"I'm hella fine alright~"

Orion could not help himself, and let his chuckling continue even as Bell suggested an alternative to his offer. Looking over at little Oliver with a bemused smile, he had to admit that Bell had a valid point. She knew he was a scientifically-minded person, and bringing up a fallacy in the experimental group(i.e. the person testing the potions) would get his attention immediately. Her follow up, though, maybe him pout a little.

"Aww... But I like free stuff!"

Oliver was understandably nervous about the proposition. Not everyone was as blindly enthusiastic about thing as Orion, and certainly not when it came to ingesting unknown liquids with equally mysterious effects.

"Now don't you worry a bit, Missy."

Orion sauntered back to Oliver's side and patted her shoulders.

"Miss Bell can be tricky, but she would never give you something that would really hurt you. And if she did, she's got an antidote on hand. Probably.

Now lets get the potion party underway!

What are we tryin' first, Bell? Mild hallucinogen? Maybe a numbing agent?"

“Yeah, yeah. One of these days I’ll beat the money out of you, you cheat.” Not that she thought she would win against him in a fight – not without cheating, that was. But then, what was she a potion maker for?

Miss Breckenridge seemed awfully nervous about this whole affair. Bell was used to that sort of reaction, frankly, but she still scoffed. “I’m not tricky. What sort of awful nonsense are you feeding into her head? Heck, I’m hardly even charging nowadays, you oughta be giving me something for not even questioning your motives.” But she grinned again.

“Ooooh. You can definitely have a hallucinogen or two. Numbers… been fiddling with those. An old friend got me a cockatrice head the other day, but uh, I had to carry her away to be unpetrified. Let me see if I have anything safer… ooh. This should be paralysis. Temporary. Ahahaha.” She tossed the bottle, full of some sort of unidentifiable fluid, to Miss Breckenridge.

<div align=center>The more he contemplated everything the more he realized just how much of a bad idea this might be. What if he wound up dead? Or worse? His hands clenched on the hem of his dress, curling around the white petticoat underneath. Orion at least was helping in reassuring him and seemed to be more innocent on the situation than he was. Then again, that wasn't saying much for the child was an anxious mess. At least he could try to trust the elders around him with their word that they had no direct intentions on harming him. But an accident was an accident and he had to throw caution to the wind and hope nothing of the sort would occur.

Catching the potion bottle he smiled sheepishly to the two's teasing. In a weird sort of way the potion maker was looking out for best interests and was a decent person... Hopefully that would prove to be true. Oliver did visibly shutter with the thought of the paralysis potion. At least it wouldn't make him hallucinate. Yet. ”How temporary do you mean miss...?” Because he could be frozen for a minute or a year. Both would be anti productive to their cause. Getting back to the bottle he observed it, swishing the contents around before opening it. An almost feminine 'eep!' came from him as he nearly gagged on the fumes within. ”Oh my...” Yeah, was this safe for human consumption? At the very least it wasn't that cockatrice head she mentioned... Lord, the boy probably would walk again if he tried that. Or breathe. Either one.

With a calculative eye and a hesitant look he shrugged. ”Here goes nothing.” Along with that came the sudden chug of the liquid, taking in a big gulp but nothing much more than that. Of course, it only took a matter of a few seconds for the suspicious fluid to take a toll on the poor kid, thus causing him to jolt and freeze in place, muscles tense and face expressionless. Unable to shift positions to balance himself the stiff-as-a-board kid fell forwards, crashing face first into the floor uselessly. A single grumbled 'ow' came from him, the paralyzed kid unable to get himself back up or even flush with embarrassment. Well, it certainly worked. That was good. </div>

"I'll pay you back somehow. Just give me a little bit."

Orion stayed close to Oliver, trying to be more supportive of the young girl. With all the banter between himself and Bell, it was easy to forget that Oliver lacked the familiarity to be comfortable with the potion-shopping situation. Plus, not everyone had the blind enthusiasm that Orion possessed, allowing him to happily throw himself into questionable situations with unknown consequences.

He almost caught the bottle before Oliver did, simply out of reflex to trying potions himself. Fortunately, Oliver was quick on the draw. Drawing away a single step, Orion gave the girl some breathing room to ingest the concoction.

"No fear, Miss Breckenridge!"

Orion gave her some applause for following through with the trial. However, it made him slow to react to Oliver freezing up and going face first into the ground. A little panicked, Orion quickly went for Oliver and picked her back up, letting her lean in his arms as he brushed off her face and checked her nose.

"Woah. You alright there? It works, but I think it might be a tad strong."

“You better!” There was something serious in Orion’s tone, though, and she kept it in mind.

Miss Breckenridge seemed confused about all this, but Bell only laughed it off. “How temporary? I dunno. Like, an hour at most, right? Probably less… and I can probably fix you up somehow or other.” Despite how weak her words were, she really was confident in her abilities.

So she was completely unconcerned as Miss Breckenridge went stock still and then fell over like a piece of plywood. At least he could still grumble, right? She immediately started searching through the shelves again.

“Looks like we’re going to need some diluting if we use this... Actually, the dose was probably far too large, as well. Or, actually, this might… work out?”

“How about we just sit here until it wears off, to see if it’s a good amount of time?”

