His hand on her shoulder helped. Not something she'd freely admit, but still. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all. At least, these people didn't have the same problems as the ones at her old school.

Subconciously, she rubbed her thumb across an x shaped scar on the top of her hand. She'd scared everybody the day she got that. Deciding on lighter topics, Lex dropped to the ground suddenly, pulling her legs up so that she was sitting crosslegged, and she cocked her head, looking sideways up at Trephas, squinting slightly in the brightening light of the day. "So tell me Trephas, If given the choice, would you rather eat fries and ketchup, fries and mayonaise, plain fries, fries with vinegar, or some other frie concotion?" She made the entire statement straight faced, as though she was interviewing him on a very important subject, before breaking into a small grin. Trust Lex to say the most random of things.

Trephas stared at her scar for a little while, never seeing like it, but he merely shrugged slightly then when Lex sat down he also did, hoping to talk more, and when she asked the question he laughed for a bit, thinking that it was a funny question. He really enjoy being around this girl, and really enjoyed it because she was nice, and kind as to what he thought.

"Well let's see..." He said thinking. " I will have to choose fries with vinegar." He said seeming very cheery. "What about you, Lex" He asked, staring at Lex, eyes scanning her face, as if trying to see something about her, though his eyes never changed it's boring expression, the only why you could tell was his features on his face that seemed to be intent on something.

Lex grinned cheerfully. Fries was a safe topic, and it actually did give her some insight onto his character. "Well, to be honest, I absolutely love Fries with Mayonaise, but it has to be a really specific kind to taste good. Other wise, blegh." she made a face to emphasize her point. "But, if fries and mayo isn't an option somewhere, I always opt for fries with vinegar." She leaned back slightly so that she was propped on her hands, and glanced at Trephas sideways.

He definately was intriguing. With eyes that never changed, it was harder to decide what he was thinking, but as her eyes flicked over his face, as well as reading his body language, she couldn't help but smile. He was as much interested in her as she was in him. "What about fast food restaurants? What's your favourite?" she cocked her head again, hair showering to the other side, revealing a thin white scar across her ear. That one was a little bit hard of hearing sometimes, but she'd never admit it.

He slightly smiled. She seemed interesting to him, anyway. "I'm not a very good fan of Mayonaise, I don't think it taste that great, though at times I will have it with fish sticks." He said and for a minute he seemed to be in deep thought but then returned to his normal self, and a smile returned to his face. And soon she had asked what his favorite fast food restaurants were, and that made him think a bit.

"Hmm... well, I never really go to fast food restaurants much, only with my much older brother... me and him will go and hang out at friends house's and while there we usually get Taco Bell, and McDonald's, but that is very rare, other then that, I have never had any other fast food, so I really don't have a favorite." He returned his answer, knowing he had said a lot, but it sometimes what he does.

Lex grinned and laughed. "Yeah. I don't usually go to fast food either. It's a little too greasy for my tastes. I prefer to cook." She shrugged again. "But yeah, going on price, Micky D's a pretty cheap place, so I guess it'd be my favourite."

For some reason, she was really warming up to this guy. As random as she was, she figured that giving him a random hug just because would be awkward, so instead, she shifted her position. She felt cozy here. Welcomed, for once in her life, and her eyes, always mirrors to her soul, betrayed her inability to process somebody truly being nice, and caring back to her. She cleared her throat, closing her eyes, since she knew they were good at betraying.

She opened her eyes, having collected herself once more, and glanced cheerfully at Trephas. "Ok. Your turn. What do you want to know? My life is an open book." she spread her arms wide to emphasize her point.

He smiled. "Fast food restaurants are sometimes cheap, and like you said, it is too greasy, and I do prefer homemade food, my Mother always cooks her own recipes that are never too greasy." He said thinking deeply into what was going on at home, though, he was happy here at the academy, it almost felt like home, though, people always seemed sad because of there past life, but Trephas knows that he could always turn out like everyone here, if his family died he would.

His eyes glanced up at her when Lex closed her eyes, and it made him wonder a bit what she was thinking.

My turn... hmm... He thought for a bit. "OK, do you like to read? And if you do, what books do you like?" He asked smiling, obviously happy to be talking with someone. He heard a noise come from the lake, and his dull eyes scanned over the water, that was now slightly rippling. Just a fish, I would know, after living on a lake, I'll have to go fishing sometime, he thought happily.

Lex grinned and dipped her head. "Now that, that is a tough question. Yes, I read. I devour books like a baracuda, actually.. As for what I read... Anything and everything. Minus super evil Gore books, or books that are so deep that they make you feel the character's emotions as your own.." she chuckled slightly, "heh. Yeah.. Those are dangerous ones for me to read.." She'd said her entire answer with eyes closed, and when she opened them, they were back to their dazzling sparkling selves.

"But.. If I have to give an answer for a favourite books...I can't. But my three favourite authors are the classics. J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Shakespeare. 'Cept alot of Shakespeare's plays are really depressing. I only like the good ones." She scooted her bum a little further along the ground, leaning back so that her back was on the ground, still crosslegged, and looked up at Trephas upside down. "How's about you?" she grinned cheerfully, as though it was completely normal to have somebody sitting in the position she was.

He smiled. "I also like books, and any are good, though I'm not a person who really likes gruesome in books, but suspenseful ones are what I really like, and then medieval fantasy ones I also what I like." He said in return when she said 'How's about you', so he had given her a short answer but planned on saying more. He had looked at her when she had closed her eyes while she spoke, but then when she opened them, she seemed like herself, as he thought.

"And my favorite authors are... I have no idea I like a lot of different author's, I guess Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, they write Dragonlance books, they are good, and I guess I no more, well I do, I just can't think of any." He said a small smile slipped onto his face again, though his eyes never changed.

She unfolded her legs, stretching them out as she continued to remain in her odd position. He had a musical voice. "The ground is extremely comfortable here. Not at all hard. Very nice and squishy." She'd waited for him to finish his favourite authors before she'd spoken her random little comment, and she beamed up at him like a little girl, completely aware of how odd her comment must have sounded.

She chuckled at herself, blinking for a bit of a long second as she pondered. And then, as an idea dawned on her, a very large, extremely impish grin found it's way onto her face. Without so much as batting an eyelash in the direction of the water, a fair sized ball of water formed, and was lifted, floating over to Trephas, and floating over his head. She left it there, keeping it just high enough that he couldn't reach it from his sitting position, and watched him innocently, remaining silent, curious of how long it would take him to react in some way or another.

He laughed a bit, it was a strange thing to say, but he was still happy, and didn't seem to care how much her comment was strange, he was just happy to talk to someone who was and seemed very kind, and his eyes seemed to flash with happiness. "I never thought about it, but I guess it is." He said resting his hand on the ground.

When Lex lifted the water over his head with her telekineses he looked up at it, and he reached up though it was out of his reach. "That's amazing, I could never do that, I would get tired right away!" He said amazed, while hoping she didn't drop it on his head, but he wouldn't care really care, he was bascilly only amazed. He then finally turned her gaze breifly over Lex, and saw her innocent look, but he looked back up. Another thing about his family is that they are always curious.
