Vinnie would have asked what Marco Polo was, and how one was meant to play it when Tian mentioned going to a hot tub and making a whirlpool. Was that also a game? "A whirlpool? Is that a game? How do you play?"

Aedan looked at the situation, he had a feeling there something was going on here that he was unaware of. He decided to ignore it for now, but it was a party, he might as well talk.

"So Sage, your pretty new here right? Why did you decide to run for treasurer?" in truth Aedan had little interest in such things, but he wanted to talk.

Tian grinned at Vinnie. "Whirlpool is when you and a couple friends move around in a circle in a pool, big or small. Since you're all going the same direction, a current starts to form. The aim is to be moving fast enough, and in sync enough, that a little whirlpool forms inside the ring you're making. It's harder than it seems, but loads of fun!"

Ahh, good. Something to do! Sage turned to Aedan, grinning. "I get asked that question a lot, honestly, but I suppose it's for good reason, no?" he replied. Sage thought for a moment, gathering his words — he'd been thinking pretty in-depth about his scheme before — and then continued on.

"I've been part of student council at my old school the past three years. I enjoy it, and I enjoy helping people out. I also know a lot about handling money, being frugal, and making the most of what you've got. Hence my events - elaborate and fun, but for surprisingly little cost. I figure that, unique economies aside, money is money is money, and so if I want to continue helping out Student Council, the best place for me would be Treasurer. Make sense?"

Dorian was... Honestly, he was way too old for High School drama. He was extremely off-put by Nim's behavior. Every time he tried with this guy, he just complicated it to the point he had to ask himself why he even bothered. Geez. He mentally noted that was the last time he was inviting him to one of his parties.

"Right, right..." He looked back and forth Nim and Mia. He had to wonder why Mia of all people would put up with it. Mia didn't give a shit about anything. What was so important about some nerd boy. He clapped her on the shoulder. "Have fun. If you wanna have some real fun, darling, come see me at the dance floor."

He smiled, not kind, and just left this entire scene. Who else was here?

That was when Dorian saw Cat hovering near the gate. Oh, look, one of his more pleasant friends. He jogged over to where she was and smiled. She looked like... she was leaving? That just wouldn't do at all. He poked her lightly on the arm. "Heyyy, Cat. You don't have to leave so soon!"

Vinnie wondered if that could even be done with only three people! She looked at the size of the pool, then looked around for a hot tub. "And what is Marco Polo?" She asked Annie, before pointing to a hot tub and saying, "would you want to go do that, Anthia?"

Yeah, it was high school drama nonsense and Mia was Too Old for that shit. But, well, she did actually give a shit about Nim. If really insisted on describing their relationship, she'd even admit she saw him like a little brother--and she had to look out for her little bro.

"Oh yeah, we'll tear up the dance floor later with our intense sex appeal," Mia said with a wink to Dorian before he wandered off. But for now, she wrapped an arm around Nim.

"Okay sweet'ums. We are stepping outside," she said before dragging Nim along to do just that. First things first: get him out of the line of sight of Jeff and Sage.

Gwynaria, meanwhile, realized that perhaps she was a bit too blunt. Saying the first thing to pop into one's head did sometimes backfire like that. She would have apologized, but Mia was already dragging Nim off and Gwynaria thought it best to not interrupt them at that point. Instead, her hooves clicked on the ground as she followed after Dorian--the reason she had wandered over to the group in the first place.

"Mr. Crawford!" she placed a hand on his shoulder. "I wanted to say thank you for inviting me! This is my first party that isn't a big masquerade ball. It has been an excellent experience for me."

She flashed a brillant smile, then turned her attention to Cat.

"Oh Cat, do you truly intend to leave so soon?" Gwynaria got down on one knee in front of Cat in that princely fashion as she was apt to do.

"I had hoped to get to know my fellow intern," she said with a kind smile, one hand on her chest while the other stretched out to Cat. "Could I at least steal some of your time for a dance before you depart?"

