"You're gonna get killed at one point, I swear."

Aw man, this guy was great! He needed to get his phone number or something, he needed this kind of deadpan seriousness in his life on a more permanent basis. Not even from a 'man i would totally make out with you if you asked' kind of way (though, yeah, he would totally make out with him if he asked)--Envy was like. Genuinely interesting in the kind of way that if they were to roll around in the hay a little, the best part of it all might be what he says after.

"I mean, I'm flame resistant though, so it's not like the fire hurts me in the first place."

How fun. It had been a while since he could genuinely say that someone interested him on an intelligent level. Not that the other people he'd found attractive weren't intelligent, but Envy was just so...

Viscerally interesting.

He supposed he could understand how having to explain that your a shapeshifter with everyone you meet could be annoying. It's like walking up to someone and being like 'hello im envy im a shapeshifter and sometimes im a girl'.

Yeah, that could be annoying.

"Are you not a demon? I just kinda thought... with the horns and the eyes...?"

"Does that mean I can set you on fire?" Envy asked without a second thought. Resistant? That's what his watch said about water but it broke after he dropped it in the sink.

"I'm no pyromaniac or anything. It's just... I ended up having a habit of testing 'resistant' things. Scratch resistant, crack resistant, water resistant. It gets pretty boring when you're cooped up indoors for too long." Envy didn't see the point of explaining it to the drow but he felt like saying it. There wasn't really anything wrong about that.

He'd love to try burning a person though but he worried about... consequences. Murder wasn't a thing he'd like to try yet.

'Are you not a demon?'

"I don't know. I probably am." Envy replied. His tail swung side to side, "My mother told me I was really a demon's child so I might as well be? But my mom's human so there's the half and half thing going on. Probably why my shape-shifting is all messed up."

"Yep. I'm more or less everything-proof," Sid explained, smiling at Envy. It was interesting, to say the least. It seemed like aside from that blushing episode he tended to be more or less straight-faced with everything he did and said. He wondered if he would really try to set him on fire or drown him

Would he regret telling him that? He hoped that he wouldn't take up in his bed to Envy standing over him with a book of matches and a small jug of gasoline. How frightening.

The drow nodded when he explained that he was probably half demon, and that his demon blood probably had something to do with his inability to properly shapeshift. He figured, then, that his fathat was a demon who could do a lot of shapeshifting. That explained his appearance if nothing else.

But still.

His thoughts kept going back to what he planned to do with the knowledge that Sid was everything-proof.

"Do you want to test my flame resistance?"

Everything-proof?

Envy's eyes widened ever so slightly. An opportunity, he thought. He could finally try setting someone on fire without the consequences. It was no personal matter. He had nothing against the drow. Mz'sid was an interesting fellow and Envy had no bad feelings towards him.

But he was one guy he could try burning alive. And that was only one of the possibilities. Maybe he catch him off guard some time and throw him into the ocean with a rock tied to his leg. Or push him off this very tower — if he was everything-proof, maybe that included gravity and the concrete.

And Mz' sid was literally offering himself for Envy's odd curiosity.

"Does that mean I can really set you on fire?"

"Does that mean I can really set you on fire?"

Uhhh...?

Sid actually didn't know how to respond to that. Should he agree to let the half-demon set him on fire or should he actually listen to his self-preservation instincts that were blaring in the back of his head like sirens, warning him for the first time in a long time that no, dude, this could actually be dangerous to your health.

But at the same time, it was just burning. His skin could resist burning pretty easily. It's not like it would mess up anything. Well, it could potentially heat up his piercings and that could be a problem. But that was unlikely, all things considered.

And well, he was feeling generous.

Plus it could be fun to be set on fire.

"Go ahead. Burn away."

"Burn away."

Envy gasped soundlessly, eyes wide with anticipation. Did Mz'sid really just agree to be set on fire? It looks like he was sure about being immune to fire. Envy wanted to test that right now but he had a few things he needed.

"I only have matches on me. That's not gonna be enough to set anyone your size on fire." Envy bit at his thumbnail. This was a problem. If he had gasoline, that would be the best thing possible. Or anything flammable. Envy clapped his hands together when the idea popped into his head.

"Do you happen to have anything we can burn? Paper? Oil? Alcohol?" Why would anyone carry around alcohol? The more pressing question was that why on earth was Envy even carrying matchsticks.

All of a sudden everything about this seemed like a bad idea. But he had offered, and Sid was nothing if not a Drow of his word. He would offer himself up to the apparently pyromaniacal half demon if that would sate his curiosity.

"Why do you have matches on you?" Sid asked as his hands slid into his pockets. He didn't find anything flammable, so he reached into his bag. Normally he carried a little something-something to get him through the day, and he was pretty sure he hadn't put the beautiful little strumpet to use yet, so it should still be kicking around in his bag, just waiting for its chance.

Aha!

From his bag, Sid pulled a fist-sized bottle of vodka. Sometimes you just needed a little drinky at 10:15 AM to get you through till lunch.

He tossed it to Envy.

"Would this help?"

Why do you have matches on you?

Envy had no proper answer to that question. "Just in case." Just in case he wanted to set a bush on fire. Or a pile of leaves. Or maybe just set up a campfire. Envy wasn't particularly sure why he actually needed it. He fell silent, gaze straight forward and blank, as his thoughts lingered on an answer he couldn't ever think of.

Envy almost didn't have time to process the bottle thrown into his direction and almost, just almost, let it slip on the floor. He muttered a quiet apology for almost dropping it. He took another few seconds to check the bottle. Vodka? Good enough. Envy grinned a little, his eyes glimmering.

"Perfect." he breathed, looking around. They were in a building at the moment and there was a possibility of setting the entire tower on fire. Envy remembered he had spotted an extinguisher nearby on his way and that was enough for him to say he could make an escape if the fire gets too big.

Envy stepped closer to Mz'sid, casually taking his hand and placing the bottle there, "Just pour this over your head; I'll handle the rest."

Just in case is a pretty weak reason to carry around matches, Sid wanted to say. He stopped himself mostly because 'just because' was his reasoning for carrying around a few shot glasses worth of vodka around, and when he spent a good amount of his day working with potentially dangerous chemicals he supposed that he was the one in the wrong in that situation.

He watched Envy as he seemed to get really into this. Sid followed the half demon's line of sight to the fire extinguisher. Oh right. If they do this poorly then the whole tower could go up in flames and he knew, he just knew that the administration would have more than a few choice words about that. They would need to be careful.

Still, the drow took the bottle from the demon and opened it easily. He took a swig from the bottle for himself and then poured the rest on himself, wetting his head and torso. The alcohol dripped down from there until the smell seemed to permeate his being.

Sid smirked.

"Okay. Fire away."

Envy just stared at Mz'sid as he took a gulp from the vodka before pouring it over him. He wasn't too impressed but somehow he was still distracted just by looking at the drow. For a second Envy almost forgot he was supposed to get his matches out already. "Still would have been better if we had gasoline," he said, voice in monotone as he pulled out a small box of matches from his pocket.

Shaking the box just a little, Envy pulled out a few of sticks and casually slipped a few between Mz'sid's lips, "You'll catch fire better if we start here," Just as the he said that, Envy pulled out more sticks and struck them alight. "Now burn," he whispered, lighting the matches on Mz'sid's mouth. He took a few steps back after tossing more lighted matches at the drow, watching as the alcohol made it look like he was already catching fire.

Envy just stood there looking at the flames as it slowly spread, a little disappointed that she was expecting him to combust the moment he lit the match. It didn't occur to him yet that that should be the least of his concerns now.
