A low, growling sigh escaped Thresher as he came upon another half eaten deer carcass. Hunting small game didn't usually cause enough problems to be regulated, but once someone started bringing down the larger animals in the woods things started getting complicated. He had been brought in to regulate the large game hunting of the citizens and students, and this was what he had come in to, poachers.

All of the corpses so far had been found to late to follow the scent trail, as the decomposition masked over it. This one though, this one was fresh. Kneeling down, Thresher sniffed deeply at the air, drawing the scent of the most recent beast to partake of this prey. At least, that's what it should be.

The scent was strong, so the poacher shouldn't be too far off. Thresher sniffed again, and growled. It was the scent of another wolf, he didn't want to deal with a pouching wolf right now. Sighing, he hefted the carcass over his shoulder and began stepping in the direction of the scent, quickly and lightly.

He eventually caught up with the source of the scent, a female resting in a glade near a river. Crossing the the brush slowly, he dropped the half-eaten deer in front of her, his lips pulling back in a snarl as he stared her down. "You wanna tell me why you didn't finish eating this?"

Willow opened her eyes as she heard the carcass being dropped, having now finally found herself in a moment of peace and quiet.. Only to have it interrupted by Thresher. Yawning widely she got up onto all four of her paws and look up to the male invading her personal space. Not that it mattered, he came with a reason other than him invading her personal space.

'I only hunt small game! I wouldn't dare kill something that big that wasnt meant for a pack meal! Dont accuse me of that!'

A soft growl escapes her lips at the simple thought of wasting such a good section of deer.. Giving it a small wiff, she could see that it was still good.. Not the freshest thing in the world but it was still not something that she would pass up. Though upon smelling it further she lets out a small snort. It smelled like a wolf alright... Just not one that she recognized.

Thresher snarled a little at her, and began sniffing at her again. Before long he shifted through his werewolf form until he was fully a wolf as he continued to judge her scent. He let out the wolf equivalent of a swear when he realized she was right, the scent trail just happened to die here where she was, 'They must have washed it off in the river...'

He walked passed her and just flopped down, a heavy breath escaping him. 'Another dead trail...' He let out a small growl as he just lay there in frustration.

'Or perhaps they began stalking it at the river. There are many possibilities.'

Once he flopped down she began tearing into the large creature, eating full heartedly from the carcass. Having not eaten the majority of the day or even at all for a long period of time for that matter Willow was famished. Also, given that he simply dropped it and laid down if he wasn't going to defend the semi fresh kill then it was more than free game.

If she wasn't stopped she would eat until she was full and then she would circle back around to Thresher and nose his ear gently getting a good smell for his scent. Finding it rather pleasing compared to the younger male that she encountered not days before. Exhaling softly she sat nearby him and stared at him curiously.

'You are the second werewolf that I have seen in the last two days, Look at my luck. Thank you for the meal.. While I know you are looking for whomever had left it half eaten I know the importance of not wasting. Something this size could a pack of five easily.'

Thresher's only response to her suggestion is a grunt. He had been fairly sure that he'd been following the strong end of the trail, but he had been in his human form, and if the kill had happened fast enough it might have caused a duality in the trail. He didn't stop her from eating, as the part of the problem lay in the waste of the meat. He just lay there, thinking, trying to piece together everything that had occurred for any common locations or details.

His ear twitched as she nosed it, and his one good eye followed her as she paced around him, keeping careful track of her without really showing aggression. Yet. You're welcome to it. Not like it's going to get eaten all the way out here anyway. The least I can do is have the beast get fully eaten. He stretched out and sat up again, sniffing her again, getting the details he'd ignored before. Aren't you a strange one, I'd expect most wolves I found here would arrive paired already.

'No, I am alone. I have been alone for three years. Until that is that the crate I was in washed up upon the shore here.'

Sitting she scratched behind her ear a little bit before she continued to sniff at Thresher. Willow could also tell that he himself was also alone and deep down, she rather liked it. It was confirming that she was able to be a candidate for him. A brief shake of her head cleared her thoughts of such a silly notion. Willow needed no mate. She was strong and independent.

Though, one brief moment she allowed her mind to trail. She would like a pack, pups, a mate. These were things that the part of her that was a wolf urged her to do.. To say.. It and she were tired of being alone.

'Tell me your name.

It was not quite the thing she wanted to ask him, but it was a start. The next question she would have for him though swiftly fell from her without her thinking on it.

'I am forming a pack, given the so few were's I have found.. Would you be interested in this?'

Thresher huffed a little. You should go talk to the people in the school if you haven't already. Be best that you don't get caught otherwise. I might have to hunt you down if you don't.

He continued to examine her from his spot on the ground, responding simply with Thresher when she inquired about his name. When she suggested a pack though, his eye set onto her. He stood to his feet and paced around her a few times, sniffing at her and trying to piece together her day from the scents on her. He met her eyes each circle only just short enough to not be a challenge.

After a moment he felt satisfied, and his demeanor returned to the less hostile as he backed up again, standing there looking at her. It's been a long time since I was in a pack.

'Pack or a pair. I want to be with my kind again and let it be that. I dont think I need to register since I am more animal than human.'

The entire time that Thresher circled Willow her body remained lax and calm. It was as she didn't register him as a threat to her in the slightest. Or, if she did there was little to show this. Once Thresher returns to his place sitting willow padded forward and took another wiff of his scent.. That is until she leaned forward and touched her nose ever so gently to his.

It was an action that was meant to be sweet and semi endearing. Of course, as per normal Willow was a little confused and she was more than confused as to what drove her to do such a thing.

'So your looking for a mate then? I guess the season is approaching.' He squinted a little as she completely ignored him as a threat, obviously offended like anyone would be at the slight, but he didn't act on it for now. Confidence was an admirable trait, he supposed.

He allowed her the gesture, though didn't really react to it. He hadn't made up his mind about her yet, so he didn't snap at her or return the gesture short of liking at the spot she had nudged.

'To be an animal is to be hunted, do not be so prideful as to be reckless. If you're to live in my forest, fine, but you'll have your share of trouble without others given reign to hunt you.'

Willow nodded at Threshers words. To hunt, to be hunted. She was familiar with the laws of the wild it allowed her to survive this long. All the while she thought of what Thresher said to her.. If she wanted a mate that the season was coming for it... Those words she mulled over until finally it clicked within her mind. He asked her if she wanted to be his mate..

The human part of her mind blushed and wanted to get to know him more than that before that is she committed to such a thing. But the wolf part of her wanted to jump in head and paw first and take him as a mate head on. If he wanted her as a mate and if he was not going to leave her side as the others had before her then she would indeed take him fully on.

'If you are willing to take me as your mate then I would accept. You appear strong and a capable provider.'
