Octain had be discharged from the hospital and had been to work for a short period of time, having people to move things around for him due to some of the strenuous injuries he had. Though it was nice to be back to work as he took his lunch break to go up onto the Tower to sit down with a nice book. Taking up a lawn chair with him that was easy to fold and carry around as he placed it down. Close to the chain link fence that was around the area he was in. Though it wasn't like the courtyard. He admired the birds eye view that he had of the school grounds from there. As well as the view of the Forest.

Taking some time to sit in the chair and look out the fence he took a deep breath and released it as he opened up a novel. Slowly opening the new book where he could dive into a new world as if it was this one. Though recently. He could probably find a way to turn it into a movie of something as he began to read.

Just to enjoy some peace and quiet for once. Maybe. Though he wouldn't say no to company...

The roof was Adelene's place at noontime. She loved having picnics there before, so even while she was alone, she still went there to have her lunch sometimes.

Also, she's been curious, if it was really true that anything that fell or jumped from the roof would just be thrown back up. She wanted to try it. For some reason.

That idea went right into the dump when someone arrived, though. She flinched, but stayed on her spot under a shade as she observed the man. She compressed her crossed legs and closed her lunchbox. She put it back in her bag, before standing up and stretching her legs.

She recognized the person by the fence. She's never had a class under him but she's seen and heard enough about him to know. He was reading a book, how nice. Curiously, Adelene took her bag and walked towards him and just... watched. Books were very interesting.

"Nice to see you here, Mr. Octain."

Octain was reading a book by 'Tellios Vulcanis' called "The Dogma of Dragons'. It was an interesting book that Octain got a first copy of due to his assistance in the matter. Octain's eyes almost to into the book as he can imagine it all before he was taken out of the world by a voice that shattered his illusion. Looking up to the person who had spoke to him.

It was obviously a student as he slowly placed a bookmark in the page he was on. Placing the book on his own satchel as he stood up.

"Tis such a nice day out that some outside reading from my office would be nice. Or even lunch." He said as he looked at his backpack with prepared lunch from Lexi and Genesis. All home made for him. He looked at the girl once more as he couldn't recognize her on the spot. "Forgive me for asking, I have not seen you in my classes, yet you know my name. What would be your name?"

He said. Even though his orange eyes and his mask were as all intimidating as they say, his voice was calm and almost too soothing for his own good. The cloak's hood over his head to hide his hair.

"Would you care to join me for lunch? It is nice to see some new faces after being discharged from the hospital." He spoke. Looking out into the distance.

"The day sure is bright," was Adelene's reply, smiling at Octain despite the gesture not reaching her eyes. His mask had her curious, especially since he was talking about lunch and... Does he even remove it? The girl didn't realize she was staring until she was addressed with a question, and she snapped out just in time not to get caught, and then abruptly turned her head towards the view of the whole campus.

"Adelene Cross, sir. I'm not your student," she looked at him again. "But I've been staying here long enough to recognize a couple of faculty members I've never encountered in the classroom."

Octain looked scary with his mask and cloak but Adelene was unfazed; her words were calm, and so was the aura surrounding her. Although she wasn't exactly calm. It was more like... she was suddenly blank, indifferent.

She was smiling again, and this time, there was a faint hint of it in her eyes. "I just had lunch, sir. But I'll be glad to provide some company. This part of the school is kinda my hangout place at noon... And when I turn to this view," and so she did, "I can't help but wonder what it's like to... jump. A-And the view is really beautiful! The breeze is strong and refreshing!"

She cleared her throat and released a sheepish chuckle. She didn't say that 'jump' part on purpose, it just slipped, but hopefully Octain didn't notice. "Um... Sir, do you mind if I ask... Why were you in the hospital, what happened?" she asked, suddenly genuine curiosity and worry filling her voice.

