As his only reaction was amazement, the innocent look was replaced by one that could almost be described as chagrined. She moved the water back to the lake and allowed it to drop back in. "Yeah.. Thanks... Where I'm from, it's necessary for survival." as soon as she said it, she regretted it, and she shut her mouth, nibbling on her lip, hoping that Trephas wouldn't catch the slip. "Um.." her mind raced for something to take his mind off of what she just said, panic flashing through her eyes for a second.

And then relief as she thought up a topic change. "So you said you'd just gotten your powers a few weeks ago was it?" she asked, truly curious. Most people she'd ever met had had their powers since they were preteens, and a few, before that.

He watched the water go back to the water, and when Lex spoke again about something about survival, and when he looked up at her, curiousity seemed to flash in his eyes, but then he saw her reaction like she had regretted something, and she had quickly changed the subject about his powers, so he merely kept thinking abut it, but he didn't say anything about the survival thing the girl said. Well whatever it is she doesn't want anyone to know, he thought, better not go near Eben, he'll find out, but then he won't speak about after feeling the pain that was in your past.

"Yeah I got my powers two weeks ago, I was doing homework and my pencils just started floating and other little things on my desk also started to float, it freaked me out a bit, but when my Dad barged in the things dropped, and then I was sent here, though I stayed at home for another week." He answered Lex.

Lex nodded, aware that her comment had indeed spiked interest, but he'd been considerate enough to take the change of subject. She was feeling a little bit speachless right now, like she's lost her normally cheerful and random groove, and she shifted a little bit. Deciding that she couldn't sit still any longer she stood up, offering a hand to Trephas to aid him up. More in a gesture of friendship that with the belief that he couldn't do it alone.

"Um.." her voice was quiet, and she mentally berated herself. come on Lex, get yourself together. "I'm pretty much all out of random conversation starters.. You?" she asked, hoping to high heaven that he would. She didn't like being without friends, and so far he was the only person that she'd run into since she came here. Not nessarily a bad thing after 'running into' so many people at her old school. come on Lex, this isn't you're old school. The people are different here. Chill.

He watched her get up then took her hand when she had offered it to him, and he pulled himself up, and stood tall again like he normally does. As he had got up hair had fallen into his eyes and he moved his short hair back with his hand, then his eyes went over Lex's face, as if he knew something was wrong, she didn't seem happy right now, but he shrugged when she talked again, and he diecided to answer her.

"Well let's see... How about music? What type of music do you like?" He asked, hoping he wasn't the one who had gotten her in a none happy like mood.
