"So, you have foster parents?' Shay asked for clarification. "I just stay in the orphanage, no foster families for me. Probably for the best." Shay looked down, bent, and picked up a semi-flat sone. She ran her thumb over one side.
"Oh, i'm sorry ma'am.." He looked down waiting a bit..." So! Whatchya' wanna do now?!" He looked back up excited once again he was trying to push aside their mutual problems. "Anything?!"
"What do you normally do?" Shay asked. She imagined he was the type to play childish games if his way of speaking was any indication. He probably wouldn't like doing the things she normally did and she wasn't feeling rude enough to snub him when he had been so friendly to her.
"Well other then what I said before I love talking! I like playing simon says! And, hide and seek is fun too! I'm a really good hider! But my favorite things are dress up, and like I said before talking is the bestest! What about you?!"
Shay held up a respective finger to each thing she ticked off her mental list. "Running, reading, writing, people watching, and learning." She paused a second, considering him. "I've never played dress up before."
"Really?! It's super fun! you dress up in pretty clothes and you and whoever you play with get to see how you look in it! And sometimes you trade and ooooooo~ you need to try it sometime!" He pumped his hands up and down in excitement.
"Sounds like it would involve a lot of touching," Shay muttered more to herself than him. "Besides, I don't know much about fashion."
"Oh, Foowy... I guess it's okay if you don't like dress up! Not everyone does!" He began to swing from side to side playing with his body like a typical bored child, "so! What thingy do you like that we can do for fun?!"
Eroshay considered what they might do together that they would both enjoy. She couldn't think of anything in that category. "We could...read?" Other children didn't like reading, did they?
"Okay sure thing!" He blushed slightly and coughed "Well, I'm not exactly the best at reading but if you helped me or read to me I can do it just fine!" He chuckled nervously, he knew he wasn't as educated as most kids his age, he didn't get nearly as much schooling.