"Indeed. The sun is a welcomed sight in my eyes. A radiant ball to show us all the beauty of nature." He said. Closing his eyes as he ran a thumb over his spell book. He was enjoying the time in sun that he wasn't allowed for since the winter. He wasn't allowed out at all as he then looked over at Adelene. Who looked like she snapped back to reality from.. Something.

Probably it was like everyone else. How Octain ate his lunch or drank from his tea cups he had placed all around the classrooms. It was rather simple really...

"Well, I imagine that I am the least forgettable." He said touching his mask with his finger. It was a prominent trait about him that.. Most people loved or hated. Some people hated his mask, others... Actually wanted more masks. He was debating on getting his class do make variations of his mask for the school fair for fun. "Though I am like that with some students who have crossed my path and have shared some tales, then parted."

Octain noticed that she was not phased by what tales of Octain. how most people feared him. Though. It wasn't that he wanted to be feared. It was just the mask. Maybe he would try taking it off sometime. See where that takes him though.. He felt like he needed it at this point. Felt.. Odd when it was off.

"Regardless company is nice in any situation." He said. Pulling out a small lunchbox with a note inside of it. From Lexi and Genesis as he smiled brightly under his mask. "Oh you two.." he said as folded the note and put it in a pocket. He adjusted his mask and ominously the shadow from the sun hid his fast as he took a bite from it. Chewing it slowly as he heard her talk again. Swallowing what he ate he talked again. "This is a nice spot to be during the day. All that is needed is a little lemonaid stand up here and it would perfect. I've jumped off here once or twice. Got flown back up here. This place is riddled with magic I could have only dreamed of. A wizards true paradise.." He said taking another a bite and chewing. Swallowing with a bit a grin.

"Adelene.. A man will do odd things for those he cherishes with in his heart. I.. During winter through a blizzard someone I care for got lost." he said. Though.. It wasn't entirely true as she was more or less doing it of her own free will and was leaving the school during hibernation due to how the lady was with the arcane. "I found her. Left my cloak. It can keep a person's temperature and body heat for a long period of time. When I was returning.. I had lost my way and found myself lost within the grasp of winter. Next thing I knew. I was in a hospital." He said confidently. Like it was the right thing to do. To him. No one could tell what he did was wrong. He helped someone who could have used the warmth more than he could have.

He slowly began eating his sandwich while his mouth wasn't busy talking. Trying to sate his hunger with the food given to him. it was really good. Just had some oddities he had never tasted before.

"Hm..." She really wanted to jump. But Octain was having his meal, and she didn't want to risk being the reason for him to choke on his food. Adelene pushed herself away from the fence, and decided to take a seat on the ground. Her eyes were still fixed on the view of the school though.

"Sharing some tales, huh?" She didn't have very interesting tales to share, but she did remember that she's shared lambanog with one teacher, and some sword lessons with another teacher. They weren't all fun times though.

She briefly turned her head towards Octain. Only then did she realize that he's moved his mask so he could eat, but she didn't dare to stare into the mask's shadow. She looked away again as she listened to his story. "I might have done something similar if I were in that situation," she replied, shrugging. "Though... I've never really tried, since I didn't know many people before."

"Indeed. Sharing tales is a great way to understand someone with out asking questions. Find out their hobbies, what they do for a living or in general what kind of a person they are." He said. he was still taking his time eating and found that.. Adelene was one of the only people who didn't stare at Octain while he was eating.

He had a smile on his face it was nice not having people looking at his face as he finished his sandwich and began to drink from a water bottle as he pulled it away from a sigh.

"Quite possibly. Though.. It depends on the person. Some would have just let them walk out. Others hunt and some worry. Either way. I do not with to drag down such a beautiful day." he said as he looked over at Adelene after adjusting his mask. "What courses are you taking?" He said curiously. Trying to make some small talk as he himself moved from the chair to fence. Seeing the school grounds before him. Of students rushing about from place to place with out a care in the world or in a rush.

