This was a mistake. This had to be a mistake. What was he thinking? This was such a bad idea.
Or at least that was what Eve thought he should've been thinking as he was nervously fidgeting with his paint brushes, not actually concentrating on painting at all. Instead he was..excited, happy, looking forward to it.
Eve had invited Jake over to look at his workshop and maybe do something afterwards, and Eve was confused over why he had offered to show Jake his workshop. Couldn't they have just jumped to the "something afterwards" right away?
Eve sighed slightly and set down his brushes and paints. Being attracted to someone was much more mentally tiring than Eve remembered. Although it still brought him just as much joy.
To an outsider, despite his inner turmoil, Eve could've looked like the embodiment of serenity as he stood upon his easel, looking right through the scenery painting he was supposed to be finishing. It was a painting of a shady forest path on a hot, sunny summer's day right after rain. Eve has captured the glistening trunks of the trees and how the water pooled at the center of the path, and how the sunlight shining through the leaves caught some of the glimmer of the water drops falling from the foliage. In the distance the path opened to a cliff facing the sea, and the retreating rain clouds could be seen over the horizon. Even Eve was proud of this painting. Which was why he put his tools to the side and took off his apron, deciding he didn't want to risk ruining a good piece of art because of his nerves.
Eve checked the time and pulled a black and white scarf from his pocket, tying his hair out of his face with it. Eve's hair had grown a lot lately and he had the habit of pulling it back. If he didn't Eve could've easily been mistaken as a woman if his body wasn't so obviously male.
Eve was wearing nearly all black clothes again today, and a normal person capable of feeling heat and sweating would've been wheezing just looking at Eve. He had a black shirt with wide neckline and sleeves that reached his forearms. Currently Eve had rolled his sleeves up, and his forearms had small paint stains on them. He was wearing dark grey tight sweat pants that stopped right under his burn scars. Eve wasn't wearing any shoes, and the crocs he had worn while coming here were neatly set beside the door. He was feeling normal, but if the temperature was even a little higher even Eve would've felt it slightly.
Eve, tired of standing and fidgeting, head to the door so he could wait Jake outside the door just as he had promised him. But as Eve turned the handle and opened the door towards himself he was greeted by the sight of Jake standing right outside the door. Eve, very surprised and not prepared for this, let out a small yelp and basically jumped couple of steps back, his usually quite expressionless face showcasing shock.
"Jake! Oh my goodness, you scared me."