<div align=center>When his stuff body was picked up, it was fortunate enough to see that he was neither completely broken not frozen. He could at least look around and talk through his teeth. Or try to. He mumbled a 'thank you' to Orion for not letting him stay on the ground. If his system wasn't petrified he probably would have a nosebleed right now. But luckily that wasn't the case. He looked between the two as they debated what to do, the potion crafter not exactly giving him comforting thoughts. Was he going to be okay soon? That remained to be seen. He simply leaned against the counter as she debated, mind perking up as she suggested using this potion... Well, it would work.

But waiting it out to see if it was proper? Now that was something he didn't quite agree with. A mumble of some sort of complaint wasn't really able to be heard, though most likely originated from how he wasn't willing to wait around like this. Fortunately that wouldn't be the case as he felt his fingers twitch before his muscles began to loosen. Within a few seconds he snapped back into life almost literally. He rolled his shoulders to ease out the stiffness, a small grimace held on his face as he now felt slightly sore. ”Well, I was paralyzed alright... Didn't seem to work all that long though, maybe a bigger dosage would be needed...” Not like he wanted to try or anything! He looked frantically back at them with a sheepish smile to hold back the tensity he felt about another attempt. ”Do you think that would work or should we try something different? I'm... Willing to try another potion, if the Miss is willing for us to do so.” Yea, free samples were a bit much to ask for, but in a certain sense he felt these sorts of things weren't really without a price. Man, he probably wouldn't feel right in days... But whatever. It was all for a good cause. Maybe. </div>

Orion was kind enough to remain crouched on the ground for the sake of supporting Oliver until the potion wore off. Even when it did, and Oliver seemed capable of moving his extremeities to some extent, Orion remained knelt, offering his knee for Oliver to sit on until he felt good enough to stand on his own power.

"Don't force yourself. You might pull something."

He brushed off Oliver's shoulders and front while they brainstormed more ideas for possible potions for the princess plot.

"I don't know how dosages work with his stuff, but maybe it should be considered that these kids will be carrying this stuff until they're 'defeated'. So it shouldn't be too much to lug around and... just out of caution, not enough for them to sneak away with some for other reasons."

It would be a tad distressing to have the kids running around with a leftover vial of paralyzing potion that they could use wherever and however. Orion did not think a lot of the kids participating would do anything bad, and may even return it, but he wanted to err on the side of caution.

"Well, if the Little Miss here is willing to keep experimenting, I say we do it. Maybe try a different effect?"

“Huh. Should have been worse than that.” Bell wrinkled her nose at the young lady with a surprising resistance to paralyzing agents. It was meant for humans, she supposed, and none of the students here were ordinary humans. Still, it was going to make things very difficult. She’d used this on herself at some point, and it hadn’t hit half as hard, but it’d lasted four times as long…

She only shrugged at Orion’s concerns. “Well, it should be fine, right? You’re all crazy, y’know. I mean, this can’t be the worst thing you guys’ve got down your sleeves anyways, and it works. That’s probably a luxury.” She took the bottle from before and gave it a look over before setting it on the table.

“Mm. I got piles of stuff. I can give you a little bit of everything, but y’know the charges are going to going to rack up after a while. You’ve been really vague about your requests, though! I mean, I got mild explosives?”

<div align=center>While Oliver was lucky to not be permanently paralyzed he didn't want to gamble again. There was a considerable amount of tightness in his legs still, though this eased out over time as he stretched a bit. ”I'm fine. Thank you.” The boy asserted politely with a simple smile, appreciative for Orion's offer of help and concern. His attention soon turned to the point he made and he himself saw it valid. Some of the kids here were trouble makers. What would they do with physically and mentally altering potions? That certainly sounded like a recipe for disaster. But of course the maker herself didn't seem to mind all that much, which, combined with her nonchalant response to Oli's paralysis, worried the young boy. Especially when she mentioned explosives.

”E-explosives? Oh my um...” That didn't sound like a good idea. Especially if he was the one trying that out. His fingers began to run through that wig of his as he tried to figure out what to do. ”As long as it doesn't hurt anybody really badly I suppose that's not an issue...” Just then, an idea popped in his head. ”What about a tranquilizer? Do you have one of those?” A sleeping potion wouldn't be too much to ask for, right? He looked to Orion before looking back to her, dipping his head a bit out of respect. ”I'll pay for the loss of inventory ma'am. Terribly sorry we're taking a lot.” At least she probably got a kick out of a presumable female trying out potions that affected her both drastically and comically.</div>

Orion shot Bell a very incredulous look as he helped Oliver to her feet.

"Explosives? Really, hon? You planning on feeding these kids explosives?"

He was well aware that Bell was not being serious in her suggestion. But Bell had such a deadpan tone that it seemed that Oliver was taking her quite seriously. Orion's own tone was there to reassure and stand by Oliver. Though if Bell could figure out a way to incorporate explosive effects into the potions without somehow killing the kids in the goriest fashion imaginable, he would be inclined to see how it worked. Maybe they wouldn't blow up so much as poof like a ninja?

Oliver reiterated the main point: The potion should not hurt anybody, either the user or anyone else around them, when used. Her suggestion of a tranquilizer was the most sensible, but also the most boring.

"Oh! Do you have, um, uh, a teleportation or relocation potion? Maybe the kids poof back to home base when 'killed'!"

And Oliver already seemingly had a one-up on Orion in that she could pay back the potions, somehow.