"Physics and Ballistics, sir. Quite similar to Military Engineering I suppose." Now THAT was a topic Adelene would love to explore. It showed as her face brightened up, just as Octain had asked the question. Her eyes looked like they were sparkling when they turned to him once more.

She held onto the fence and pulled herself up so they were both standing. "I've been trying my best in my studies so I can improve on my powers. I can mentally computer projectiles now, and that helps with my control of my weapons."

She smiled at Octain briefly. "So as much as I wanted to enroll in your classes, I can't. I'm more of a... science person." She shrugged. "Mr. Octain, what's it like having magic?"

"I see. Explains a lot about yourself. You have a gift of being able to calculate your bullets. Which is a good power indeed. Should the need to utilize those archaic tools should arise." He said nodding after everything she said about her course and powers. Taking his hand to his chin. Trying to see if there was a way for him to create a gun that would shoot compressed magic in a form that would not kill, but stun and or knock out. Eventually snapping out of his own little world he looked at Adelene.

"Some say that Science is magic that can be understood. Created by mans hand." He said with a bit of smile. His eyes looking out into the distance. Trying to get a grasp how to explain the Adelene about magic. "
Well, all are welcomed into my class magical or not. The knowledge you gain is powerful. The more knowledge you have the more you will understand the world around you. Knowing your peers can help you understand what some of them go through. Many with magic can control their powers. Others cannot." He said turning his body to Adelene, holding his hand out and chanting for a moment before a fire appeared in his hand, which slowly turned into the Earth, slowly spinning in his hand.

"I cannot give you a clean definition of how it feels to have magic. For me, it is like a fire that burns on the inside of you. Keeping you warm and driving you towards your next goal. Knowing a higher power than you is always keeping you safe." He said placing his other hand over his heart. "A powerful surge of energy. Coursing through your veins at each cast of a spell. Much like adrenaline though.. More potent and less destructive to the human body."

He then move the small creation of the earth he had created. Moving his hand to push it towards Adelene for her to hold. "Magic is the earth. All of her beauty and those who dwell upon her. They are all bound to the ground we walk. The waters in which we swim. The path we all travel." He then smiled under his mask. His mask menacing though his eyes were calming. "Though some are with out magic.. Some are born into it. Some learn it. You are a child of the Arcane. As long as you breath." He said looking out at the area once more. "Everything you see here... Is a child of the Arcane's love and affection. Her gift unto us isn't the gift of being able to cast spells, transform. It's the life. The earth in which she has given us..." He stopped himself as he looked at Adelene. "Forgive me.. I tend to rant on about my theories." He said taking his hand over his heart to place it on his spell book. Though it was a piece of him, to many it was a tool. To him, it was his life and only companion in this game of life.

"Mm~" Adelene nodded. Science indeed was just another kind of magic, one humans can explain. Adelene didn't consider ALL of her power to be science, as a part of it cannot be explained by computations and calculations. She was born being able to summon weapons from thin air, which was magic in itself.

Spells and all those fancy things wizards do, that's what she meant by not being able to use magic. And well, hearing Octain say she doesn't need those to enroll in his class brightened up her day in an instant. She jumped and grinned so wide her cheeks seemed like they were going to rip, but she held that excitement in quickly and halted, covering her lips for a brief moment.

"I wish I knew that sooner! I'd love to enroll in that class," she said. She would leave out the part of having been idolozing Octain for a while now. She watched the fire in Octain's hand as it danced to the soft blow of the wind, and listened to the wonders of magic that he offered.

Her smile slightly faded to a curious look when Octain stopped. She shook her head. "It's okay, sir. I like listening to theories! But... I can't assure you that I'll understand them all the time. They're interesting!"

Yup. She was the type that loved discussions full of theories and other academic topics. But she doesn't have a friend that would chat with her about them. Lochlann was... She had no idea what they do. It's always random between them. Leon was the fun and athletic guy, Miya was someone she fangirls with...... Wow she didn't have too many friends. She shrugged.

"Is it too late to enroll in your class?"