Dorian turned around to see who was calling out to him. Oh, it was Gwynaria! And she was thanking him for inviting her. Aw. "That's wonderful! I hope you're enjoying the party, my dear. It's an honor to have you working with us. Have you considered signing onto the company for real? You should consider it." He smiled.

He then watched Gwynaria get on her knee and talk to Cat, pride swimming in his chest. Aw. That was what Crown was about. Found family.

"I think you two would get along splendidly. You're both very lovely girls!"

A small while ago

"I shouldn't go...I don't like parties...But Aedan said he was going...and he wanted us to be there." Tesa paced in her dorm, text books and homework forgotten as she paced barefoot trying to think of what she wanted to do. "...We won't know anyone there. We'd be bored...ok not bored, we'd be dragged into stupid shit like mother would always try."

Looking up at the clock, the pool party was going to start shortly. "I'm going. Aedan asked me to go, I'll go for him. Plus I've never been dating anyone when I've gone to a party... I might, no. It WILL be different." With a sigh and an increase in her determination she went to her room to change.

Present

Tesa was walking up to the party while it seemed to be in full swing, she let out a sigh to herself. She hadn't been to a party of any sort for 10 years, and that had been with her mother... when she tried to force her to...'NO, don't think of that. She's not here. You're dating Aedan, everything will be fine.'

She was dressed in a loose just off white colored crop top garment that showed off the sides of her torso being tied with thin sting on top and bottom while a similar off white colored wrap around her waist that was tied on one side showing her entire left leg and a small portion of the deep bright red sting bikini she wore underneath. Her hair fell in waves behind her, though that wasn't from any attempt on her part...it just ended up like that.

Still not quite sure of herself but determined to try to find Aedan and have a nice night she walked into the light as she entered the area with the pool & party. The Greek DemiGodeess noticed more then just a few heads turn her way, but she was use to that being a daughter of Aphrodite. Looking around she spotted Mia talking to a young...man(?) in glasses but not quite sure how she stood with her sister she turned and began walking slowly around the pool looking for Aedan.

Aedan nodded along as Sage explained his reasons for going for treasurer, "thats really good Sage, getting as much out of the money as possible, plus you having experience really helps." In truth Aedan wasn't big on this sort of thing, but Sage had won his vote.

His eyes went to the crowd looking for Tesa, he was a bit worried about her coming to a party so soon after getting here, "sorry Sage my date should be getting here soon, I better go look for her." He rose from his seat and headed into the crowd.

He moved through the people, there were too many here for him to pick up on here scent if she was here. His glowing eyes looking around to find her.

Sage grinned at Abs, nodding. "Thank you, and yes, I really hope to make a difference," he said. He then waved a bit as Abs moved to depart. "Have a good night, then, and tell you date I said hi!"

Inside, Sage was cackling like mad. Glasses was quite obviously jealous, and though Jawline hadn't been doing much, he was sure this was going to play out - in the end - well, even if Glasses was being a teenager and things were messy now. Oh, meddling was such fun... especially when it was needed!

Christian Bennet Kemberley

"Marco Polo is like this, Vinnie," he began. "The guy who plays 'it', basically, has to close their eyes. They then call out 'Marco!' and the other players respond with 'Polo!' The object of the game, for Marco, is to follow the voices of the Polos and tag them, while the Polos try to confuse the Marco and escape. The first Polo to be tagged becomes the new Marco, and the game resets."

Nimble Vernon Emmerson

If Nim was being honest, he was kicking himself more than a little. He was too flighty, too agitated to be in public, and he was being a party-pooper. Dorian had picked up on it - that much was clear. Nim knew 'polite but not genuine' smiles like the back of his hand, and that smile certainly was one. God damn it. First party and he was already blowing it. At least Gwyn had gone. That meant a little less tension to go around.

Nim kept his head down as he followed Mia away from Jeff and Sage. God, this was embarrassing, and the blush didn't help. He felt like a child would, being scolded and coddled by his mother. He didn't look at Mia as he said, "I told you, I'm fine. What's this about?
