." He said. Octain was a man of many masks as it were.

Get it.. Because he wears a mask and not hats.

Adelene staggered backwards. This familiar was a gift and scary mountain and she felt like she can't call down until it was gone. She had her nervous despite Octain's assurance that it was alright. One may take it as... a defense mechanism her body developed after all those years that her life has nodding constant threat.

The blue flame helped her calm down, for real this time. Her attention was drawn into it as it danced over Octain's hand, and eventually disappeared. Once it did, her crimson eyes went to his face-- er, mask-- and fixed on his own pair ad she further listened to his words. She chuckled sheepishly, lightly scratching her left cheek with a finger, feeling her face flush a little. "I can't not call you 'sir' at times... sir. It... It would very very disrespectful on my post. My tongue won't be able to help it. Well... I suppose 'Mr. Octain' is fine..." She was happy to know that the professor liked her company though. It meant a lot. "Don't worry, Mr. Octain. I won't hesitate to ask for help if I need it."

He shook his head. His Orange eyes, his whole mask thing always put on an intimidating gaze but.. It was to hide something. So he never had to look at himself. Not until he could wash the blood off his hands. "Please Adelene. Octain is just fine. Disrespectful or not. Though I am a teacher, my rank of Magistar places my higher than the rest of human or other mages.. My modestly wishes to live with people as equals. Students. Teachers. I am a friend before a teacher. Before my rank." He said as he smiled lightly under his mask. He was getting sick and tired of being called Mr. Octain. Octain wasn't his last name. It was his only name with the mask on. He had no other name. Not that he wanted to hear.

The wounds that were still healing. Still festering with guilt over the time he was on his own. Fooled into the love he now holds while still recovering. Feeling.. Like it was time to let you. "You will always have a friend in me. Maybe you may meet my daughter some day." He said with a bit of a chuckle.

"Yes.. Well General Mountain and I had met many years ago.. I was about.. 20-25ish... he was a powerful sentient mountain. It still is. I spent six months. Chasing it's secrets. Finding what made it tick. I do not take challenges lightly. We still have our arguments. Though we share a common goal. Unity. Duty. Destiny. The fate of all wizards, mages and warlocks may rest with in my dying years. Should I fail to achieve my goal.. Wish to hear about the long Six months?" He said. Sitting on the ground. Using his magic to create a small camp fire in front of him.

"I... Um... Octain." Adelene attempted to say his name without the formal addresses. And it was weird. Like thorns rubbing on her tongue before they crawled out of her lips. She wasn't used to calling staff members just by their name. But if Octain wished for this, she would try her best. "I can't promise you I can call you that way all the time. But I'll try at least... Octain."

She sat down when the mage did. Honestly, a campfire on broad daylight seemed weird, but it was adorable. Especially if it's there to create some campfire stories atmosphere. "I'd love to hear it," she said. She was all ears. She'd give him her ears anytime he asks her to, mostly because of her respect of him, and also because she really found him an interesting person.
