<div align=center>By the look of it, Félix was right, the horse seemed friendly enough, and William supposed he didn't mind petting it. He'd definitely decided against feeding it though, besides, he didn't really want to get his hands messy. He didn't like the thought of that one bit. He'd pass on it for now, but maybe he'd ride a horse one day, or sit on it at least, maybe when he was feeling just a little bit braver. The boy however, did shuffle a little bit closer to pat the large, brown animal on the nose. It was soft to touch, and made the boy giggle.

"Oh.." The boy frowned a little, as if considering the answer to Félix's question for a moment. "He's my boyfriend." He murmured quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear in an almost nervous sort of fashion. Gabe wasn't really strict at all, he was just a little bit protective from time to time. William didn't mind that though, he liked being looked after.

He shook his head when asked if he didn't like doing anything risky. William was more or less frightened of most things that were strange to him. He had a terribly nervous disposition that bothered him more often than not, it made a lot of things awfully hard for him. "I don't really like... Scary things..." He answered carefully, "I like baseball, though... And I like reading, and I can play guitar." He seemed awfully proud of that last bit.</div>

Félix was at least glad William tried to touch the horse. It was a step from keeping one's distance, looking and not touching. He remembered the first time he encountered a horse himself. It didn't go much differently than what Bill experienced, though Félix was pushed to ride the horse about eight minutes in. He spent the rest of the time praying he didn't fall off.

“Boyfriend, huh?” Amusingly enough, his first reaction was to double-take and ensure William was in fact a boy. Not that Félix was disturbed with the possibility, but statistics seemed to favour a double check. No, William was definitely a boy. He was pretty sure, anyway.

He didn't like scary things, and preferred reading. He wasn't that different from Félix, in all truth, though Félix was a little less fearful. He rarely admitted to being scared, but that could have been the product of having a macho younger brother.

“I play the piano some,” Félix answered with a smile. More like he played it as much as he slept, but it did no use to brag, “Do you study any music theory as well?” That one was more of a shot in the dark, but maybe if he liked reading he liked studying music as well.

“I'd like to hear you play, actually. Are you free later?” Félix capitalized on William's rare moment of pride.

<div align=center>It was probably not unusual for Félix to feel the need to do a double take, William's gender wasn't really the easiest thing to decipher. To many he just looked like a tall, flat-chested girl. Nothing about him was really all that masculine, his voice was soft, his eyelashes were long and no matter how much he tried there was absolutely no way he could grow a beard. Not that he'd want to ever grow a beard, he tended to look like a bad transvestite if he ever did grow a little bit of stubble, a look he wasn't fond of.

He nodded a little, "boyfriend." He responded softly, in almost a sort of undertone. He was proud of that fact for the most part, it was exciting for him to have someone to cling to whenever he felt sad, and Gabriel was good at being there to be clung to. William looked over at Félix when he spoke about being able to play piano. That was a pretty instrument, he liked the way it tinkled when you pressed the keys, he'd had a friend back at home who'd been learning to play piano, though he hadn't listened to anyone play for a long time. He did study music theory, it was difficult though, and made his head hurt if he read about it for too long, or did too much work. The boy nodded, smiling just a little.

The prospect of being asked to play in front of someone was just a little scary, though. He barely liked playing in front of Gabe, he thought that had only happened once, a long time ago, and never since. It made him embarrassed enough when he caught him humming or singing in the shower. "Uh.. I get a.. A little bit nervous... B.. But I could... I could try?"</div>

He really was a bundle of nerves. Even being asked to play his passion, or what Félix guessed was his passion, and William barely had the courage to say yes. It had him wondering whether there was anything William could do that wouldn't make him sweat. Ask what book he was reading? Play baseball, since it was nearly impossible to even practise on one's own?

“It's not a competition, I'm not going to judge your performance,” Félix smiled. He had crossed his arms and was leaning against one of the empty stables' door. “But I can understand if you're too nervous. Not everyone pursues an art for other people's pleasure.” There was a bit of a challenging tone, however. Félix wouldn't let him off the hook so easily.

“I'm going to be in the music room anyway later. If I catch you in there, play for me. Deal?”

<div align=center>William couldn't help his nervous disposition, people tended to tease him for it a lot of the time, which of course only made things worse. However, he did try very hard to be brave, despite never really succeeding all that often. It was the effort that counted though, right? Gabriel was brave enough for both of them, William had decided recently. He didn't think the older boy was scared of anything. At least, William had never seen him scared, not once. That made him feel better, it made him feel good. William fared much better around people that had happy thoughts, it flowed into him and made him feel warm and fuzzy.

William shrugged, he supposed if he stumbled across Félix again then he'd play for him and be done with it. There was no way in hell he'd sing though, William refused to sing for anyone. That was far too scary in his head, perhaps only one person on the whole campus had ever heard him sing. He shrugged, he didn't know why he liked to play guitar. The sound it made was pretty, and it made him happy when he finally learned to play a whole song. It was something to take his mind off of things, and that was something he needed from time to time. "Alright." He answered, "deal."</div>
